  1. We need more Björn Höcke with English subtitles. I don’t know German, but his speeches are electrifying. He draws big crowds, and has a dramatic flair. He’s been getting some shares on 4Chan’s politically incorrect board /pol/

His website spells his first name as Bjöern , but most videos have it as Björn.

  2. Der Spiegel article says that Eu countries will not be able to send back migrants from Pakistan back to their country of origin. Pakistan also accuses EU countries that they brand “migrants” as “terrorists”

“A Jordanian policeman has opened fire at a police training centre outside Amman, killing two Americans, a South African and a Jordanian, officials say.

The Jordanian embassy in Washington said the assailant wounded five others, including two Americans and three Jordanians, before being shot dead.

President Barack Obama said the US was taking the attack “very seriously”.

The US-funded Jordan International Police Training Centre (JIPTC) hosts mainly Palestinian and Iraqi officers.

Civilian contractors from the US and elsewhere assist Jordanian police trainers at the facility in Muwaqqar, on the eastern outskirts of Amman.

Jordanian government spokesman Mohammed Momani told the Associated Press that an investigation had been launched into whether the motive for Monday’s shooting attack at the JIPTC was personal or political.

The assailant was a senior trainer with the rank of captain, a Jordanian security source was quoted as saying by Reuters…”

  4. Sinai jihadist group leader Ashraf Gharabli ‘killed’ (BBC, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34765662

“A leader of so-called Islamic State’s affiliate in northern Sinai has been killed, Egypt’s interior ministry says.

Ashraf Gharabli, of the jihadist Sinai Province group, died in a shootout in Cairo after security forces tried to arrest him, it added.

Gharabli led several attacks, including the kidnapping and killing of a Croatian in August, it said.
Authorities are investigating the group’s claim that it brought down a Russian airbus in Sinai recently.

All 224 people on board were killed.

Western officials say there is a strong possibility that a bomb exploded on the plane, though there has been no indication that Gharabli himself was involved.

Gharabli was one of the most wanted militants in the country. His death was announced on the interior ministry’s official Facebook page.

Egyptian officials say he had been behind the death of Croatian Tomislav Salopek, and a deadly explosion in the Italian consulate in Cairo in July.

Sinai Province – formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (Supporters of Jerusalem) – has been active in the Sinai peninsula since 2011. It changed its name after pledging allegiance to so-called Islamic State in 2014.”

  7. JORDAN – 2 Americans Killed at Police Training Center in Jordan

AMMAN, Jordan — Two American contractors and a South African colleague were gunned down Monday at a U.S.-funded police training center in Jordan, according to officials.

Jordan’s embassy in Washington said a Jordanian civilian employee also died in the attack at the facility in eastern Amman. The gunman — a Jordanian police officer — was killed at the scene, according to a statement from the embassy. It added that two American trainers and three Jordanians were injured.

Government spokesman Mohammad Momani told NBC News that the attack unfolded in the cafeteria of the training facility and that an investigation was underway into the gunman’s motives.

U.S. defense officials told NBC News that the attacker was a disgruntled former cop who’d recently been fired.

[…]”The investigation is ongoing and it is premature to speculate on motive at this point,”

[…]One of the two Americans killed Monday was training Palestinian security forces, an official with the State Department confirmed.

[…]”This incident sadly does not come as a surprise as the threat of Islamist terrorism has only increased in the region in the last few years in the aftermath of Syria and Iraq. As much as pre-emptive measures have been taken, it is impossible to eradicate all risks,” said a senior Jordanian official who requested anonymity, citing political sensitivities.

[…]The U.S. Embassy in Amman said two American civilian security contractors and a South African contractor were shot to death, and the slain Jordanian was a translator according to the Jordanian government.

  8. Refugee flyer made false claims about Sweden (thelocal, Nov 8, 2015)
    http://www.thelocal.se/20151108/flyers-with-lies-about-sweden-warn-lesbos-refugees

“Hijabs will be banned and all refugees live in tents – just some of the false or exaggerated claims being made about Sweden in a flyer apparently produced by the nationalist Sweden Democrat party and handed to refugees arriving in Greece.

Flyers with inaccurate information about Sweden are being spread in a refugee camp on Greek island Lesbos, in an apparent effort to dissuade refugees from heading to the Nordics.

Under a “No money, no jobs, no homes” headline, a gloomy message from a group describing itself as “Sweden Democrats, SD-Women and The People of Sweden”, is meant to discourage refugees from travelling to Sweden.

