    • Hi Yukie,

I assume this sketch is the characature of an honored real historical violinist, (that was not offensive at the time), that you have seen as an insult to all Jews everywhere inserted on the programme by an Islamo-Nazi? Is this your politically correct argument?

For me, on reading the text around this drawing, it indicates the intended readership are Liberals and Homosexuals who would be fascinated by the composer’s homosexual sex life who hid persecution from heterosexual parents to marry a female student besotted by him. Therefore, the drawing (which has taken a lifetime to gain notoriety due to the stereotypes of Communists, Nazis and Moslems), further titilates their erogenous zones, (“we love death more than you love life”), with hints of sadomaschoism, furthering their acts of righteous-sex after the concert rather than any real discourse of antisemitism. It is typical of modern entertainment – like the excesses of 1920s Germany – so that I only see sub-porn, “we are all victims,” a pamplet created by enablers, rather than to any anti-Jewish conspiracy.

People dress in Nazi uniforms and get whipped by dominatrices. Therefore, the fact it can be used to climax over, is only the context of the minds already there. I do not perceive it was intended to implant anything more than implanted already. No political intention.

Please, if you will, counter my observation, or at least to a minimum, elucidate your condemnation of “Ghastly.”

      • “It’s a Goebbels caricature of one of the greatest violinists in history.”

Please Yuckie, may I have a web link to what you stated as fact?

(The caracature has a signature next to it – but I can’t discern it due to the low resolution, and your connection to Goebbels too, for me, has become a fruitless search).

        • Goebbels like, in the manner of Goebbels, done with the same effect and intention that Goebbels commissioned the caricatures of Jewish people etc. I have no idea as to the quality of this man’s violin playing. Chances are I wouldn’t recognize its genius anyway as I use the Stephane Grappelli standard of ‘violining’. But I can tell an antisemitic drawing when I see one. Its not the kind you get at the boardwalk of your girlfriend or father.

        • So here, the UK is browbeaten and accused of what was unintended by an unelected collective.

Forced to remove images of hate crimes, including those that might be so construed or used, to tear down the temples of past civilisations and to make those of the present submit to their goodness, these who talk of free speech and the open marketplace of ideas, having no room for free images and the marketplace of imagination.

Therefore, not seeing the context the decadence of opulent indulgence heightening the lewd senses of the BBC audiences, but targeting a forbidden image that no one must ever see…

I hope it never comes to having brave persecuted artists having to “draw a violinist day” to express the the fact tyranny is a double edged sword.

          Ghastly.

            • And sadly, this truth about the hypnosis in reacting to images did not get revealed to the beholder, and did not set them free.

          • Eeyor, I think Yuckie and I have expressed our two opposing opinions well: That this image has a power to be used to stir up racial hatred or it does not; the same question of allowing citizens to carry guns: do these pictures harm or do the people who see them do harm.

While I argued the original artist and BBC had no desire to engage with Anti-semitism, Yuckie declared it has the features of Nazism and brought to our attention her disgust that it should see the very light of day.

When all Rudyard Kipling’s books are burned by Obama for their colonial jingoism and racism, I may then mildly comment too that a hate crime resides as an offence in the beholder, to solicit others to believe of the innocents’ evil intent so that they at best are forced to apologise and submit.

What was or wasn’t there, is now made real for the very effect it has on them. So that what is weakness and fear tries to represent itself as strength and pride that unerringly awakens the realization of opportunity to ruled by Diversity or by Destiny for peace. Each moment of offence is thus made to linger increasingly longer until it becomes a cultural mindset over what is permitted and forbidden, halal and haram.

In the 1960s it was women, Blacks and Gays empowered by branded victimhood status. Political Correctness towards protected preferential groups of what you couldn’t say or draw. Ripping apart the humanising of humanity to become souls.

Before then oppressed Nazi Germans, and far earlier offence-intimidated Muslims and previously Christ-sacrifice enraged Christians. Before these, the other myths of righteous justification.

