“Abdul Shalabi, a Guantanamo Bay detainee who was once thought to have been a bodyguard for Osama bin Laden, has been transferred to Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Defense Department announced on Tuesday.

Shalabi’s transfer from Guantanamo was the second announced in less than a week, leaving 114 detainees at the naval base that the Obama administration is pushing to close.

“The United States is grateful to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its willingness to support ongoing U.S. efforts to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. The United States coordinated with the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure this transfer took place consistent with appropriate security and humane treatment measures,” the Defense Department said in a statement.

It announced last week that Younis Abdurrahman Chekkouri had been transferred to Morocco.

The remaining 114 detainees being held at Guantanamo fall into two categories: Those who can be transferred to other countries and those who the United States must continue to hold…”

      • Stampede kills more than 450 at Hajj pilgrimage near Mecca (CNN, Sep 24, 2015)
        http://edition.cnn.com/2015/09/24/middleeast/stampede-hajj-pilgrimage/index.html

“A stampede during one of the last rituals of the Hajj season — the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca — has killed more than 450 people and injured 719 others in Saudi Arabia.

The stampede occurred Thursday morning during the ritual known as “stoning the devil” in the tent city of Mina, about 2 miles from Mecca, Islam’s holiest city.

Hundreds have been killed in past years during the same ceremony, and it comes only 13 days after a crane collapse killed more than 100 people at another major Islamic holy site, the Grand Mosque in Mecca…”

        • Hajj stampede: At least 717 killed in Saudi Arabia (BBC, Sep 24, 2015)
          http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34346449

“At least 717 people taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage have been killed in a stampede near the Islamic holy city of Mecca, officials in Saudi Arabia say.

Another 805 people were injured in the incident at Mina, which occurred as two million pilgrims were taking part in the Hajj’s last major rite.

They converge on Mina to throw stones at pillars representing the devil.

Preparations for the Hajj were marred when a crane collapsed at Mecca’s Grand Mosque this month, killing 109 people.

Mina, a large valley about 5km (3 miles) from Mecca, is the location of the three Jamarat pillars and also houses more than 160,000 tents where pilgrims spend the night during the pilgrimage.

The Saudi civil defence directorate said in a statement that the stampede occurred on Thursday morning at the junction of Street 204 and Street 223, as pilgrims walked towards the five-storey structure which surrounds the pillars, known as the Jamarat Bridge.

The incident happened when there was a “sudden increase” in the number of pilgrims heading towards pillars, the statement said.

This “resulted in a stampede among the pilgrims and the collapse of a large number of them”, it added.

Security personnel and the Saudi Red Crescent were “immediately” deployed to prevent more people heading towards the area, the directorate said…”

  8. Refugees keep streaming in as Europe acts to stem the tide

    http://www.oann.com/refugees-keep-streaming-in-as-europe-acts-to-stem-the-tide/

LESBOS, Greece (Reuters) – A tide of refugees from the Middle East and Asia showed no sign of abating on Thursday, after European Union leaders began the task of trying to prevent tens of thousands of people fleeing war or poverty from streaming unchecked through the continent.

After weeks of recrimination and buck-passing, a summit on Wednesday produced a glimmer of political unity on measures to help the refugees closer to home, or at least register their asylum requests as soon as they enter the EU.

However, all attempts in recent weeks to stem the flow have only prompted more desperate people to make a dash for Europe before the doors are shut or winter makes the trip too perilous.

  9. Turkey to seek support of world leaders for its militant crackdown

    http://www.oann.com/turkey-to-seek-support-of-world-leaders-for-its-militant-crackdown/

ANKARA, (Reuters) – Turkey’s Prime Minister will tell world leaders next week Ankara can play a key role in stopping a spread of terrorism, including Islamic State, but expected understanding for its own battle against Kurdish militants.

Washington, while considering the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) a terrorist group, sees the affiliated YPG Kurdish militia in Syria as its chief ally in fighting Islamic state there. The link unsettles Turkey and is likely to be raised in more explicit terms by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu when the United Nations General Assembly convenes in New York next week.

