  1. Anti-terror crackdown: Under NAP, a million people quizzed (tribune, Oct 26, 2015)
    http://tribune.com.pk/story/979078/anti-terror-crackdown-under-nap-a-million-people-quizzed/

“ISLAMABAD: Law enforcement and intelligence agencies have interrogated over a million people under the new anti-terror strategy devised in December last year following the Peshawar school tragedy.

While the ‘swift crackdown’ against militants continues, experts believe this ‘stop and frisk’ exercise under the National Action Plan (NAP) has proved futile in the absence of any institutional reforms, as questioning or arresting people is not the solution.

Since intelligence-based raids began on December 28, 2014, law enforcement agencies have questioned 1,073,699 people during 73,058 operations across the country.

According to the provincial home departments’ figures, agencies questioned 939,229 suspects in 32,106 raids in Punjab; 116,600 suspects in 22,854 operations in Sindh; 5,477 people in 406 operations in Islamabad; 4,116 people in 1,904 raids in Balochistan; 2,887 suspects in 12,773 operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P); 2,992 people in 2,570 raids in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK); 2,004 suspects in 208 operations in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B); and 394 people in 234 operations in the tribal areas.

The agencies arrested 85,213 suspects during this period with the highest (40,477) arrested in K-P. Around 25,215 people were arrested in Sindh; 8,639 in Balochistan; 5,371 in Punjab; 2,329 in Islamabad; 1,810 in G-B; 649 in AJK; while 755 suspects were arrested in tribal areas.

Among those arrested were 1,652 terrorists and 740 hardcore activists. Around 1,976 suspected militants were killed during these operations. Over 9,400 firebrand speakers and clerics have also been arrested on charges of fanning sectarian hatred.

But Rustam Shah Mohmand, who was also a member of the experts’ committee that prepared the 20-points for NAP, believes there has been no headway. “Was there any need to question a million people? Where are the necessary institutional reforms under the NAP?” he asks.

“There has been no progress on most of the key points of NAP,” he said. “No progress on seminary reforms, on legislation on sectarian violence, restoration of an effective district magistrate system and the list goes on.” Rustam claims the achievements have come through the already launched military operations in Karachi, Fata, Balochistan and southern Punjab.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Prof Ibrahim Khan also seconded his views. “Action under NAP against militants has been one-sided,” he said. “How was it determined by the forces that all arrested or killed suspects were terrorists?”

Government officials, however, believe the country has witnessed a significant drop in terrorism incidents as a result of actions taken under the NAP. Despite limited resources, they said, the government has been immensely successful in maintaining peace in Karachi, Balochistan and tribal areas even when the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) is yet to start functioning or to receive its promised Rs1.8 billion funds.

Ihsan Ghani, the Nacta national coordinator, claimed the interior minister was extremely serious about executing the revised anti-terror policies. “It [NAP] remains the government’s prime focus than other plans of action. Action plan will go on until we eliminate all those elements who challenge the writ of the state,” he told The Express Tribune.”

  2. US to persuade India to re-engage with Pakistan (tribune, Oct 26, 2015)
    http://tribune.com.pk/story/979105/assurance-from-washington-us-to-persuade-india-to-re-engage-with-pakistan/

“After India rejected Pakistan’s proposals for bilateral dialogues, the United States has assured that it will persuade New Delhi to pursue talks with Islamabad on all issues, including the longstanding dispute over Himalayan region of Kashmir, officials said on Sunday.

The assurance was given by US President Barack Obama during his talk with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Washington DC last week, a senior official familiar with the development told The Express Tribune.

Speaking off the record, the official added that the Obama administration will ‘privately’ convey to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that negotiations are the only way forward to deescalate tensions with Pakistan.

New Delhi has always been opposed to intervention from any other country on its ties with Islamabad, the most recent affirmation of which came from its External Affairs Ministry’s spokesperson soon after Nawaz’s meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry.

But Pakistan hopes Washington’s influence over New Delhi, owing to their strategic partnership, will once again bring the two hostile but hyphenated neighbours back to the negotiating table.

Pakistan and India have failed to hold bilateral dialogues since 2014 when the latter scuppered a scheduled meeting between their foreign secretaries over what Nawaz termed a ‘flimsy excuse’.

This year the proposed National Security Advisor-level talks were called off at the eleventh hour amid violence along the border and New Delhi’s insistence on limiting the agenda of the meeting to terrorism. Backchannel talks at the UN General Assembly in New York in late September also failed…”

With Violence Surging in Israel, Washington Retreats From New Diplomatic Push at Turtle Bay

      • Obama knows that he doesn’t have an leverage in India and that he is rapidly reaching the end of his leverage with Israel, What he is doing is playing for time until the violence starts in Europe and the US. Obama is approaching the end game of his efforts to destroy the west, what he and his leftist friends are doing is hoping they have done enough damage that the west can’t raise again. In reality they have not destroyed the west but may have destroyed civilization because in the end the western people will resort to barbaric tactics to preserve our nations and culture. We will do damage to the culture from the barbaric actions but can slowly claw our way back to civilization.

    • It is kind of funny that the news story right below this one at the link was that Swedish hot dogs and bacon “could cause cancer.”
My first thought was “thank God the muslims don’t eat bacon, they could get cancer.”
      Bwahahaha…
If you look to the flip side of the article cited that ‘refugees” don’t want to live in a holiday park the headline might state “another amenity for native Swedes taken away.” What is the over/under that the refugees will trash the place?

      • The odds are real god that this would happen.

I read about the study, my opinion is that either vegans or people trying to suck up to the Moslems , or combination of the two did the study.