They all oppress other people – with what lies deficient within them. Resentment is their curse. The All-Seeing Eyes their masters.

“You don’t see a difference between expressing disgust and demanding a ban? Did someone say they should be banned?”

No. (Said the sliver to the mote).

  1. Analysis: Arab Sex and Arab Terror
When an Arab bomber attacks Jews, there is often a SEXUAL motive.

Wafa Idris, the first Palestinian Arab woman suicide bomber, had been shamed and shunned by her husband and her own family after a miscarriage in pregnancy, and she was told she could regain “honor” for her family by carrying a bomb into a Jerusalem store on January 27, 2002. There are many such stories among Arab women bombers.

And when Arabs accuse Israel of committing terror against Arabs—such as this week’s “settlers killed a 16-year-old boy for revenge”—there is often a SEXUAL BACK-STORY which only emerges much later.

Indeed, several times in the past when Arabs have accused Israel or “settlers” of killing Arabs, it has turned out that Arabs themselves committed the deed, either for “family reasons” or “criminal reasons” such as a turf war between rival businesses or drug dealers.

During the 1987-89 “Intifada” (the first Palestinian war of attrition against Israel), hundreds of Palestinians were killed by other Palestinians under the cover of charges that they were collaborators with Israel, when actually, they were killed for personal or business reasons.

It would not be a surprise to discover that Muhammad Abu Khudair, the 16-year-old Arab found dead near Jerusalem was murdered by Arabs, perhaps because his own family was ashamed by his sexual proclivities (such as homosexuality) or that a rival family was taking revenge against Muhammad’s family for other reasons.

Arabs have been rioting around Jerusalem since PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and his Israeli Arab adviser Ahmed Tibi accused Israel of murdering the Arab boy or covering up for “Jewish settlers” who allegedly did so to avenge the murder of three Jewish teenagers kidnapped three weeks ago. The bodies of the three Jewish teenagers were only found two days ago.

Charges of terror and atrocities by Israel and “settlers” are a propaganda mainstay of PLO chief Abbas, and they were also used by his late predecessor Yasser Arafat. They accused Israel of killing thousands of innocent Arabs in Jenin in 2000, when Israel went after the headquarters of Fatah suicide bombers in Jenin.

Abbas and Arafat also accused Israel of murdering Arab children, of using special laser weapons at passenger terminals to hurt Arab tourists, and even of sending the AIDS virus into Gaza in chewing gum sticks.

But the sexual motif was also used by PLO authorities who produced scores of propaganda films encouraging young boys to become suicide bombers so they could get to Paradise where 72 beautiful virgins would greet them with sexual delights.

The Israelis discovered just how demented this could be when a slightly mentally retarded Arab teenager tried to blow himself up at an Israeli checkpoint, but the bomb failed to go off.

When they searched the boy, the Israelis found that he had swathed his genitals in gauze. Asked why, the failed bomber said that he wanted to get to paradise with his sexual organs in good working order.

This is not a joke. This actually happened.

So don’t be surprised if Arabs murdered the Arab boy in Jerusalem—perhaps for sexual reasons—and tried to pin the crime on Israel as a win-win situation.

The only surprise will be if PLO chief Abbas or Ahmad Tibi apologize for lying.

    Again.

        • It really is easier said than done. But that is not all. Look who is learning and who is looking for work. Majority of i/migrants whom they shown are male. . And their teachers/helpers are female. And that is another problem. In the ME culture women have lower standing then men, so many of the i/migrants will just play at learning and/or at looking for work. They will not treat their teachers seriously, because, hey, they are female.
Also, where are the i/mmigrant’s females?

          • Waiting at home for the men to conquer the west so the women can come in and use western slaves to do all the house work.

        • When did Germany become soooooooooooooooooo stupid, so disorganised, so weak, so deserving of the bloody guilt-trip that is heaped on it from itself? (<——- rhetorical question.