NATO member Turkey has opened its air bases to a U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State fighters, but the focus of its own air strikes has been Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants. Fighting has escalated since a truce between the PKK, seeking broader Kurdish rights, and the army broke down in July.

      • He knows what is coming and expects the US to raise once again, he isn’t stupid enough to think we are down for good, in boxing terms we are taking a mandatory 8 count before we start fighting again.

        • Uncle Vlad happens to be a superior martial artist. I’d like to see him in a cage facing our 0. Then throw what’s left of both of them to the pigs.

Uncle knows that Frau Merkel has a pathological fear of dogs. He met with her once, cameras everywhere, and brought in his most vicious-looking wolfhound. She was spellbound with terror but managed to cover. Later she described the incident as a parable of some sort. Didn’t make much sense, but it seem a character thumbnail of the two of him.

          • I would pay good money to see that fight but I don’t think it would last long, Obama has very little training or experience.

Yes Putin learns the enemies weakness and then plays head games to dominate them, this is part of his KGB training.

  10. Iraq: German army chief fighting ISIS found dead in hotel

Ambulances rushed to the Cristal Erbil Hotel in the northern Kurdish city of Erbil after a German army chief fighting for the US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) was found dead in his hotel room, Thursday.

    • At least 25 people were killed and dozens wounded after a twin blast at the al-Balili mosque in Sanaa, Thursday. A man reportedly detonated a suicide belt at the entrance of the mosque as worshippers fled the building following an initial blast inside the compound.

  11. Obama’s Genocidal Treason
Obama’s final legacy may be the death of millions of Americans.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260196/obamas-genocidal-treason-daniel-greenfield

No government has the blood of more American soldiers on its hands today than the government of Iran. From Lebanon to Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia to Iraq, Iran has been killing American soldiers for decades.

241 in Beirut. 19 at the Khobar Towers. Over 500 in Iraq and Afghanistan. The last time the United States officially fought Iran was under Reagan. But Iran has never stopped killing Americans. There is no reason to believe that it will stop once it has the nuclear weapons that Obama is helping its leaders obtain.

The last time left-wing radicals aided the nuclear program of an open enemy of the United States, they were put on trial for it. The sentencing judge at the time said that because “the nature of Russian terrorism is now self-evident” there was no further room for claims that no harm had been done.

“I believe your conduct in putting into the hands of the Russians the A-bomb years before our best scientists predicted Russia would perfect the bomb has already caused, in my opinion, the Communist aggression in Korea, with the resultant casualties exceeding 50,000 and who knows but that millions more of innocent people may pay the price of your treason. Indeed, by your betrayal you undoubtedly have altered the course of history to the disadvantage of our country,” Judge Kaufman stated.

These words of the Rosenberg verdict apply equally well to Obama’s betrayal on Iran. What the Rosenbergs did for Stalin, Obama did for the Ayatollah Khamenei.

Obama’s dirty nuclear deal with Iran has already sped along Iran’s aggression across the region. The more concessions Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry made, the more aggressive Iran became. It’s now involved in wars across the region that have already dragged the United States into its reach.

If Iran is allowed to go nuclear, these wars will become much worse and much more devastating.

  12. Mandatory Muslim Immigration in the EU
The European Union’s plan to force poorer nations to accept thousands of refugees.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260225/mandatory-muslim-immigration-eu-arnold-ahlert

On Tuesday, national sovereignty gave way to mandatory multiculturalism in the European Union. A plan to relocate an additional 120,000 Middle Eastern migrants was imposed by EU ministers over the objections four Eastern European countries adamantly opposed to the plan. Slovakia’s Robert Fico illuminated the resistance. “As long as I am prime minister, mandatory quotas will not be implemented on Slovak territory,” he declared in Bratislava.

