Ten Jewish groups have sent a letter to Congress members on Tuesday urging them not to roll back plans to accept Syrian refugees into the United States.
“To turn our back on refugees would be to betray our nation’s core values,” said the letter, as Congress began considering measures that would put a stop to the Obama administration’s plans to bring in 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year.

Two Muslim women were accosted and verbally assaulted on a Toronto subway train on Wednesday night, the TTC said, and anti-Muslim graffiti was found on a GO Transit train.
TTC spokesman Brad Ross condemned the incident, which he said took place around 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Sherbourne Station.
The TTC has “zero tolerance for these kind of people,” Ross told CBC News.
Two men and a woman boarded a train and proceeded to make racist comments about the two Muslim women, including an implication that they could be terrorists, he said.
The woman who was in the group that made the racial slurs allegedly pushed one of the Muslim women, Ross said.
A witness on the train activated the emergency alarm and the Toronto police officers and TTC special constables responded to the scene. The offenders, however, fled.
Police are investigating and officers took statements from the victims and witness, Ross said.
(While certainly, if true, pushing someone is a real crime, it would be assault, if every-time someone saw or heard anything they found offensive on mass transit they hit the emergency stop, the Friday after-work commute wouldn’t get you home in time for work on Monday. And that is being kind)

“The only thing we knew about the suspect was that his brother-in-law was registered as a radical and was under police detention several times. Anyway, the police discovered in Omeragic’s house certain notes in which he glorified ISIL. Therefore, I believe he was preparing this crime,” Mektic told a press conference in Sarajevo, referring to another acronym for the “Islamic State” terror group. He stressed that the killer was most probably influenced by his radicalized brother-in-law.
9. New Islamic State video threatens attack on White House
Islamic State militants released a video on Thursday threatening the White House with suicide bombings and car blasts and vowing to conduct more attacks on France.
The six-minute video released by Islamic State fighters in Iraq applauds last week’s Paris attacks, according to a translation of the Arabic provided by the Maryland-based SITE Intelligence Group.
The latest threat comes one day after the militant group put out a video showing scenes of New York City, which suggested it was also a target.
Islamic State, which controls a large territory in Syria and Iraq, has claimed responsibility for last Friday’s attacks in Paris in which 129 people were killed.
FBI Director James Comey said on Thursday he was not aware of any credible threat of a “Paris-type attack” in the United States.

I used to work with a Jewish man who was always helping out this Hell’s Angels biker who went around with swastika and SS tattoos.
I have seen this phenomenon – of Jewish people befriending open Jew-haters – more than once in my life. It is something I am at a loss to understand.
I have theories. One is that Jews, being a tiny minority, know their only options are ‘friend or flight’

But its also possible that Jewish people, being raised with a steady diet of their own historical role as victims, want for once someone else to be, and they want to be the heroes. The Schindlers. The brave rescuers of others which explains the muslim thing more than the friends of Nazis thing. The Nazi thing is likely an attempt to prove to them that Jews are decent people. But anyone who studied Nazi Germany would know that the Jews there were the most integrated Jewish population in world history till then. Many of them had medals of honour for fighting for Germany in WW1 in fact. So that doesn’t work as most Nazis and antisemites aren’t using reason. Like other far left wing extremists, NAZIS (National Socialist Workers Party members) do not use reason for decision making and prefer conclusion based reasoning. So being kind to them hoping to turn them around will just give an address to start with when they decide its time to go kinetic.