Someone once said: "Germans are either at your throat or at your feet". There are a few throats I would like to have a go at – Merkel das Ferkel being the first !!!

The country of Goethe and Schiller is dying from an auto-immune disease!

          • I have great hopes for the resistance in Germany watch what is happening when the time comes I expect good things from them. If they fail and fall to the Moslems Poland can come in and liberate them, the Poles will think that is a good turn around from being invaded by Germans.

    • RT – Europe’s refugee crisis: Trash trail left behind by asylum seekers upsets locals

Not everyone in Europe is greeting the thousands of refugees from the Middle East and Africa with open arms. Some locals in countries like Serbia and Hungary have expressed their discontent with the chaos and piles of trash the asylum seekers leave behind.

Plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, empty plastic packets, and untouched humanitarian aid can be seen in photos and videos shared on social media depicting the transit refugee camps and heavily littered migrant route.

Images from the Roszke refugee camp at the Hungarian-Serbian border – a part of the Western Balkan migration route – show a trash lined roadside littered with empty tents left behind when the asylum seekers left the area.

The rubbish trail on the border between Hungary and Serbia appears to help some navigate in unknown territory.

“I follow the trash,” 23-yearl old Syrian Abood told the Christian Monitor.“It makes it very easy to find the right way to go,” he said adding that he feels “a bit ashamed that Syrians have left so much garbage along the way.”

[…]“Apart from everything else, the smell of trash everywhere is absolutely overpowering. No idea how people are living and sleeping around this. Insects, rats, cockroaches are ever-present here with the rotting food,” he said.

“A Saudi-led coalition has denied its warplanes bombed the Omani ambassador’s home in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, target of months of its air strikes, and called for an investigation, Saudi media reported on Sunday.

The Omani foreign ministry summoned the Saudi ambassador in Muscat on Saturday and handed him a protest letter over the air strikes, which the state news agency ONA said had targeted the residence of its ambassador to Yemen.

The coalition’s military spokesman, Brigadier-General Ahmed al-Asiri, said Saturday’s air strikes had targeted the Yemeni Interior Ministry building, but not the Omani ambassador’s residence, the Saudi-owned Asharq al-Awsat said.

The ministry had been turned into a military operations center for the Houthis, the Iranian-allied group that controls the capital and large swathes of the country, the daily said…”

  4. Syrian monitor: 75 U.S.-trained Syrian rebels enter Syria from Turkey (reuters, Sep 20, 2015)
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/09/20/us-mideast-crisis-syria-rebels-idUSKCN0RK07520150920

“Seventy five Syrian rebels trained by the United States and its allies to fight Islamic State have entered northern Syria since Friday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday.

Rami Abdulrahman, director of the Observatory, said the rebels had crossed into Syria from Turkey with 12 vehicles equipped with machine guns.

A top U.S. general told Congress on Wednesday that only four or five Syrian rebels trained under the program aimed at fighting Islamic State were still fighting in Syria.

The U.S. military began training in May for up to 5,400 fighters a year, in what was seen as a test of President Barack Obama’s strategy of having local partners combat Islamic State militants and keep U.S. troops off the front lines.”

  5. Anyone remember the “news” all over the place that the big bad evil Israelis had killed 4 little arab children at the beach during the last defence war against HAMAS in Gaza?

I dont know if this documentary (HAMAS killed these children in an elaborate con-job to implicate Israel and the press was complicit – according to this film) has been shown already or is even new, but – I just discovered it today.

  6. How Ahmed’s clock became a false, convenient tale of racism

    http://nypost.com/2015/09/19/how-ahmeds-clock-became-a-false-convenient-tale-of-racism/

When is America going to get serious about the problem of white kids getting suspended from school for nothing?