The flyer claims massive immigration has caused “grenade attacks in public spaces” and “a very high number of shootings and gang related violence”. It also claims that halal slaughter and wearing Islamic veils will be forbidden – despite the fact that these policies are not backed by most political parties and have no prospect of becoming law.

“As a Swedish citizen, I do not back this”, Mohammed Mouaid, a Swede helping refugees at Lesbos, told newspaper Södermanlands Nyheter.

“This is incorrect information, and they sign it on behalf of ‘the Swedish people’. I haven’t signed up for this and it makes me so angry and upset to see it,” Mouaid, who works for Gränslöst Mänskligt, a Swedish project that helps refugees in Greece, also told Swedish tabloid Expressen.

The Sweden Democrats have previously announced that they plan to start a campaign to inform refugees abroad that the living conditions in Sweden are not as good as many potential asylum seekers think.

”Our society is facing collapse”, said party leader Jimmy Åkesson on a press conference on October 15th.

The Sweden Democrats have not yet confirmed that they created the flyer. “We will comment on this tomorrow”, Party Secretary Richard Jomshof told Swedish newswire TT on Sunday.”

  9. Swedish refugee support drops as numbers rise (thelocal, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.thelocal.se/20151109/swedish-support-for-migrants-falls-poll

“A new poll suggests growing numbers of Swedes want their country to take in fewer migrants, as the nation continues to welcome an unprecedented influx of asylum seekers.

The poll by Sifo, published in the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper, found 41 percent of respondents said Sweden should grant fewer residency permits to refugees — compared to just 29 percent in September.

Of the 1,000 people questioned between November 2nd and 5th, a quarter wanted the number to remain at current levels, while 17 percent wanted an increase and 16 percent were undecided.

Sweden has taken more refugees per capita than any other country in Europe as the continent struggles with its worst migration crisis since World War Two, and is expecting up to 190,000 asylum seekers this year.

“When we polled opinion in September, the developments and the debate were completely different. Today the prime minister (Stefan Löfven) is asking to redistribute (in the European Union) the refugees who have come here,” said Toivo Sjören, head of polling at Sifo.

An Ipsos poll published on Saturday in Sweden’s Dagens Nyheter newspaper similarly indicated a shift in attitudes, suggesting 26 percent think the Scandinavian country should welcome more migrants, down from 44 percent in September.

Men and right-wing voters tended to take more negative views of migrants, with 96 percent of the far-right Sweden Democrats’ supporters saying fewer should be granted residency.

Rising opposition to the newcomers can also be seen on social media.

According to a study conducted by Svenska Dagbladet, 35 percent of the most shared posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram containing the Swedish word for “refugees” expressed a negative opinion about the issue in October, compared to 21 percent in September.”

“The United Arab Emirates Air Force has announced a $1.27-billion deal with Swedish defence giant Saab to purchase two surveillance planes and upgrade two others.

The two new aircraft are Global 6000 surveillance planes, while the old planes to be upgraded are part of the UAE’s fleet of Saab 340s, said Major General Abdullah al-Hashimi at a joint press conference at the Dubai Airshow.

The date of delivery has not been finalized, but could be within two years, he said, adding that the purchase “supports surveillance capabilities” of the Gulf nation’s Air Force.

The UAE has been part of the US-led coalition bombing militants of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

It has also played a key role in the Saudi-led coalition that launched a military campaign in March against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen.

  11. Weekly asylum claims top 10,000 in Sweden (thelocal, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.thelocal.se/20151109/weekly-asylum-claims-top-10000-in-sweden

“Last week saw the highest number of refugees in history seeking asylum in Sweden in a seven day period according to the Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket).

The latest figures from Migrationsverket show that 10,201 people applied for asylum in the Nordic nation last week.

This group included 4,333 refugees from Afghanistan and 2,719 from Syria.

More than a quarter of the asylum seekers were unaccompanied minors, with 2,827 children making the journey to Sweden without an older relative or guardian.

The new statistics were released days after Sweden’s Migration Minister Morgan Johansson announced that due to the huge recent influx of refugees, the Scandinavian country could no longer guarantee beds for all new arrivals.

“The urgent problem today is that the number of asylum seekers is increasing faster than the number of accommodation places,” he said at a press conference on Thursday.

“Sweden today can no longer guarantee accommodation places,” he added….”

  12. ISIS in the Caribbean: Islamic State in alarming call to arms to jihadis on paradise isle

ISLAMIC STATE’S feared terror network has infiltrated idyllic holiday destinations in the Caribbean popular with Britons, in the latest worrying sign that the jihadi group’s self-styled Caliphate is expanding.

Propaganda footage to emerge from the barbaric organisation shows a man sitting beside his three children issuing a call for Muslims on the idyllic islands of Trinidad and Tobago to rise up.

