1. Cambridge professor refuses to help 13-year-old Israeli girl until there’s ‘peace in Palestine’

A former University of Cambridge academic refused to help a 13-year-old girl with her school project when she contacted her about horses until there’s “peace and justice in Palestine”. Dr Marsha Levine, who is Jewish, spent a decade at Cambridge’s McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research as a fellow then a senior research associate and is also an expert the history of domesticating horses.

She was emailed by Shachar Rabinovitz, a teenage schoolgirl from northern Israel, who asked the professor to answer a few questions about horses, such as how humans used to breed horses in ancient civilisations and which breed the ancient humans used the most.

(I am pretty certain that if a Palestinian kid wrote this prof she would get the help. So this woman isn’t concerned about peace in the region. She is just anti-Israel)

2. The FBI remains utterly clueless as does the US media. They are hoping that more investigation might lead to a clue about motive in the San Bernardino attacks.

3. Middle Eastern Men Arrested Near Mexican Border with Steel Cylinders

Five young Middle Eastern men were apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol this week in an Arizona town situated about 30 miles from the Mexican border, law enforcement and other sources told Judicial Watch.

Border Patrol agents spotted the men crossing a ranch property in the vicinity of Amado, which is located about 35 miles south of Tucson and has a population of 275. Two of the Middle Eastern men were carrying stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, JW’s sources say, alarming Border Patrol officials enough to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for backup. A multitude of federal agents descended on the property and the two men carrying the cylinders were believed to be taken into custody by the FBI.

4. Exclusive – Investigators piece together portrait of Pakistani woman in shooting massacre

It was from here, when she was a toddler, that she moved with her father Gulzar 25 years ago to Saudi Arabia, where he became more deeply religious, more conservative and more hardline, according to a family member.

A picture slowly emerged on Friday of the role and possible motivations of 27-year-old Malik in this week’s killing of 14 people in California, including her apparent pledge of allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State militant group, according to U.S. officials.

Malik, with her husband Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, is accused of storming a holiday party on Wednesday in San Bernardino, California, and opening fire in America’s worst mass shooting in three years.

5. Russia Facing Difficulty In Turkish Straits? Shipping Disruptions May Be Moving Global Oil Market

A source involved in global oil freight contracts revealed tensions in the Turkish Straits are high and there exists a very real probability that Turkey may be blocking Russian ships at the Bosphorus Strait, Benzinga Pro reported.

Chatter from other traders theorizes that Turkey may be strategically placing vessels in the path of Russian vessels in the Bosphorus. To comply with the Montreux Convention of 1936, it’s thought Turkey could make Russian ship movement activity as difficult as possible without an outright blockade.

Montreux laws prevent Turkey from closing the Straits without declaring war, something former Russian Defense official Yevgeny Buzhinsky recently said he didn’t think would happen.

6. Al Jazeera America’s digital content producer apparently tweeted an admonition to ABC news for showing a photo of the woman who was part of the San Bernardino attack team and murdered 14 people at a Christmas party, because they showed her face without a burka. It seems that the tweet was removed or fallen down the timeline, i am not 100% on how Twitter works. but lots of people captured the image of it and here it is below.

7. In Calgary, someone spray painted a bunch of anti-muslim graffiti but spelled muslim in at least one occasion as, “Muslilim”. Interesting.

8. EXCLUSIVE: ISIS loyalist woman in San Bernardino massacre is linked to Pakistan’s most notorious radical cleric and mosque known as center for fundamentalists

The woman who took part in the ISIS-inspired San Bernardino massacre is linked to her native country’s most notorious radical mosque, American officials believe.

Sources have told Daily Mail Online that US officials handed over information to their Pakistani counterparts about links between Tashfeen Malik and the Red Mosque in Islamabad.

The mosque is infamous for its links to violence and authorities in Pakistan are now considering taking action against its preacher, Maulana Abdul Aziz, after the disclosures by US officials.

It is unclear currently how law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the US have connected Malik to the mosque.

9. Iraq demands Turkish troops withdraw from near Mosul

(Now its getting beyond interesting to downright WTF)

Black shell casings are cool!

The Iraqi government has demanded that Turkey withdraw troops it sent to an area near the northern city of Mosul.