By now you’ve heard the story of Ahmed Mohamed, crowned by the Daily Beast “The Muslim Hero America Has Been Waiting For” after the 14-year-old brought to school a beeping, strange-looking homemade concealed device that turned out to be a clock.

School officials, thinking, as 95% of Americans would, that it kinda looked like a bomb, hauled him out of class. Police put him in handcuffs and, even after the confusion passed, the boy was suspended from school.

That earned Mohamed a planned trip to the White House, a message of support from Hillary Clinton, an offer to stop by Facebook to meet Mark Zuckerberg and an invitation to be an intern at Twitter.

  7. Free speech petitioners told they’ll be ‘locked up’ at DuPage

    http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6818

Several students at the College of DuPage were told to cease or be “locked up” Friday as they attempted to collect signatures for a petition urging the school to improve its free speech policies.

The two students, along with an advisor from Turning Point USA who was helping them organize a chapter at DuPage, were on campus inviting passersby to sign up for the club and/or sign the petition—and were also distributing pocket Constitutions and non-partisan flyers stating the “America is a free speech zone”—when they were approached by campus police.

Joseph Enders, a student at the college, told Campus Reform that he has been attempting to start a TPUSA club for some time, but has had difficulty meeting the school’s requirements for an official student organization. For its part, the College recounts instructing him on the process for starting a new club, but says it has never received the necessary documents from him.

  8. East European leaders in war of words as migrants pour across borders

    http://news.yahoo.com/east-european-leaders-argue-migrants-pour-across-borders-143858423.html

BELI MANASTIR/HARMICA, Croatia (Reuters) – Hungary and Croatia traded threats on Saturday as thousands of exhausted migrants poured over their borders, deepening the disarray in Europe over how to handle the tide of humanity.

More than 20,000 migrants, many of them refugees from the Syrian war, have trekked into Croatia since Tuesday, when Hungary used a metal fence, tear gas and water cannon on its southern border with Serbia to bar their route into the European Union.

EU leaders, deeply divided, are due to meet on Wednesday in a fresh attempt to agree on how and where to distribute 160,000 refugees among their countries, but the noises from some of the newer members of the bloc were far from friendly.

  9. Migrants buffeted amid European political tug-of-war

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/09/19/migrants-austria/72465920/

Thousands of migrants poured into Austria on Saturday amid an increasingly bitter tug-of-war among overwhelmed European countries who have tried to divert the flood by either throwing up barbed-wire barriers or quickly transporting refugees to the next border to the north.

Austrian police said some 10,000 people crossed overnight from Hungary, which has deployed thousands of troops to cope with the flood and is calling up 500 army reservists.

Christian Stella, deputy police chief of Burgenland, told the Austrian Press Agentur that Hungary had not given enough advance warning that the refugees were coming. “We need a lead time of half a day,” said Stella. Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner also criticized the Croatian and Slovenian authorities for violating EU by not accepting asylum applications from the refugees, APA reported.

Slovenia used pepper spray on a group of migrants trying to cross the border from Croatia, the BBC reported. Slovenian police said more than 1,000 migrants have entered the country and hundreds more are camped at border crossings.

  10. 35 MILLION migrants heading to Europe, says Hungary as it builds second fence

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/606211/35-MILLION-migrants-Europe-Hungary-builds-second-fence

The huge figure was revealed today by Hungary’s minister for foreign affairs and trade Peter Szijjártó.

Speaking as the country begins work on its second fence to stop migrants heading across its border he predicted the current crisis will continue for years.

Mr Szijjártó told the Hungarian Times: “The name of the fence is ‘Temporary Security Border Fence’ but I think there is no question that in this case temporary means years.

“It’s a self delusion to call this situation a migration crisis; it is a massive migration of nations, with inexhaustible reserves.