In the video, a man, identified as Abu Zayd al-Muhajir, claimed he had fled his homeland because Muslims in Trinidad and Tobago were restricted in what they could do.

He said people were free to wear the hijab or other Islamic clothing but that in reality Muslims were only allowed to practice what they were told.

He said: “The only practice that you can practice is what they tell you is halal [permissible] to practice.

“The other aspects of Islam are haram [forbidden] for you.

“You cannot practice your deen [Islamic way of life] 100 per cent.

“It was yearning for me that I knew I had to leave, I had to leave this land.

“I cannot sit and watch my children grow up in this land in which they cannot practice their Islam 100 per cent.”

Muhajir said his three young sons were now studying Maths, English and Islam at an ISIS-run school.

The video, entitled, “Those who Believe and Made the Hijra,” was posted on social media.

Another fighter interviewed in the 11 minute film, Abu Khalid, said he had converted to Islam because of “the way the Muslims care about themselves, how they care about themselves, their family structure”.

He said he felt that he did not belong in Trinidad and that after reading sections of the Koran, he “started to understand that fighting is something that has been prescribed upon Muslims”.

Abu Mansour al-Muhajir, another fighter from the twin island Caribbean country, said he had travelled to Syria to fight allies of the devil.

He said: “Allah is inciting us to fight the friends of Satan for they are weak.

“This is a time when the Prophet, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned that there will come a time when all the nations of the world will gather around to wipe you out?

“Who? The Muslim. As we speak today, over 60 nations of this world sign on to wipe out us, but Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, is with us.

“I hope and pray that Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, will guide us and protect us and bring us to this land so that we will make jihad for this cause and to gain the reward of Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He.”

  13. Air Canada tells Liberals it can help airlift Syrian refugees

OTTAWA — Air Canada has told the Liberal government it can help airlift Syrian refugees.

The airline contacted the government immediately after the election, saying it has a window of opportunity before the Christmas rush to assist.

The company is now working with government officials to see what can be arranged.

While the carrier can’t fly directly into Syria, it could land in Beirut and help shuttle people from there to Canada.

The Liberals have pledged to resettle 25,000 people fleeing the civil war in Syria by the end of the year, a promise that will require extensive logistical support from both the government and private sector.

  15. Seven killed in attacks after governor removed in Nigeria’s east (reuters, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/09/us-nigeria-politics-election-idUSKCN0SY1BS20151109

“At least seven people were killed in shoot-outs and other attacks after a tribunal annulled the election of the governor of Nigeria’s eastern Taraba state and replaced him with a ruling party candidate, police said.

Attackers shot sporadically and set fire to buildings on Sunday, a day after the announcement of the order that Darius Ishaku, a Christian from the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party, had not legally won an April vote, police added.

The State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal said the lawful winner was Hajia Aisha Alhassan, a Muslim from the ruling All Progressives Congress, making her Nigeria’s first female governor.

There was no immediate detail on the identity of the attackers.

Taraba is part of Nigeria’s “Middle Belt” where its largely Christian south and mostly Muslim north meet, making it a flashpoint for violence often over land disputes between semi-nomadic, cattle-keeping communities, who tend to be Muslim, and settled farming people, who are often Christian.

Governors are some of the most influential politicians in Nigeria and run budgets larger than some small nations. With such high stakes, elections often bring violence and accusations of vote rigging.

Sunday’s violence had focused on the state’s Wukari area, Taraba state police spokesman Joseph Kwaji said. “Seven people were killed and 15 injured while some houses were burnt,” he added…”

  16. Chad declares state of emergency in Boko Haram-hit region (reuters, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/09/us-nigeria-violence-chad-idUSKCN0SY2E620151109

“N’Chad has declared a state of emergency in the Lake Chad region after a series of raids and suicide bombings there by militant Islamist group Boko Haram, the government said on Monday.

Chad was instrumental in forcing Boko Haram to cede territory earlier this year, undermining its six-year campaign to carve out a Nigerian caliphate.

But guerrillas have since ramped up attacks in remote border areas around Lake Chad, killing at least three people in a Chadian village on Sunday and three Nigerian refugees in northern Cameroon on Monday.

Chad’s Communications Minister Hassan Sylla Bakari said the order, effective immediately, would grant authorities new powers to search and monitor residents in the region.

There has not been a state of emergency in Chad, one of Africa’s military heavyweights, since a series of rebellions in the 2000s springing from its volatile east. Neighbouring Niger also has a state of emergency in its border region of Diffa.