    • Belgian army base car attack: Police hunt for man (BBC, Oct 26, 2015)
      http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34637297

“A man is on the run after an attempted attack on a Belgian army barracks in the town of Flawinne.

Shots were fired by Belgian soldiers after a masked man rammed a car into the gates of a paratrooper barracks.

The attacker then fled in his car, which has been found abandoned in the nearby town of Belgrade. It is unclear what the attacker’s motives were.

Prosecutors say that were no injuries in the attack, near the city of Namur in the south of the country.

Belgian officials say that the identity of the attacker is known…”

      • Belgium army base car attack: ‘Terrorism not the motive’ (BBC, Oct 26, 2015)
        http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34637297

“Belgium has said there are no signs that terrorism was the motive behind an attack on army barracks near the city of Namur.

Belgian police have arrested a suspect after a masked gunman tried to crash his car through the gates of the army barracks.

The man drove off after the attempted attack, during which Belgian soldiers fired shots. No-one was hurt.

The attack happened in Flawinne, south-east of Brussels.

“For the moment there are no elements which would allow us to say we are facing a terrorist examination,” a spokesman for prosecutors in Namur told a press conference.

“The theory of an isolated incident or one of a psychologically unstable person cannot be ruled out,” he said.

The car was found abandoned nearby.

Belgian officials say the attacker’s identity is known.

“There is nothing to suggest there are others involved,” local prosecutor Vincent Macq was quoted as saying.

Earlier an official described the attack on a barracks as “incomprehensible” because “there are plenty of weapons there to strike back”.

Pictures from the scene showed a bomb disposal team called to examine the abandoned car.

Local reports initially said the car was carrying a suspected explosive device, but no explosives were found in the car.

A nearby police academy was evacuated, according to local media reports.

  3. Turkey police ‘shoot-out with IS’ leaves several dead (BBC, Oct 26, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34635314

“Two policemen and up to seven suspected Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in a shoot-out in south-east Turkey, security officials say.

Police were carrying out dawn raids on houses in the city of Diyarbakir where militants were thought to be hiding.

Turkey has stepped up operations against IS since the group was blamed for twin blasts that killed more than 100 people in Ankara this month.

Reports say the clashes in Diyarbakir, a mainly Kurdish city, are continuing.

AFP news agency says this is the first clash with IS militants on Turkish soil since Turkey launched air strikes on IS targets in neighbouring Syria in July.

Militants reportedly opened fire on police during the Diyarbakir raid.

Two officers were killed after booby-traps around one of the houses exploded, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported. Another four officers were injured.

Seven militants were killed while three others were arrested, according to Dogan news agency…”

  4. Russian Ships Near Data Cables Are Too Close for U.S. Comfort

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/26/world/europe/russian-presence-near-undersea-cables-concerns-us.html

WASHINGTON — Russian submarines and spy ships are aggressively operating near the vital undersea cables that carry almost all global Internet communications, raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of tension or conflict.
    Stories from Our Advertisers

The issue goes beyond old worries during the Cold War that the Russians would tap into the cables — a task American intelligence agencies also mastered decades ago. The alarm today is deeper: The ultimate Russian hack on the United States could involve severing the fiber-optic cables at some of their hardest-to-access locations to halt the instant communications on which the West’s governments, economies and citizens have grown dependent.

  5. Double Standards and Doublespeak Pits the US Against Israel

    http://observer.com/2015/10/double-standards-and-double-speak-pits-the-us-against-israel/

About midnight, on October 21st, a man wielding a knife lunged at a border patrol officer. The assailant was shot four times.

Did you hear about this incident? Probably not. That’s because the incident took place took place not somewhere in Israel, where all incidents of this type are recorded and broadcast around the world, but at the border crossing in Calexico, California, just across the border from Mexicali, Mexico.

The reason the man was shot by a Border & Patrol Protection officer and, subsequently, died from his wounds, should be obvious. People wielding knives and lunging at police—or anyone else, intend to injure or kill and it is essential to stop those attacker immediately—before they do their harm and people are killed.

    http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/09/27/mark-levin-on-iran-deal-obama-legacy-will-be-war/

Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin predicted that President Barack Obama’s lasting legacy will be war with Iran.

Speaking at the Values Voters Summit on Saturday, Levin accused the Obama administration of planting the “seeds of war” with the Iran nuclear deal, which Levin said was a “joke” and a ‘”sham” because it will enable Tehran to not only acquire nuclear weapons but develop their ICBM technology to allow them to “put nuclear warheads on missiles and hit our continent.”

Levin said Obama and Congress, by surrendering its treaty power, have “sown the seeds of war.”

BERLIN – Germany’s security and intelligence agencies expressed alarm over the influx of refugees and migrants who harbor radical Islamic views and hatred of Jews, according to a Sunday report in Welt am Sonntag.

According to a security document obtained by the paper and read by top-level agency personnel, “We are importing Islamic extremism, Arab anti-Semitism, national and ethnic conflicts of other peoples as well as a different societal and legal understanding.”

The newspaper wrote that security sources warn that “the integration of hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants Germany is no longer possible in light of the number and already existing parallel societies.”

  8. Refugees will freeze to death, warn EU heads
Leaders warn the continent was “falling apart” trying to deal with the migrant crisis

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/11954037/Refugees-will-freeze-to-death-warn-EU-head.html

Migrants crossing the Balkans will begin freezing to death as winter approaches, the head of European Union has said, as leaders warned the continent was “falling apart” trying to deal with the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War.

As leaders of eastern European countries turned on each other at a foul-tempered emergency summit in Brussels, they said the Schengen visa-free zone and even the European Union itself could be pulled apart as states threw up borders to halt the influx.