Slovakia was joined by the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary. Finland abstained from the vote. Yet despite the quartet’s disapproval, the Justice and Home Affairs Committee, led by France and Germany, pushed through the plan proposed by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker during his annual State of the Union address in Strasbourg earlier this month. The plan called for 160,000 migrants to be forcibly redistributed from Italy, Greece and Hungary to all other member states, save Britain, Ireland and Denmark, who remain exempt from EU treaties. In addition, Junker called for a review of the “Dublin system” that determines which EU nation is responsible for asylum claims.

In order to make the plan more politically palatable, 66,000 migrants are currently slated for relocation, joining 40,000 migrants approved for asylum in July. The remaining 54,000 had originally been allocated to Hungary where they are currently camped out. But Budapest refused to abide a plan it characterized as an invitation to economic migrants. Thus, those migrants will be reallocated in 2016, possibly among Greece, Italy, Croatia and Austria, bringing the overall total of relocated migrants to 160,000. The plan is ostensibly limited to Syrian, Iraqi and Eritrean asylum-seekers, but the details have yet to be worked out. All of those migrants are people who have purportedly crossed the Mediterranean Sea from Turkey and northern Africa, fleeing the unrelenting violence in Iraq and Syria.

  13. Draw Muhammad’ Winner Releases ‘The Infidel 3’
Pigman wages jihad for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260222/draw-muhammad-winner-releases-infidel-3-mark-tapson

When cartoonist Molly Norris brought the wrath of Islamic fundamentalists everywhere upon her after unwittingly initiating Everybody Draw Muhammad Day five years ago, she went into hiding on the advice of the FBI and hasn’t been seen or heard from publicly since. Bosch Fawstin brought similar wrath upon himself for winning the recent Draw Muhammad contest in Garland, Texas, at an event where a pair of jihadists were shot and killed trying to assassinate those inside, much like the massacre at the Charlie Hebdo offices in France. Not only did Fawstin not go into hiding, but he has just released his most aggressively anti-Islamic work yet: the graphic novel The Infidel #3.

Besides being a former Muslim himself, award-winning cartoonist Bosch Fawstin is a FrontPage contributing artist and the author/illustrator of, among other works, The Infidel series of graphic novels. Full disclosure: Fawstin is also a friend of mine, whom I have previously written about and interviewed here on FrontPage Mag. In that interview, Fawstin observed that “comics have been as truthless and as gutless as any corner of pop culture about Islam and Jihad since 9/11.” That can’t be said about The Infidel, particularly the latest installment, released today.

A story within a story, The Infidel series is about the escalating conflict between twin brothers Killian Duke and Salaam Duka, whose lives veer in polar opposite directions after the 9/11 attacks. While Salaam submits fully to Islam, Killian (who curiously resembles his creator Fawstin) responds to the atrocity by creating a counter-jihad superhero comic book called Pigman. As Killian says, “For me, there is before 9/11 and after 9/11. Seeing fellow Americans jumping to their deaths from the Towers brought out in me… a desire to kill. But I’m not a soldier. I’m an artist.” This mirrors what Fawstin himself says: “This story has allowed me to say all that I’ve wanted to say about this post-9/11 world in the best way I can say it, through comics.”

  14. No, RT is Really Quite Successful as a Russian Influence Operation
Putin has spent $2 billion and gotten more bang for his buck

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/260218/no-rt-really-quite-successful-russian-influence-daniel-greenfield

A Daily Beast article claims that RT, Putin’s pet propaganda network, is a failure.

From 2005 to 2013, the Russian government spent 61.6 billion rubles—about $2 billion—on RT despite one of the current documents calling it “essentially an internet media company.”…

The RIA Novosti team also contested RT’s much-hyped online presence, especially the meaning of its outwardly circulated statistic—“chief object of pride for the channel”—that its YouTube account has had over 1 billion views. Most of the views, however, have come from videos “not pertaining to the main goals of the channel”—that is, providing a “Russian viewpoint” on global politics.