A top U.N. official said last month that an 8,700 regional task force will begin joint raids against Boko Haram when the rainy season ends soon…”

  17. Executions in Saudi Arabia at a 20-year peak: Amnesty (reuters, Nov 9, 2015)
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/09/us-saudi-executions-amnesty-idUSKCN0SY2CB20151109

“Saudi Arabia has executed at least 151 people this year, the most since 1995 and far above the annual figure in recent years which rarely exceeded 90, Amnesty International said on Monday.

No one at Saudi Arabia’s Justice Ministry was immediately available to comment on the surge in the numbers of executions but diplomats have speculated it may be because more judges have been appointed, allowing a backlog of appeal cases to be heard.

Political analysts say it might also reflect a tough

response to wars and political turbulence in the region.

The kingdom is in the top five countries for executing people, rights groups say. It ranked No. 3 in 2014, after China and Iran, and ahead of Iraq and the United States, according to Amnesty International figures.

The same five countries executed the most prisoners in the first six months of 2015, Amnesty said in July.

The last time Saudi Arabia executed more than 150 people in a single year was when 192 executions were recorded in 1995, an Amnesty statement said.

Defenders of the Saudi death penalty say beheadings, usually with a single sword stroke, are at least as humane as lethal injections used in the United States. They deplore any comparison between its executions of convicted criminals and Islamic State’s extra-judicial killings of hostages….”

  18. Because It’s 2015

[…] There is no sound justification for Canada to cool relations with Israel while flattering Israel’s neighbors. There are only stock liberal notions about Israeli misconduct and the need for “balance” in Middle East affairs. When you act, as Arnold would say, “mechanically,” you lose the ability to think critically. What’s the real reason Canada is changing its tone toward Israel? Because that’s what liberal governments do these days. Because it’s 2015. Mischief to follow.

Danish teen stabbed to death at school

Three teens have been arrested in connection with the Thursday stabbing death of a 17-year-old in the Copenhagen suburb of Hillerød.

Three boys, aged 16, 17 and 18, were arrested late on Thursday for their alleged roles in the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old, North Zealand Police said in a press release.

According to police, the 17-year-old victim was stabbed in a tunnel close to Hillerød Handelsskole, a business school for students who have finished their primary education.

The stabbing occurred shortly after 1pm. When police responded to a distress call, the victim was rushed to Copenhagen’s Rigshospitalet but doctors were unable to save his life.

According to Ekstra Bladet, the fatal incident occurred during a lunch break from classes at a spot where students often go to smoke. Witnesses told the tabloid that the stabbing could be connected to a fight that flared up at a party last weekend.

The three arrested teens are due to make a preliminary court appearance on Friday.

North Zealand Police said it would not be releasing additional information on the fatal stabbing at this point.

  21. Toward the end of the summer I was invited to “engage in a meeting of the minds” at a lush Quaker retreat in Maine. These pacifists have been waging war against the State of Israel from its inception. Their current weapon: Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).

From the little I knew about Quaker history, I’d have stayed home, but ‘The People on Our Side’ urged me to go. They framed a guilt trip and I rode it. A couple weeks in Maine, sailboats, maybe generate some goodwill?

    What could possibly go wrong?

If only I’d read this article…
    The Quaker War on Israel
American religious history is filled with examples of faiths whose public perceptions defy deeper realities. The Quakers, for instance, are known as peaceful and supremely benign. Few suspect that one central mission is promoting the boycott, divestment and sanctions, or BDS, movement that opposes Israel’s existence.

  22. Terrorist How-To Manual Shows US Homeland in ISIS Crosshairs

A 64-page terrorist operations manual recently released by an Islamic State supporter on Twitter underscores concerns that the US homeland remains firmly in the group’s crosshairs. FBI Director James Comey told US intelligence officials last month that the Bureau has approximately 900 ongoing Islamic State-related inquiries, most of which involve homegrown suspects.

The manual, “Safety and Security Guidelines for Lone Wolf Mujahideen,” provides detailed instructions on successfully carrying out terror attacks.

“I think the manual format gives them sort of a how-to process and therefore it’s another indication of the danger we face in dealing with these self-motivated jihadists,” said former FBI Associate Deputy Director Oliver “Buck” Revell. “I think it shows a great deal of critical analysis at the heart of the movement and that they are certainly knowledgeable, and they are not ignorant of our methodologies and even our technical capabilities, and we would be wise not to underestimate their capabilities.”

A former high-ranking EU intelligence source tells the Investigative Project on Terrorism that three former members of Saddam Hussein’s intelligence service who currently are in Raqqa, Syria, wrote the English-language manual, which was derived from earlier Arabic lectures.