“I don’t think that the analysis results, stating that 30-35 million people out there could possibly become migrants, would be an exaggeration

  11. U.S. and China Seek Arms Deal for Cyberspace

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/20/world/asia/us-and-china-seek-arms-deal-for-cyberspace.htmlWASHINGTON — The United States and China are negotiating what could become the first arms control accord for cyberspace, embracing a commitment by each country that it will not be the first to use cyberweapons to cripple the other’s critical infrastructure during peacetime, according to officials involved in the talks.

While such an agreement could address attacks on power stations, banking systems, cellphone networks and hospitals, it would not, at least in its first version, protect against most of the attacks that China has been accused of conducting in the United States, including the widespread poaching of intellectual property and the theft of millions of government employees’ personal data.

The negotiations have been conducted with urgency in recent weeks, with a goal to announce an agreement when President Xi Jinping of China arrives in Washington for a state visit on Thursday. President Obama hinted at the negotiations on Wednesday, when he told the Business Roundtable that the rising number of cyberattacks would “probably be one of the biggest topics” of the summit meeting, and that his goal was to see “if we and the Chinese are able to coalesce around a process for negotiations” that would ultimately “bring a lot of other countries along.”

  12. Scientists claim they have grown human sperm in the lab

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/scientists-claim-they-have-grown-human-sperm-in-the-lab-10509242.html

Human sperm cells have been made in the laboratory for the first time by culturing immature cells taken from the testes of infertile men. The breakthrough promises to help young boys made sterile by cancer treatments and adult men who cannot make their own sperm, scientists have claimed.

The sperm cells made in an artificial “bioreactor” look identical to those produced naturally. The technology could be used in two to four years to help infertile men have their own biological children, according to researchers based at a French national research institute in Lyon.

Scientists have been trying for two decades to find a way of producing human sperm in the test tube (in vitro). But no one has been able to complete the complicated cycles of cell division and development that lead the immature “germ cells” in the male testes to become fully mature sperm cells capable of successfully fertilising eggs.

  13. Putin moves to establish Russian military base in Belarus

    By YURAS KARMANAU

    http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/E/EU_BELARUS_RUSSIAN_BASE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2015-09-19-10-39-54

MINSK, Belarus (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday signaled his intention to establish a Russian military air base in neighboring Belarus – a move sure to unnerve Poland and the Baltic nations.

Belarus has made clear it would not welcome a Russian base, but the former Soviet republic remains dependent on Moscow for credit and energy.

Putin ordered the Russian Defense Ministry, with the participation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, to hold talks with their Belarusian counterparts and sign the agreement that is reached.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has not commented on Putin’s initiative. The two presidents met Friday in the southern Russian city of Sochi.

          • On closer questioning my BeloRusski is solid Russian.
Which means that for him Belarus and Crimea and a whole lot more is Russia.

The emigres here are from all over the old Soviet Union. They left before the Evil Empire shattered into evil pieces. They all speak Russian, studied from the same textbooks in school, and several served in the Russian army.

Never mind. My Russki’s got one son in Kiev and another in Israel. The rest have similarly fragmented families. Putin’s view of the Motherland might be closer to that of the emigres than to their contemporaries still living in the Old Country. I just don’t know.

            • Under the Czars and under Communism the ethnic Russians were encouraged to move into what are now the breakaway republics and russofy them. From what I have read the natives of those regions have more or less resented the colonizers or occupiers (take your pick). These are the people that Putin is using as an excuse to move in and recreate the Russian Empire. Ever since Russia was formed Eastern Europe was either occupied or was worried about being occupied by Russia. Poland has spent as much time occupied as it has free.

              • The Czars liked to settle Cassocks in the various areas so they would have a local militia loyal to the crown. After communism fell a lot of the Cassocks (especially the older ones) expected the Romanofs (sp?) to return and take the crown back.

  14. Refugee crisis to test EU itself at summit of divided leaders

    http://www.oann.com/refugee-crisis-to-test-eu-itself-at-summit-of-divided-leaders/

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Bitterly divided European leaders will seek to find a credible response to the worst migration crisis affecting the continent since World War Two, which has tarnished its image as a beacon of peace, at an emergency summit next week.