It also seems that “soft news”—described mordantly by the RIA Novosti team as “bums, metrosexuals, etc.”—accounted for 23 million views of RT’s top 100 clips, which was far more traffic than any videos on Russian or Western politics or those featuring Vladimir Putin. Only 200,000, for example, watched Putin’s inauguration for his third term as Russia’s president; a meager 45,000 an exclusive interview he gave to RT. Putin’s most popular video? Singing “Blueberry Hill” at a charity benefit in St. Petersburg in 2010.

Of the top 100 most-watched over five years, 81 percent—344 million views—went to videos of natural disasters, accidents, crime, and natural phenomenon. RT’s political news videos, featuring the content by which it seeks to shape Western opinion and thus justify its existence, accounted for a mere 1 percent of its total YouTube exposure, with fewer than 4 million views.

Katie Zavdavski, who lied about Hamas’ kidnapping and murder of Israeli teens, misses the point. Most sites, even “serious” news sites have viral videos about animals as their most popular content. The Huffington Post probably gets a lot more clicks on celebrities than its politics. Slate’s most popular feature is an advice column. That doesn’t stop them from effectively projecting their politics.

  15. Kerry: Russian Buildup in Syria is Defensive

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/260230/kerry-russian-buildup-syria-defensive-daniel-greenfield

These days you can just precede anything Kerry says with, “An idiot says what.” About the only thing that makes Hillary Clinton’s disastrous tenure as Secretary of State look good is Kerry’s follow-up act.

It’s not just that Kerry frantically appeases any enemy of the United States he can get his clammy hands on, it’s that he also frantically babbles nonsense while doing it. It’s bad enough that we’re run by appeasers, but with Kerry, any time he opens his mouth, he’s taking out a global ad announcing that our foreign policy is in the hands of a man who has trouble counting to three.

Asked to respond to Russia’s military buildup in Syria, Kerry could have said any number of things. Or he could have done this…

The Russian military build-up in Syria could trigger clashes with Western forces in the region, John Kerry has warned. The US secretary of state said he had told his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, of the risk if Russia took a direct role in the Syrian conflict.

Mr Kerry said Moscow might only want to safeguard its strategic military base at Tartus — the Russian navy’s only port on the Mediterranean.

“But if they are there to shore up Assad and to provide Assad with a continued sense that he doesn’t have to negotiate, then I think it’s a problem for Syria and it’s a problem for everybody who wants to bring an end to this conflict,” Mr Kerry said.

Pentagon officials said yesterday (Wednesday) that the administration would not engage in further talks with Russia unless Moscow made a commitment to seek a political solution to the crisis.

Why did Kerry even need to say any of this?

  16. The Refugee Crisis and Sweden’s Perfect Storm
The disaster on the horizon is there for all to see.

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260223/refugee-crisis-and-swedens-perfect-storm-nima-gholam-ali-pour In these days I am very worried about Sweden. Never before has the disastrous immigration policy that Sweden implements been so obvious in its failure, as it is these days, when Europe is in the middle of a refugee crisis. Each week, Sweden receives thousands of asylum seekers from the Middle East. At the same time, there are three important questions that the Swedish government cannot answer. The Swedish government does not know where these tens of thousands of asylum seekers will live, how they will be working and how this new wave of immigration will be financed.

Sweden is today going through its worst housing crisis in 50 years. The figures are frightening. According to Boverket, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, Sweden needs to build half a million homes by 2020. But the government’s costly housing initiative that will cost $387 million annually will only lead to 250,000 new homes by 2020. That is the situation today. How the situation will be after the refugee crisis, and how many homes will be needed by then, no one knows. But a whole generation of Swedes will grow up in a society where homelessness will become part of everyday life.

According to the municipal housing office, Boplats Syd, in 2014 you had to wait 1049 days on average in a queue before you could get a tenancy in western Scania, an area where Sweden’s third largest city, Malmö, is included.