Battling strong winds, driving rain, mud and freezing temperatures, these stunning photographs show a slow trek of thousands of migrants making their way to Europe amid the harsh conditions of the oncoming winter.

As one European leader warns the ever growing crisis will see the EU fall apart ‘in weeks’, tens of thousands of people are continuing to try and reach the Eurozone via the arduous Balkans route.

And as these pictures show, they are prepared to do so despite often overwhelmingly difficult conditions.

The column of migrants was filmed from the sky as it weaved through fields in Rigonce, Slovenia, after having passed into the country from Croatia.

Tens of thousands of people are trying to reach central and northern Europe via the Balkans, but often have to wait for days in mud and rain at the Serbian, Croatian and Slovenian borders.

Slovenia’s premier this weekend warned the European Union that it ‘is weeks away from falling apart’ if the bloc cannot agree on a plan to confront the sudden influx of refugees through the Balkans.

    http://www.oann.com/at-least-12-dead-in-pakistan-after-strong-quake-in-afghanistan/

KABUL/PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) – A powerful earthquake struck a remote area of Afghanistan on Monday, shaking the capital Kabul and killing at least 24 people while 76 were killed in neighboring Pakistan, officials said.

The death toll could climb in coming days because communications were down in much of the rugged Hindu Kush mountain range area where the quake was centered.

Reports of deaths had poured in from different areas of both countries by nightfall.

In one of the worst incidents, at least 12 girls were killed in a stampede to get out of their school in the northeastern Afghan province of Takhar.

    http://www.oann.com/free-syrian-army-says-didnt-refuse-russian-military-support/

LONDON (Reuters) – An alliance of Free Syrian Army-related groups in southern Syria said on Monday Russia must stop bombing rebels before they could talk about cooperating with it, saying they hadn’t turned down an offer of support but Moscow must first halt its attacks.

In comments marking a shift in Russia’s position, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday the Russian air force, which has been bombing insurgents in Syria since Sept. 30, would be ready to help the “patriotic” Syrian opposition.

“We didn’t turn down the offer. We just said if the Russians are serious in their offer they should stop immediately targeting our bases and targeting the civil areas,” Issam al- Rayyes, spokesman for the Southern Front of the Free Syrian Army, told the BBC.

“We don’t need the help now, they should stop attacking our bases and then we can talk about future cooperation.”

  13. Belgian military barracks attacked, no one hurt

    http://www.oann.com/belgian-military-barracks-attacked-no-one-hurt/

NAMUR, Belgium (Reuters) – A man wearing a balaclava tried to force his car through the gates of a military barracks in Belgium on Monday, and several shots were fired but no one was hurt, Belgian prosecutors said.

The man tried to enter the barracks in Flawinne, near the city of Namur and fled after failing to do so, prosecutors said.

A suspect was later detained and further information was due to be given at a news conference in the afternoon.

“It’s too early to say if it’s a terrorist attack,” said a spokesman for Belgium’s crisis reaction center.

Belgium foiled what authorities say was a plot to attack police in January, killing two men in one of several raids against an Islamist group that officials said had been about to launch large-scale attacks.

Norway raises forecast for asylum seekers in 2015

GARDERMOEN, Norway (Reuters) – Norway raised its forecasts on Monday for how many asylum seekers will arrive in 2015, as the government prepares to offer an amendment to its 2016 budget that could increase state spending to deal with the increased arrivals.

The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) said asylum applications might reach 30,000 to 35,000, an increase from a forecast of 20,000 to 25,000 made on Oct. 5. Norway’s population is 5.2 million people.

“Now we think it is probably going to be over 30,000 … It is not unthinkable that we are going to land between 30,000 and 35,000,” Christine Wilberg, the section director at UDI in charge of reception centers, told a seminar.

The government of Prime Minister Erna Solberg will soon offer an amendment to Parliament concerning its 2016 budget, which it presented less than three weeks ago, to adjust the cost of more people seeking protection.

  18. UK -Saudi prince demands Britain respects Sharia law amid breakdown between countries

SAUDI Arabia’s ambassador to the UK has warned of the “potentially serious repercussions” of a breakdown in relations between the two countries.

Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, ambassador to the UK complained of a lack of “mutual respect” after a deal to train prison staff in the Gulf state was cancelled.

In an unusual condemnation, the diplomat denounced leader of the opposition Jeremy Corbyn, accusing him of breaching respect by scuppering the trade deal with Riyadh.

The furious prince also railed against an “alarming change in the way Saudi Arabia is discussed in Britain”, warning that the wealthy kingdom would not be “lectured to” and urged respect for its strict system of Sharia law.

He said: “One recent example of this mutual respect being breached was when Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Opposition, claimed that he had convinced Prime Minister David Cameron to cancel a prison consultancy contract with Saudi Arabia worth £5.9 million.”

“This coincided with speculation linking the contract’s cancellation to a number of domestic events in the Kingdom.

He warned: “If the extensive trade links between the two countries are going to be subordinate to certain political ideologies, then this vital commercial exchange is going to be at risk.

“We want this relationship to continue but we will not be lectured to by anyone. Hasty decisions prompted by short-term gains often do more harm than good in the longer term.”

Mr Corbyn lobbied against the contract while urging the Government to intervene over a number of Saudi human rights abuses – including the planned execution of a protester, who was just 17 at the time of his alleged offence.

He said the Government had been “shamed into” ditching the deal – which had initially been the only contract to survive Justice Secretary Michael Gove’s axing of a controversial commercial body.

But Downing street claimed it was a financial decision, unrelated to controversial human rights cases – including the threatened flogging of a 74-year-old British grandfather who breached strict alcohol laws.