European Council President Donald Tusk, who chairs EU summits, on Friday called on the 28-country bloc’s leaders to stop shifting the responsibility onto others and to build a credible migration policy.

Europe is struggling to deal with the hundreds of thousands of people entering it this year, increasingly across the water from Turkey to Greece and then up through the impoverished Balkans to the former Yugoslavia, of which Croatia and Slovenia are members of the EU.

DUBAI (Reuters) – A Saudi-led coalition has denied its warplanes bombed the Omani ambassador’s home in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, target of months of its air strikes, and called for an investigation, Saudi media reported on Sunday.

  16. Poll sees rising support for France’s Le Pen in northern local election

    http://www.oann.com/category/world/

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s far-right National Front party leader Marine Le Pen is expected to dominate in the first round of local elections in the northern region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais in December, mustering 40 percent support, according to a poll on Sunday.

The latest survey by pollster Odoxa indicates an increase in voting intentions for the far-right movement in one of France’s poorest regions. Another survey in June by OpinionWay showed 32 percent support for Le Pen in the first round and 37 percent in the second.

The Odoxa poll showed Le Pen would secure 36 to 37 percent of the ballot in the first round, well ahead of 26 percent for the conservative Les Republicains party, with the ruling Socialist party (PS) in third place with 19 to 21 percent, according to current intentions.

  17. Migrants brave deadly dinghies, Turkish coastguard for new life

    http://www.oann.com/migrants-brave-deadly-dinghies-turkish-coastguard-for-new-life/

ANKARA (Reuters) – It is nighttime on a beach near the resort town of Bodrum and a group of migrants look out nervously at two ships on the horizon, wondering if they can slip past the Turkish coastguard and cross the Aegean Sea into a new life in Europe.

But their dinghies are poorly made and slow, and the coastguard has stepped up patrols in the area, where the body of toddler Aylan Kurdi washed up, sparking international outrage.

While Europe has only woken up to the size of the refugee crisis this summer, Turkey has been the front lines for more than four years. It shares a 900-km (550 mile) border with Syria and has welcomed those fleeing the civil war, now in its fifth year.

It now hosts the world’s largest refugee population, at 2.2 million, and has spent $7.6 billion on providing them food, shelter and care, according to Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus.

  18. Thai activists plan to defy junta ban with more marches

    http://www.oann.com/thai-activists-plan-to-defy-junta-ban-with-more-marches/

BANGKOK (Reuters) – A group of pro-democracy activists said on Sunday they plan more marches after staging the largest political demonstration in Thailand’s capital since a military government took power in May 2014.

Another protest would set up a flashpoint with a junta that is considering taking action against the organizers of the hundreds of people who, defying government orders, marched on Bangkok’s Democracy Monument on Saturday.

The New Democracy Movement (NDM) may stage another event in early October, said Rangsiman Rome, an NDM coordinator and a law student at Bangkok’s Thammasat University.

“We are scared but will we back down? No. I will keep fighting because we want Thailand to become a democratic country,” Rangsiman told Reuters on Sunday.

America is the land of second chances, to be sure. But is completely dismissing publicly available law-enforcement information about a potential terrorist taking things a bit too far?

When the Department of Homeland Security says an individual “represents a threat of engaging in or conducting a violent act of terrorism,” maybe the public interest isn’t being served if he can obtain transportation-related licenses. Should states take such potential hazards into account when issuing licenses?

And if Amir Meshal is licensed, could he claim discrimination under equal-opportunity laws if school districts don’t want to hire him?

Reportedly, parents in the affected school district “aren’t very happy about it.”

    • Hungary sends tanks to secure Croatia border as refugee crisis worsens

Hungary’s armoured vehicles sent to the border after Croatia sends bus-loads of refugees and migrants

Men, women and children shouted messages of support along the 250-mile border while Hungarian troops sounded the horns of the impressive convoy as they secured land along the border.