  19. strong>EU refugee summit in disarray as Tusk warns ‘greatest tide yet to come’ <

[…]Donald Tusk, the president of the European council, who chaired the summit, warned: “The greatest tide of refugees and migrants is yet to come.”

In a barb directed at Merkel and Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European commission, Tusk added: “We need to correct our policy of open doors and windows.”

Merkel singled out Turkey as the key to a crisis management strategy and Juncker said the fundraising would include a billion euros for Ankara.

But Tusk, just returned from Turkey, said money “is not the big problem. It is not as easy as expected.”

Ahmet Davutoglu, the Turkish prime minister, wrote to the EU leaders on Wednesday demanding bold concessions from the Europeans as the price for Turkey’s possible cooperation. He proposed EU and US support for a buffer and no-fly zone in northern Syria by the Turkish border, measuring 80km by 40km.

“There are many people who doubt the sincerity of their motives,” said a senior EU official. “They’re not offering too much.”

One incentive for Turkey’s leader, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, would be relaxed visa requirements for Turks going to Europe, but Europeans, especially east European governments resorting to anti-Muslim rhetoric, could balk at this.

  20. Iran Openly Declares it will Violate UN Resolution on Arms Restrictions

    http://unitedwithisrael.org/iran-openly-states-it-will-violate-unsc-resolution-on-iran-deal/?

ran openly declares it will violate the UNSC resolution regarding the nuclear deal and will progress with its weapons build-up and development program.

Iran’s three leaders – President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Deputy Foreign Minister and senior negotiator Abbas Araghchi – have open declared that Iran has no intention of abiding by UN Security Council resolution 2231, which endorses the nuclear deal and restrictions on Tehran’s missiles and weapons acquisition. Rather, they say they will abide only by the original nuclear deal.

According to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Iran said that it separates the deal regarding its nuclear program from the UNSC resolution. Passed on July 25, the resolution endorses the deal and also includes prohibitions on Iran’s development of advanced ballistic missiles and its purchasing of other types of arms.

  21. Latakia Is Assad’s Achilles Heel

Why are Russian troops being sent to Latakia and not Tartus, site of the official Russian military base? In 2010, the population of Latakia was about 400,000 – 50% Alawite, 40% Sunni, and 10% Christian. According to the UN, Latakia is now hosting 200,000 internally displaced persons, mostly Sunnis. During July and August 2015, a rebel offensive in the al-Ghab plain threatened Latakia, and the risk of a Sunni uprising in Latakia still exists. By contrast, in Tartus, Alawites constitute 80% of the population.
A rebel army could find strong support from Sunni residents of Latakia, many of whom have long dreamed of revenge for regime efforts to impose Alawite control over the city. Moreover, many Russians are living in Latakia. Assad’s army can no longer defend Latakia and Russian troops are needed to protect the city. Nor can Assad defend Damascus without the support of Hizbullah and Iran.

    http://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/view/latakia-is-assads-achilles-heel

    • I think Assad is now Russia’s puppet instead of Iran’s, given what is at stake it is unlikely this will turn into the swamp that Afghanistan did, for one thing no rival superpower will be funding ISIS.

Given the population difference Latakia probably has a larger port, this will make off loading the equipment easier quicker. Think logistics as Napoleon said an army marches on its stomach. It needs food, medicine, equipment, replacement ammo etc.

  22. Our Iranian Interlocutor
Ali Khamenei’s dark obsession with Jews and Israel

Jew-hatred – not just anti-Zionism – has been a significant aspect, if not a core component, of modern Arab nationalism, Islamic fundamentalism, and what usually passes for critical thought among sophisticated Arab elites.  References to Jews and Israel in Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s speeches demonstrate a near-pathological obsession.?    As early as his August 5, 1980, Quds [Jerusalem] Day sermon, Khamenei said: “As long as an infectious sore, a filthy tumor called the usurping Israeli state in the heart of Arab and Islamic lands exists, we can’t feel victory and can’t tolerate the presence of our enemy in the usurped and occupied lands.” Khamenei also accused Israel of “imprisoning Muslim youth, subjecting them to torture, and even tapping their blood with syringes to save in their blood banks.”?    Given that Khamenei controls the Assembly of Experts, the body designated to choose his successor, there’s no reason to believe the Islamic Republic will become less anti-Semitic in the coming decade.