Karl Andree has served his sentence but is still locked up as Saudi officials wait to conduct the lashings, according to his family, despite David Cameron pledging a personal intervention.

But the prince demanded that UK top brass respects the Gulf state’s Sharia law.

He said: “Our justice system is based on Sharia law and implemented by our independent judiciary.

“Just as we respect the local traditions, customs, laws and religion of Britain, we expect Britain to grant us this same respect.”

The Prime Minister has repeatedly defended the UK’s close relations with the Saudis – pointing to the role its intelligence played in foiling a plot to bomb a freight aircraft in UK airspace.

The prince said: “To further our shared strategic interests in the years ahead as we confront a variety of threats, it is crucial that Saudi Arabia be treated with the respect it has unwaveringly afforded the United Kingdom.”

  19. SAUDI ARABIA – One dead, 12 hurt in Saudi mosque blast: state TV

One person was killed and a dozen wounded on Monday at a bombing of a mosque in Saudi Arabia’s southern Najran region bordering Yemen, state television reported.

“One person killed in Najran mosque bombing, 12 injured and the suspect is injured,” Al-Ekhbariya news channel reported.

The interior ministry confirmed a blast had occurred but had no immediate details.

“A person went to the mosque and did an explosion,” a spokesman told AFP.

The television report did not specify whether the mosque belonged to the kingdom’s Sunni majority or the Shiite minority.

But roughly half of Najran’s population belongs to the Ismaili Shiite community.

Most of Saudi Arabia’s Shiites live in Eastern Province, where they have been targeted four times in the past year by bombings and shootings linked to the Islamic State group of Sunni extremists, who consider them heretics.

Ministry: one killed after Saudi mosque blast

The Saudi interior ministry on Monday said at least one was “martyred” after a suicide bomber targeted worshipers who were exiting a mosque after finishing their prayers in the Saudi city of Najran, close to the Yemeni frontier, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

While the ministry said one was killed, Al Arabiya News Channel reported that at least three people were killed and 19 others were wounded.

Initial reports also said the attacker targeted the worshipers inside al-Mashhad mosque in the southwestern city but the Saudi interior ministry said the incident took place at the courtyard of the mosque.

Further information about the perpetrators behind the deadly incident was not given.

This is not the first time mosques have been targeted by bombers in the kingdom.

  20. LEBANON Saudi prince held in record Beirut airport drug bust: Security source

A Saudi prince and four others were detained on Monday in Lebanon in the largest drug bust in the history of the Beirut airport, a security source said.

Saudi prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz and four others were detained by airport security while allegedly “attempting to smuggle about two tons of Captagon pills and some cocaine,” a security source told AFP.

“The smuggling operation is the largest one that has been foiled through the Beirut International Airport,” the source said on condition of anonymity.

Captagon is the brand name for the amphetamine phenethylline, a synthetic stimulant. The banned drug is consumed mainly in the Middle East and has reportedly been widely used by fighters in Syria.

The security source said the drugs had been packed into cases that were waiting to be loaded onto a private plane that was headed to Saudi Arabia.

The five Saudi citizens were still in the airport and would be questioned by Lebanon’s customs authority, the source added.

In April 2014, security forces foiled an attempt to smuggle 15 million capsules of Captagon hidden in shipping containers full of corn from Beirut’s port.

Lebanon’s state news agency also reported Monday’s drug bust, saying the private plane was to head to Riyadh and was carrying 40 suitcases full of Captagon.

Saudi Arabia’s large royal family has had past run-ins with authorities in various countries.

Late last month, a Saudi prince was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly trying to force a woman to perform oral sex on him at a Beverly Hills mansion.

But authorities decided not to pursue the charge, citing a lack of evidence.

In 2013, a Saudi princess was accused in Los Angeles of enslaving a Kenyan woman as a housemaid, but the charges were also eventually dropped.

Saudi prince on trial over ‘plot to smuggle drugs in his airliner’

A Saudi prince went on trial in his absence in Paris yesterday accused of being involved in a plot to use his private jet to smuggle £50 million of cocaine into Europe.

Prince Nayef al-Chaalan faces charges relating to his alleged participation in, or organisation of, an operation to fly nearly two tons of the drug from Colombia to an airfield six miles from Paris.

Police have said she is not a suspect.

Some 111 kilograms (17st) of the illegal drug was seized by police in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Armed officers arrested two men and two women following the raid which followed a long surveillance investigation, while two more suspects are on the run.

Much of the operation involved watching an apartment just a short distance from a property belonging to Mr Sarkozy, who was mayor of Neuilly.

The flat belongs to Princess Norah Bint Abdulaziz, a Saudi Arabian Princess, who is said to have known nothing about what was going on and visits the flats for no more than two weeks a year.

    • SPIELFELD – Austria: Fights break out as thousands of refugees left stranded in ‘no man’s land’

Fights broke between refugees after several thousands of migrants were left stranded in “no man’s land” on the Slovenia-Austria border for seven hours near the Austrian town of Spielfeld, Monday. Without water for an extended amount of time tensions snapped, with several refugees including children collapsing.

  22. I don’t understand all this:
CIA-Armed Rebels March On Assad Homeland
The Russian bombs were supposed to be helping Syria’s dictator. Instead, the rebels are advancing.

Three weeks of Russian aerial bombardment in Syria hasn’t helped the Assad regime in its push north of Damascus.
Social media has been awash with images of burning Syrian Army tanks, wrecked by TOW anti-tank missiles supplied (via Saudi Arabia) by the U.S. to certain CIA-backed anti-Assad militias.
Far from being pushed out, the rebels are actually pushing in on the eastern hills of Latakia, the coastal province that is the Assad family’s homeland – and the area where Russia has constructed a forward operation base and headquarters for its Syrian adventure.
Western and regional intelligence services have displayed a newfound willingness to allow more defensive weaponry to their proxies arrayed against the pro-Assad forces.

