2. Judge sentences two men in Via train terror case to life in prison
TORONTO – Two men found guilty of terrorism charges after being accused of plotting to derail a passenger train were sentenced to life in prison Wednesday as a Toronto judge found neither of them had expressed remorse for their offences.
Raed Jaser and Chiheb Esseghaier were found guilty in March on a total of eight charges between them.
Justice Michael Code, the Toronto judge who presided over their trial earlier this year, found both men have not renounced their extremists beliefs, have not accepted responsibility for their offences and present questionable prospects for rehabilitation.
“I am satisfied that life imprisonment is the appropriate sentence,” he said, noting that the men would receive some credit for time already spent in custody.
(Lets hope that in this case, Canadian life in jail doesn’t mean 4 years in Club Fed with a full cable package but no Showtime or HBO)

MANILA: Two Canadian tourists, a Norwegian resort manager and a Filipino woman have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from a popular resort island in the southern Philippines, the army said on Tuesday.
Philippines army Captain Alberto Caber said the four were taken at gunpoint during a raid late on Monday night on the Oceanview resort on Samal island, near Davao City, the largest city on Mindanao island in the restive southern Philippines.

We in the west are faced with the problem of how to restore the rule of law and freedom to our nations, most of us have exhausted all forms of peaceful restoration but are hesitant to use force. The hardest decision in the world is to rebel against the legitimate government of your nation, even if this is being done to restore the rule of law in you nation and to aid others in restoring freedom. This decision is even harder for military officers because in the west we follow the custom that the civilian government runs the military and the military stays out of politics. Once the military moves to replace a legitimate government or to aid the people rebelling a precedent has been set for future officers to use as an excuse to remove a President that they dislike. In my lifetime Argentina has had many coups that end well and a few that ended in disasters. The officers have stopped rebeling to save the nation and the people have elected socialist that have bankrupted that nation. Rather like the way the left in the west has bankrupted all western nations. I see a civil war in the future of all western nations but not all will be fought by patriots trying to restore liberty. In the US we are so polarized that if/when someone other then a socialist Democrat is the left aided by the jihadists in the US will probably rebel. The left waged a small scale terror rebellion during the 60s and they were not only forgiven they were allowed to take control of the universities. The next war they wage will be much bloodier and will live in infamy for a long time.
This government has lost its legitimacy. A Senate that votes to continue funding purveyors of murdered babies.
And given the biased media and spoiled offspring of the Summer- of -Love electorate, I doubt anyone worthy could be elected.
I’d throw it all over to a junta rather than face the future with a Hillary or any old RINO.