A high-ranking IDF officer warned this week of the dangers faced by Israel from the developing radical Shiite axis:

“When I compare the Sunni radical axis with the Shiite one, it’s clear to me who’s most dangerous. With all due respect to Islamic State achievements, the Sunni threat is along the lines of ‘more of the same.’ It’s something we are familiar with. But the Shiite axis, on the other hand, is based on Iran. We are talking about a regional power that dominates 25% of the world’s natural gas reserves and 11% of its petroleum reserves. It has tremendous human capital, high capabilities in science, technology, infrastructure, operational abilities, cyber developments.”

“Iran, Iraq, Syria, Hizbullah and now also Russia are closing ranks against the Sunni axis – including, to our stupefaction, even an international coalition headed by the United States – and this should worry us. Do we want Iran sitting on our doorstep? Do we want Iran, a country that de facto rules Iraq, Syria and Lebanon and enjoys Russian backup, to win in this confrontation? A country that maintains its standing as a nuclear-threshold state?”

With regard to Russian involvement, the officer noted, “This development is very bad for Israel; it significantly strengthens the radical Shiite axis. The Russians aren’t really interested in the Shiites. What they want is to rein in the Sunni awakening that is gushing through the Caucusus. They are embroiled in Dagestan; in Chechnya, they want to halt the Sunni wave that threatens them, thus they are taking action in Syria.”

Asked whether he was equally concerned about the Sunni axis, mainly the Islamic State, the officer answered, “No. Although it’s true that the Sunni axis has scored startling achievements, they are totally isolated and not supported by any significant external power. They are facing off alone against the radical Shiite deployment that is supported by a regional power like Iran, a world power like Russia and an international aerial coalition headed by the United States.”

“History proves that large empires coming from the East never bring good tidings to the Jewish people. What we are witnessing now is the return of the Persian Empire. The nuclear agreement between Iran and the West…allows Iran to become an empire and increase its activities and influence throughout the Middle East. From our perspective, this is bad news indeed.”

“The Iranian adversary does not resemble any foe we have yet faced, on any scale of magnitude. The Persian civilization is much more impressive, developed and powerful than what we have today among the Arab countries. All this should worry us a lot.”

    • With all due respect to the Israeli military they will have a lot of trouble defeating Iran alone and until we can get another President and rebuild our military they will have to stand alone. They are facing a military that is orders of magnitude better then the Sunni forces they have faced before. Remember the last time they fought Hezbollah, Hezbollah stood and knocked with them and only withdrew when forced to by shortage of ammo. This does not bode well for Israel when Obama is refusing to resupply them and others are following his lead. Hopefully the major crisis will wait until he is out of office but I doubt that will happen.

      • The IDF officer goes off the reservation and soils himself, baring his shallow soul to the leftist journalist who’s working for Saudi Inc. Sadly typical.

We don’t need to hear this right now. Idle speculation would’ve had the Jews dead 3,000 years ago.

Israel will fight alone, if need be. Alone save for the everlasting grace of G-d.

He doesn’t do hudna or taqiyya. I just know it.

        • When Obama is out of office the US will fight with Israel but until then they are on their own, things are coming to a head and the massive violence is coming soon. Pray for the good because we need all help that we can get.

This war will go down in history as one of the most critical wars that have been fought.

  24. This article in a major Saudi-funded paper describes a Muslim Brotherhood phenomenon. It’s pretty much antithetical to Gulf Salafi interests, which remain centered on Mecca and Medina. (And properly so.)

The Saudis may find MB interests more amenable to their own than, say, Persian ones. But not by much. These are unstable hudnas at best.