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/10/24/cia-armed-rebels-march-on-assad-homeland.html

    • Bombing alone isn’t enough, to really do damage you have to follow up with a ground attack. Putin and Assad will try to slow them down with bombing until they can free up ground troops or bring more from Russia. In fact the latter makes more sense and they are probably on the way right now.

    • This is to be expected, one of the things about facing multiple foes you have to keep them from combining into a force that can threaten you. Russia is in the position that we were until Obama took office, as long as the Russian government doesn’t lose its nerve and pull out they can’t lose. Obama pulled us out way too early and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

      • I can’t see Putin sacrificing his base on the coast. Nor can I see him yielding more than he chooses to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
There’s disinformation coming at us from all sides; it’ll sort itself out eventually.

        • J.E. Dyer (who I just found out was born and raised in Oklahoma) says that Putin is making Syria a colony of Russia. This make sense since Russia needs a port in the Med that doesn’t require permission for Turkey for the ships to get into the Med. One thing that has always hampered Russia is a war water port that isn’t in the Black Sea. Having to secure Turkish permission to sail their warships from the Black Sea to the Med is a big problem in wartime. Yes they could that the region around the passage through Turkey but this would be bloody and take more time then would be acceptable. Syria gives them a base that eliminates this problem.

I find the speculation that Putin starting a colony in the Middle East where there is no direct contact with Russia intriguing Putin is rebuilding the Russian Empire and may want to expand from the traditional areas. If this is correct it will be the first true colony in that region since the Roman Empire. Does his actions signal the start of a new Cold War, probably he sure has been acting provocative towards the US since Obama has weakened our military. I don’t think he is thinking we won’t rebuild as a major nation but he is telling us that he is capable of being a major problem and enemy. Will this start a recolonization of various parts of the world? I doubt it but it is possible. There are other questions this raises that you can think of, some of them I probably haven’t thought of.

  23. Iran Slams U.S. Jailing of Engineer for Documents Smuggling

The Iranian government has criticized a U.S. court’s decision to sentence an engineer with dual citizenship to eight years in prison for trying to send sensitive military documents to Iran. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said, “the sentence for Mozaffar Khazaee is totally unfair.”
Khazaee, 61, was sentenced Friday after seeking to export 1,500 documents containing trade secrets and 600 documents with sensitive defense technology.
Prosecutors said Khazaee, a former employee of U.S. defense contractors, stole and shared with contacts in Iran materials related to the Air Force F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, the F-22 Raptor and other U.S. military jet engine programs.

  24. One Year of the Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula

Sinai militancy changed over 2015, following the decision of the peninsula’s main violent jihadi group – Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis – to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State organization and become Wilayat Sinai. The developments have created challenges for Egypt and for Israel, but they also provide an opening to weaken the group’s entrenchment in North Sinai.

For the first time, the local population needs the Egyptian state to protect it from militancy. To exploit this opportunity, Egypt should do more than continue with its military campaigns, and Egypt can counter the Islamic State narrative in both word and action. Israel also watches its western border closely, and provides Egypt with intelligence.

At the same time, questions remain if Egypt can destroy or even contain Wilayat Sinai. The IDF is preparing for the likelihood that the group will strike across the border: targeting Israeli civilian towns or military positions the same way it has attacked Egyptian security posts.

  25. Hate Comes to Westchester
A local Democrat provides a platform for left-wing anti-Jewish hate

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260566/hate-comes-westchester-daniel-greenfield

Greenburgh, a town in Westchester, an area which has some of the fastest growing Jewish suburban communities in the country, is an unlikely place to find hate groups holding forth in its Town Hall auditorium. It’s certainly not the place where you expect a man linked to a shadowy terrorist bank to be promoting hatred against Jews and Israel with the acquiescence of the town supervisor.

And yet, bomb-sniffing dogs and metal detectors were the order of the day in the Greenburgh Town Hall as Jewish protesters gathered outside while inside opponents of Israel denounced the Jewish State.

The Jewish Rapid Response Coalition had come to stand up to hate, but found itself blocked and harassed while hate groups enjoyed the use of a taxpayer funded building. The event went ahead against the recommendation of Police Chief Chris McNerney. It went ahead even though its main speaker had defended terrorism and had authored an article titled, “Did Israel Really Think Hamas Would Turn the Other Cheek?”

Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), a sponsor of the event, was notorious for its participation in pro-Hamas events. Signs at rallies the organization had cosponsored in the past had included messages such as “Gaza is the Real Holocaust.”

Local observers, including the Edgemont Community Council, attributed the disaster, which had put the town in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, to one man; Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.

Feiner, a two-time failed congressional candidate, is a controversial figure even among Democrats. Ten years ago the New York Times had wondered what it was about him that seemed to “ignite in his fellow Democrats such a zealous desire to defeat him?”

  26. Islam and 9/11 Not Connected, 12-Year-Olds Taught in America
How stealth Jihad gets at our kids.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260536/islam-and-911-not-connected-12-year-olds-taught-matthew-vadum

Parents in Illinois are outraged that a public school there is painting a positive picture of Islam and teaching impressionable young students that Islam bears no responsibility for the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States.