[…]Nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban had earlier in the day instructed the army to mount operations across the country’s southern frontier after Croatia sent busloads of migrants to its borders.

[…]Croatia declared it would offer the migrants a clear route onto the EU, but within hours it became completely overwhelmed with the huge numbers arriving across multiple locations.

[…]Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic warned his country was losing control and would not stand alone in taking migrants in that it could not cope with.

Milanovic suggested they would only serve basic humanitarian needs by providing food, water and medical attention, before sending thousands of migrants on their way.

In an astonishing outburst he later claimed his government had “forced” Hungary to take migrants in that it had attempted to shut out with its border closures.

He said: “We forced them, by sending people up there. And we’ll keep doing it.”

    • USA Hillary Clinton calls for US to accept 65,000 Syrian refugees

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton says the U.S. should accept more refugees fleeing war-torn Syria.

“We’re facing the worst refugee crisis since the end of World War II, and I think the United States has to do more,” the former secretary of State said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in.”

President Obama said his administration will let in at least 10,000 refugees.

Former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley, who is also seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, has also called for the U.S. to let in 65,000 refugees.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants have attempted to enter Europe, where some countries have begun to tighten their border security to halt the flow of people.

  20. Everybody’s read about Michael Oren’s devastating memoir of his term as Israeli ambassador to Obama-USA. His history of the Six Day War is definitive, but he’s flogged this one excessively. If I see this one remaindered for a penny, I’ll spring for it.

Meanwhile, Elliot Abrams’ review of Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide is the most comprehensive I’ve seen. Read this and save your money.
[Elliot, by the way, is solidly on our side. I like him.]

  21. Chief Rabbis of Israel call on religious leaders to halt violence

Chief Rabbis David Lau and Yitzhak Yosef, today (Friday, 18 September 2015), called on Islamic religious leaders and the leaders of other religious communities in Israel to work together in bringing about an immediate halt to the violence in Jerusalem and its surrounding area and to prevent riots and violations of public order in the holy places, which are for prayer. The chief rabbis note that it is the responsibility of religious leaders to create an atmosphere that will forestall conflict and friction over the holy places.

“We expect our friends, our partners in the council of religious leaders in Israel, to condemn all those who desecrate the holy places and bring into them weapons of various kinds, and to prevent such phenomena. Israel allows freedom of worship for all faiths and respects their leaders. The holy places are for prayer alone. In these days, of the start of the Jewish year, we pray for a year of peace and coexistence for everyone in the world. May it be a year of tolerance and moderation and may the words of the prophet Isaiah, ‘Nation shall not lift up sword against nation; neither shall they learn war anymore’ be realized,” the chief rabbis said.

  22. Migration Crisis: Germany Wants to Be “Miss Congeniality”
And Have Europe Pick Up the Tab

    http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6501/migration-crisis-germany

Chancellor Merkel today seems to be promising nothing less than absolution for Germany’s sins of the Holocaust. The problem is, of course, that Muslims are quite different from Jews.

German media outlets have suppressed the stories of rampant rape and child abuse among the migrants housed in government-run accommodations.

The editor-in-chief defended her decision to suppress the rape story on public TV broadcaster ZDF: “We don’t want to inflame the situation and spread the bad mood. [The migrants] don’t deserve it.” That the poor rape victim deserved justice was apparently of no concern to the broadcaster.

Germany under Chancellor Merkel wants to play “Miss Congeniality” at the global scale, and wants Europe to pick up the tab.

Overwhelmed by the unprecedented influx of migrants, Germany has imposed temporary border controls. This temporary halt in new arrivals is “intended to give Germany a chance to catch its breath while at the same time ratcheting up the pressure on other European Union member states to accept a quota system for the distribution of asylum recipients across the bloc,” according to Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann of the German state of Bavaria on public radio. Germany’s move to tighten its border controls, however, is not going to halt millions of migrants already mobilized by Berlin’s suspension of existing asylum rules and its open border policy in the first place.