The move was “serious breach of Iraqi sovereignty” Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s office said in a statement.

About 150 Turkish soldiers have been deployed near in the town of Bashiqa to train Iraqi Kurdish forces, earlier reports said.

Mosul has been under the control of the Islamic State (IS) group since last year.

The statement called on Turkey to “respect good neighbourly relations and to withdraw immediately from the Iraqi territory”.

(It never occurred to me that Turkey would have sent those troops, presumably as totem support for Iraqi forces or to ‘train’ Iraqi forces to fight Islamic State members, without the knowledge or consent of the Iraqi government. Erdogan has taken megalomania to a new height perhaps)

10. As World Learns Of Jihadist Motives Of U.S. Terrorists, UK Left Wing Leaders Attend ‘Anti-Islamophobia Vigil’ Outside Notorious Mosque

(It really is time to wake up from our comfortable beliefs about the intellectual landscape of our various cultures and nations and get a real picture of political reality as it is today)

SAN BERNARDINO, California – As the world learned of the jihadist motivation of the San Bernardino terrorists, Britain’s left-wing Labour Party leader led an “anti-Islamophobia vigil” outside the notoriously Islamist Finsbury Park mosque in North London.

The vigil was announced after police reported a “molotov cocktail” was thrown over the mosque’s outer fence last Friday. The device failed to detonate.

Notorious Islamist hate preacher Abu Hamza Al Masri was Imam of the Finsbury Park mosque from 1997 until 2003. In 2004 he was arrested by UK police, and subsequent to a long judicial process, he was extradited to the United States where he was imprisoned earlier this year for life with no chance of parole.

11. ‘Only I and my paper were prosecuted’ – journalist who exposed Turkey’s hospitality for jihadists

There were numerous reports of Islamist fighters injured in Syria finding shelter and treatment in Turkish hospitals. Dogu Eroglu, a journalist who broke one such story, told RT it resulted in only him and his newspaper being prosecuted.

Eroglu is an investigative journalist working for the opposition BirGun (One Day) newspaper. In September last year he wrote an expose on a medical facility in Gaziantep, a town in southeastern Turkey about an hour’s drive from the Syrian border. The hospital treated fighters who had been injured in the neighboring country with the tacit approval of the Turkish authorities.

“I was told by the hospital administration that they are jihadist fighters and do not have any other profession,” he told RT, adding that after recovering the fighters went back to Syria to fight more battles.

These are truly transformative times. On many occasions I have suggested that the time to speak confidently about that which is true around the proverbial water cooler is here. I understand the costs of doing so. I have friends who have lost jobs and I certainly have lost work and work opportunities due to politely stated factual beliefs I express. But there are costs to not doing so as well, which is the reason, as one example, that Pascal’s Wager is utter nonsense. In fact Pascal’s Wager is one oft used deception used by Global Warming salesmen. That there is ‘no danger in belief but tons of danger in non-belief’. In fact the reverse is closer to true. Same with speaking about Islam and leftism today. It will cost you friends, family and possibly some work related opportunities. Certainly one cannot risk too too much on that level. But not speaking about it, not moving the culture back to one based on reason and truth also carries a cost to each of us.

  3. With tensions raising between Turkey and Russia and between Turkey and Iran there is going to be a massive disruption in the shipping of Middle Eastern oil, the US and Canada aren’t going to be hit as hard as the non oil producing nations will be but we will be hit.

I think that’s Major General Qasem Suleimani at 4:57.

“Twice designated a terrorist by the United States government, considered responsible for up to 20% of American casualties in the Iraq war, Major General Qasem Suleimani, the legendary Iranian spymaster and leader of the Quds Force – the elite special operations wing of the hardline Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – is now stirring alarm in Washington for doing something the Obama administration would ordinarily cheer: taking the fight to ISIS in Iraq.

“Photographs circulating on social media show Suleimani operating alongside senior Iraqi officials in the theater in and around Tikrit, the Sunni ancestral home of Saddam Hussein that is located almost equidistant between Mosul, the ISIS-controlled city 120 miles to the north, and Baghdad, the capital of the Iraqi government 100 miles to the south.”