This is just the latest incident demonstrating a growing trend in American education to portray the intolerant, slavery-sanctioning, woman-oppressing, genocidal, and relentlessly expansionist Religion of Peace as a misunderstood force for good or as just another world religion, no better or worse than the others. The relativist, multiculturalist, pro-Sharia compliance perspective is that a few bad, weird people who just happened to be Muslims flew airplanes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field on Sept. 11, 2001, and that these jihadist extremists in no way represent the core teachings of the Koran and the whole Islamic community, even though Muslims have been slaughtering, enslaving, and otherwise subjugating unbelievers for 1,400 years.

One of the education sector’s gatekeepers Mark Halwachs, superintendent of High Mount School in Swansea, Ill., is proud to be serving humanity by presenting Islam as a positive thing that had absolutely nothing to do with the horrors of 9/11. The Kindergarten-to-8th Grade school he oversees has no plans to abandon its Islamic misinformation efforts and the teaching of revisionist history.

Halwachs, who sounds very much like a spokesman for the pro-Islamist Southern Poverty Law Center, made a series of admissions in an interview with the Belleville News-Democrat. The newspaper account states:

  27. Analysis: Russia-Iran alliance tactical, not strategic
Russia seeks to solidify Assad’s regime in an Alawite mini-state in the face of a Sunni onslaught funded by Gulf states.

Christian Russia and Shi’ite Iran’s military alliance to help keep Syrian President Bashar Assad in power is fraught with underlying tension, which could be exploited by Israel or the US.

Iran’s revolutionary expansionist agenda and its targeting of Israel is at odds with Russia’s long-term goals in the region.

Russia seeks to solidify Assad’s regime in an Alawite mini-state in the face of a Sunni onslaught funded by Gulf states.

Russia President Vladimir Putin’s military buildup and activity in Syria caught the West off guard just as he did in other hot spots, such as Ukraine and Georgia. Putin is also filling in the vacuum of a retreating US in the region.

Iranian and other allied Shi’ite militia forces including Hezbollah, were not able to prop up Assad’s military alone and needed Russia’s help.

This leaves Russia as the most powerful player in Syria, and because its strategic interests do not entirely coincide with those of Iran’s Shi’ite axis, Israel and the US could seek some kind of deal or accommodation with Russia that would limit the Shi’ite axis.

    http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Analysis-Russia-Iranian-alliance-tactical-not-strategic-430057

    • Remember Dyer’s analysis about how Putin is making at least a portion of Syria into a colony of Russia, they will let Assad play ruler but the Russian General will be in charge. Russia wants this colony for several reason including wanting a base for a squadron of naval vessels that isn’t dependent on a NATO member or a wanna be Caliph for its passage into the Med.

Taking this a little father Putin probably doesn’t want Israel destroyed but does want them dependent on Russia instead of the US. Israel’s continued existence gives Putin some leveralge with the Arabs and he can play them against each other to keep both loyal to him. Putin is playing a dangerous game for very high stakes and so far he hasn’t made any mistakes that I have seen. He is the wild card that most people are ignoring because it has been a couple of decades since Russia was a player in the game of world politics. I wonder how much he has to do with China’s moves? that thought just occurred to me but he could be playing them as well as the Arabs, the Europeans and us.

      • No, unlike 0, he’s not an ideological enemy of the State of Israel.

And Bibi? You act respectful with a gentleman who can blow your planes out of the sky over the Golan, the rest of Syria, or Lebanon.

There’s constant chatter among Israelis over Russia’s every move. The Russian community here is transfixed – they’ve got skin in the game both in Russia and Israel.

        We do know this much:
In 2008 Putin had a personal meeting with then-Pres. Shimon Peres at the Beijing Olympics. He gave advanced warning of an imminent attack on Georgia. It gave Israel time to get private defense contractors and everybody else out. Very quietly.

And when Bibi called Putin earlier this month about deconfliction, Putin rolled out the red carpet within hours. They behaved like grownups.

        • That info gives me more to think about, we are entering into a new era and Russia is still an enemy to the US, but I don’t think Putin wants to destroy us, he just wants to be as strong as we were before Obama.

  28. Leaked Docs Show CIA Chief Urged Obama To Engage Iran’s Leaders, Downplay Terror Ties

  29. Direct Experience: The One Benefit of Accepting Muslim Migrants
If the West cannot learn about Islam from doctrine, history, and current events, then let it learn from up close and personal contact.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260568/direct-experience-one-benefit-accepting-muslim-raymond-ibrahim

A silver lining exists in the dust cloud being beat up by the marching feet of millions of Muslim men migrating into the West: those many Europeans and Americans, who could never understand Islam in theory, will now have the opportunity to understand it through direct and personal experience.

Perhaps then they will awaken to reality?

The fact is, most Western people have had very little personal interaction with Muslims. Moreover, because Muslims in the West are still a tiny minority—in the U.S., they are reportedly less than one percent of the population—those few Muslims that Westerners do interact with are often on their best behavior, being surrounded as they are by a sea of infidels (according to the doctrine of taqiyya).

And although there are a few media outlets and websites that document the hard but ugly truths of Islam, these are drowned out by the overarching “Narrative” that emanates from the indoctrination centers of the West (schools, universities, news rooms, Hollywood, political talking heads, et al).

According to the Narrative, there is nothing to fear from Islam. If violence and mayhem seem to follow Muslims wherever they go—not to mention plague the entire Islamic world—that is because Muslims are angry, frustrated, and aggrieved, usually at things the West has done.

      • The left won’t but the useful idiots may learn to pay attention to people other then leftists. But there is a certain percentage of the useful idiots will not realize their mistakes until they are being killed by the invaders.