However, the Temple Mount remains the sole claim to legitmacy of the Hashemite-refugee king, Abdullah of Jordan. He married a “Palestinian” woman, but his tribe – from the Profit Moh himself! – loathes them as do all Gulf Arabs.

He gets frantic whenever the MB incite the riff-raff of the “Palestinian” persuasion with the blood-libel: “Al-Aqsa is in Danger!” That challenges his manhood as “Keeper of the blah-blah”. He becomes irrational and babbles nonsense which fans the flames.
    …………..
    Who are Temple Mount’s Mourabitoun?
As the struggle over the Temple Mount escalates, the number of Muslim male and female recruits to the Mourabitoun, responsible for inflaming and fanning violence at the site, has grown. The police and Israel Security Agency put their numbers at more than 1,000 women and hundreds of men, who are paid up to 4,000 Israeli shekels ($1,040) a month for their activism.

The funding is provided by Islamic charities, mainly the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, headed by Sheikh Raid Salah.

Israeli security services claim that Hamas also funnels money to the groups.

When Jews arrive on the Mount, the Muslim women, dressed in black, their faces veiled, repeatedly call out in unison, “Allahu Akbar,” to scare off the Jews in a type of psychological warfare.

  26. Wright State University – Man seen on video tearing pages out of Quran calls it confrontational evangelism

John Williams said he was trying to get his point across. He calls it confrontational evangelism.

“The point of ripping up pages of the Quran was that we were demonstrating what god thinks about the Quran,” Williams said. “We do this to get attention. We do this to lift of the name of Jesus Christ, so people will know that our God’s way is absolute.”

The confrontation at Wright State turned physical.

Karen Dabdoub, executive director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Cincinnati Chapter, said she can understand why it was hurtful. For Muslims, the Quran is the word of God.

“It upsets me for sure because somebody like that, it’s not just that he was trying to poke the eye of the Muslim community, but the fact that he is trying to cause strife in our community,” Dabdoub said. “I don’t think there are any main stream Christians that would agree he’s preaching the message of Jesus Christ.”

She said her solution would’ve been a little different.

“Somebody like that, ya know, what I think we should do? Give him our back. I think everybody who was there should’ve turned their back on him completely and not given him an audience,” said Dabdoub.

While some call what Williams did hateful, he said he and other street preachers don’t plan on stopping.

Williams said they’ve since made stops at the University of Cincinnati…

‘Preacher’ at WSU claims to rip pages from Quran

No charges from scuffle that erupted on campus quad.

When he begins tearing pages, he was pushed or punched back, apparently by a spectator. Campus police quickly surrounded him. He regained his footing and resumed tearing pages, shouting derogatory remarks about Islam, the video shows. –

[…]He said he bought the book at a bookstore near WSU. A spectator in the video can be seen retrieving a page torn from the book and telling Williams that since the book is translated from Arabic into English, it’s not the Quran. –

CBS – Vladmir Putin addresses Russia’s intentions in Syria

Charlie Rose spent time with Putin while on assignment for “60 Minutes,” and asked him about Russia’s intentions in Syria.

Charlie Rose: So you would like to join the United States in the fight against ISIS? That’s part of why you’re there. Others think that while that may be part of your goal, you’re trying to save the Assad administration because they’ve been losing ground and the war has not been going well for them. And you’re there to rescue them.

Vladimir Putin (through translator): Well, you’re right. And it’s my deep belief that any actions to the contrary in order to destroy the legitimate government will create a situation which you can witness now in the other countries of the region or in other regions, for instance in Libya, where all the state institutions are disintegrated. We see a similar situation in Iraq.

And there is no other solution to the Syrian crisis than strengthening the effective government structures and rendering them help in fighting terrorism. But at the same time, urging them to engage in positive dialogue with the rational opposition and conduct reform.

Rose: As you know, some of the coalition partners want to see President Assad go first before they will support.

Putin: I’d like to recommend to them the following: They should send this message to the Syrian people. It’s only the Syrian people who are entitled to decide who should govern their country and how.