  30. UK Rapist Escapes Deportation by Posing as Syrian Refugee
    Syrian refugees are magic

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/260577/uk-rapist-escapes-deportation-posing-syrian-daniel-greenfield

Europe has a real Syrian Refugee problem. These days any criminal or migrant can just say the magic words, “Syrian Refugee” and that’s that. Because Syrian refugees are magic. They’re our moral superiors because they tore their country apart killing each other over whether Sunni or Shiite Islam is right. So now they, and anyone claiming to be one of them, is empowered to do anything to Europeans.

An illegal immigrant who attacked and sexually molested a woman within days of smuggling himself into Britain looks set to avoid deportation by claiming he is a Syrian refugee.

A court heard how Abdulrahman Abunasir continues to claim he is a Syrian refugee, despite the fact he allegedly told French authorities who detained him previously that he was Palestinian.

Abunasir submitted his claim for asylum whilst serving an 18-month prison sentence for a horrific random sex attack. The immigrant attacked and molested a woman outside a cafe in London in 2013 as she walked to her boyfriend’s home.

Experts who put the sex attacker through a language analysis test concluded there was a “very high degree of certainty that he was from Egypt” and confirmed he could not answer even the most basic questions about his supposed homeland.

So he might be Egyptian. He might be from Israel. He’s probably not from Syria… but why not send him there anyway? Preferably while wearing a giant cross around his neck. Or maybe an I Love Israel t-shirt.

  31. The Palestinian Terror Wave and Moral Equivalency

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260562/palestinian-terror-wave-and-moral-equivalency-joseph-puder

Jordan’s ambassador, Dina Kawar, called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) last Friday (October 16, 2015) to deal with the escalating violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The session was televised on C-SPAN. The UNSC is expected to issue a statement exhorting both sides “to show restraint.” State Department spokesperson John Kirby expressed the Obama’s administration’s concern about Israel’s “use of excessive force.” He said, “We have certainly seen some reports of what many would consider excessive use of force.” Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was quick to respond saying: “What do you think would happen in New York if you saw people rushing into a crowd trying to murder people? What do you think they would do? Do you think they would do anything differently than we are doing?”

When it comes to Jews and Israel, the double standard and hypocrisy were displayed again, this time by the 15 members of the UNSC. Apparently, they expect Israeli Jews to submit to Arab Palestinian killers to “avoid excessive force.” That would please the 57 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and their western lackeys. It would also fit with the long held role assigned to the Jews as people who do not defend themselves, as was the case for Jews in Europe and the Muslim world.

The speeches by the Permanent Members (U.S., Britain, China, France and Russia) echoed one another. The essential message from all of them was “both sides must end the violence.” In order not to anger the Arab-Muslim Bloc, the truth was discarded and replaced by formulaic verbiage that removed the context and the facts on the ground. Moral equivalency was used instead. The facts are crystal clear. Incited Arab Palestinians and Arab Israelis are murdering innocent Israeli civilians without provocation of any kind: old people and young and civilians and soldiers are being targeted for only one reason – because they are Jews. Fortunately, Israeli security forces, and in some cases, individual citizens who were by-standers were close enough to prevent more murders by shooting the killers or incapacitating them. Under any universal law or code of justice, self-defense is permissible, and defending the unarmed and innocent civilians is in fact a civic duty.

  32. Escalation of Child Execution in Iran
How the nuclear deal has signaled to the Mullahs that there’s nothing to stop their human rights abuses.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260563/escalation-child-execution-iran-dr-majid-rafizadeh

While Iranian ruling clerics enjoy reaping the economic benefits from the nuclear deal, they also feel triumphant when it comes to the Obama administration’s total disregard of the increasing human rights violations in Iran.

To sustain his nuclear deal, President Obama appears to have made a Faustian bargain with the Iranian leaders: He turns a blind eye to Iran’s sponsorship of terrorism, repressive methods to crack down on social and political freedoms, egregious human rights abuses, while Iran verbally and on the surface, binds itself to the nuclear deal.

This week, Iran’s parliament passed a bill supporting the nuclear deal which was primarily reached between President Obama and the Islamic Republic. Some policy makers were surprised that Iran passed the bill. But why would Iranian leaders not sign a deal that would bring them financial rewards and allow them to be as repressive as they please both domestically and regionally? As I mentioned several weeks ago, it was easy to predict that the Iranian parliament (Majlis) would pass the deal to receive further rewards.

Simultaneously, Iran’s judiciary system has become more emboldened and empowered. This can be seen when they are issuing death sentences at unprecedented levels, particularly for children. Last week, Iran’s Islamic court executed a juvenile offender on October 13, 2015 in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz. Fatemeh Salbehi, was arrested at the age of 16 because her husband was found dead at home.

  33. ROBERT KNIGHT: What political correctness has wrought

    http://freedomsback.com/content-partners/robert-knight-what-political-correctness-has-wrought/

If you’re wondering how America and Western Europe went from marriage-centered societies to post-Christian sexual anarchy abetted by massive government growth enforced by brutal political correctness in just a few decades, let’s just say it was no accident.

    Here’s a brief history:

The progressive left has been in a death struggle with religion, the family, capitalism and morality itself since becoming a political and philosophical force during the French Revolution.

With the advent of Marxism in the mid-19th century, the battle intensified, with the left eagerly expecting the collapse of capitalism.

When the West failed to succumb to an economic and political upheaval of the type that seized Russia in 1917, the strategy changed. To liberate people from free market capitalism, it became necessary to liberate people first from bourgeois morality.

Man’s natural inclination is to provide for himself and his own extended family, then for his neighbors and community. Socialism must remove existing loyalties and institutions in order to replace them with government power. That’s why progressives have been a major force behind abortion, easy divorce, single-parent welfare incentives, pornography, collective child-rearing and sexual excess of all kinds. All of these manifestations of the progressive disease weaken the natural family. As families crumble, the state steps in to take their place.

Italian communist Antonio Gramsci saw the value of this in the 1920s, calling for his fellow revolutionaries to “capture the culture,” that is, infiltrate the institutions that transmit cultural values. So they did, especially in the universities.

    • Some of the nicest, most generous, kind-hearted people I know are dedicated to the exact progressivism you’re talking about. They’re like Mr. McGoo. Woops! Fifty million die in WWII because the left stops the West from reacting in time. Sorry! Millions of African children die of malaria because of the erroneous banning of DDT by the left. My bad! As another boatload of refugees drown because the left won’t let the authorities be decisive about such migration tactics. And they don’t even seem aware that they’re doing anything at all and they never stop pushing in the same misguided direction. What a crazy world we live in. I truly do not understand it…

      • People who think of the collective never consider what the individuals are have to pay in lives as well as money, to them all lives are expendable as long as they are expended in a way that advances the left. They use the compassion of the rest of the world against us. They don’t care about the numbers who are dying and since most have bought into the overcrowding myth some are secretly happy that so many are dying.

    • The attack on the family has been by the Church and Governments to make themselves the voice of the dominant Father God or Mother State respectively. This way they are able to interrupt the development of young minds.

Thus, after accurately pointing out the fault other, they will then praise, “My Lord Muppet,” from a book or, “The Greater Fairness,” from a mantra. Thinking by association they represent the essence The Holy Soul or the Holy Spirit.

Whenever Jesus heads a family, the male is made female and the wife is a gobby self-opinionated free-agent. Whenever State-Socialism controls, the female is made male and the sperm-server is a gobby self-opinionated free agent.

Going around in circles chasing their tails for perfection.

Neither can take your family… unless you let them.

    • The man has a lot of guts and is speaking the truth, I know a lot of people who think the same way he does.

  34. Islamic State Sends Hit Squads to Target Christian Refugees

    http://www.clarionproject.org/news/isis-sends-hit-squads-targeting-christian-refugees#

The Islamic State is sending hit squads into Syrian refugee camps to kill Christians. The strategy is part of a larger commitment to wipe out Christianity, according to a former Islamic State jihadi, who was sent to a refugee camp but changed his mind about his mission.

Witnesses to the murders are afraid to speak out for fear they will be targeted next.

One aid worker, quoted by the Sunday Express, said, “They’re like a mafia. People are even killed inside the camps, and the refugees are afraid to say if they saw somebody get killed. If you ask them, they’ll say, ‘I don’t know, I was asleep’.”

The jihadi squads are also kidnapping Christian girls and selling them into sex slavery.

“The last time I went inside a camp, I had a policeman with me,’ said the aid worker. “The camps are dangerous because they have IS, Iraqi militias and Syrian militias. It’s another place for gangs. They’re killing inside the camps, and they’re buying and selling ladies and even girls.”

In September, Lebanese Education Minister Elias Bou Saab estimated 20,000 Islamic State radicals had infiltrated the Syrian refugees camps and were planning to get into Europe with the stream of refugees.

  35. FBI: Virtually No Database Exists for Syrians Entering US
‘It’s a disaster of biblical proportions,’ says Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, regarding the wide open opportunity for ISIS to attack the West.

    http://www.clarionproject.org/news/fbi-virtually-no-database-exists-syrians-entering-us

Virtually no database of information exists to screen Syrian refugees coming into the United States, according to the FBI Director James Comey.

The statements were made by Comey while testifying to the House Judiciary Committee about the security risks involved in taking in Syrian refugees.

Following the Iraq war, refugees were screened against a database of fingerprints garnered from IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices). However today, Comey said, “The only thing we can query is information that we have. So, if we have no information on someone, they’ve never crossed our radar screen, they’ve never been a ripple in the pond, there will be no record of them there and so it will be challenging.”

The FBI will base its assessment on some fingerprints and a “variety of intelligence sources that may help us understand who these people are,” Comey said, while acknowledging that, “We had a whole lot more information about Iraq because our soldiers had been there and had run into people and collected information.”

During the hearing, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) pointed out, according to the U.N., more than 43 million people worldwide are now displaced because of conflicts. Children constitute close to 41 percent of all refugees worldwide and women almost half.

  36. UK Gov’t to Probe Sharia Councils ‘Parallel’ Legal System
Evidence has emerged that sharia is ‘misused and applied in a way which is incompatible with the law,’ and is discriminating against women.

    http://www.clarionproject.org/news/uk-govt-probe-sharia-councils-parallel-legal-systems

The UK government has finally agreed to investigate how sharia councils in Britain represent a parallel legal system, one that particularly discriminates against women and fails to protect them from violent husbands.

Baroness Cox, a member of the House of Lords, has been a leading voice over the years speaking out against the dangers of sharia law. Friday, she led a debate in parliament about quasi-legal systems in Britain, such as sharia councils.

The move comes amid the government’s unveiling of its “Counter-Extremism Strategy” released last week. The document states the “overriding principle” of any religious arbitration body is that it must “operate within the rule of law in the UK.”

Evidence has emerged that sharia law is “misused and applied in a way which is incompatible with the law,” the document states. It notes, “There is only one rule of law in our country, which provides rights and security for every citizen. We will never countenance allowing an alternative, informal system of law, informed by religious principles, to operate in competition with it.”

Drawing on research provided by Cox, the government document acknowledges some women were “unaware of their legal rights to leave violent husbands and are being pressurized to attend reconciliation sessions with their husbands despite legal injunctions in place to protect them from violence.”