Horst Seehofer, the leader of Christian Social Union (CSU), the Bavaria-based sister party to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU), painted a grim picture, saying that Merkel’s open border policy “was a mistake that will occupy us for a long time yet. I see no possibility of putting the stopper back into the bottle.”

German media is in lockstep with the government, giving happy-talk and a positive spin on migrant crisis of gigantic proportions hitting Europe.

German newspapers and media outlets have suppressed the stories of rampant rape and child abuse among the migrants housed in government-run accommodations. In a recent letter addressed to the Minister of Integration and Social Affairs in the state of Hesse, prominent women’s organizations have described the culture of rape and violence perpetuated by male migrants — right under the nose of German authorities. The letter states:

“It is a fact that women and children [at HEAE accommodation facility, under the supervision of Administrative District of Giessen] are unprotected. This situation is opportune to those men who already regard women as their inferior and treat unaccompanied women as ‘fair game.’ As a consequence, there are reports of numerous rapes, sexual assaults and increasingly of forced prostitution. … These are not isolated incidents.”

According to the letter, women were terrified to walk in the camp even during the day.

  23. Turkey Needs to Practice in Turkey What It Preaches in Cyprus

    http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6499/turkey-cyprus

Turkey has claimed all along that it stays in Cyprus to “protect” the Turkish Cypriot minority. Since Turkey has “protected” them, almost half of Turkish Cypriots have abandoned Cyprus. They have been conveniently replaced by Anatolian Turks whose Islamic orientation and ethos could not be more foreign to Cyprus.

If Turks are so keen on “saving” minorities, why have they not applied the same principles in Turkey to save their own Kurds?

With these circumstances in mind, it might be helpful to summarize the demands of the Turkish Cypriot minority and their patron, Turkey.

The Turkish Cypriots are sort of like the “Kurds” of Cyprus — with the emphasis on the sort of. Like the Kurds in Turkey, the Turkish Cypriots are a sizeable minority in Cyprus — and that may be just about where the similarity ends.

The Greek Cypriots, the original Cypriots, like the Kurds in Turkey, have a provenance that is deeply rooted in history.

They happen to have, in fact, an uninterrupted, well-documented Greek and Christian cultural footprint that dates back over three millennia. Modern Cyprus was born in 1960 out of geostrategic concerns after an anti-colonial struggle, the aim of which was union with Greece.

In Turkey, similarly to the Greeks in Cyprus, the Kurds who have lived mostly in north Kurdistan, the eastern part of the country, have a history as its indigenous people of over a thousand years.

The Turkish minority in Cyprus emerged only during the Ottoman occupation of Cyprus, between the late 16th and late 19th centuries. Since that time, the Turkish Cypriots lived scattered around the island. At present, the Turkish Cypriots form an 18% minority in Cyprus[1], roughly the same percentage as the Kurds’ population in Turkey, estimated at 20%.

  24. MEMRI TV – Mahmoud Abbas: Jews “Have No Right to Defile the Al-Aqsa Mosque with Their Filthy Feet”

In a September 16 address, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared: “The Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are ours. They are all ours, and they have no right to defile them with their filthy feet.” Abbas further said: “We salute every drop of blood spilled for the sake of Jerusalem.” The address was aired on the official TV channel of the Palestinian Authority.

      You Deserve to be Offended
If the sight of a Jew praying offends you, you deserve to be offended.

If the sound of a Jew making a blessing on water, or saying the Shema, or just saying ‘The Lord is my shepard I shall not want’ offends you, you deserve to be offended.

If the sight of Jewish children drives you to scream in their faces and spit on them, you deserve to be offended.

If Jews desecrate your holy site just by their feet being in close proximity to it, then you deserve to have your holy site ‘desecrated.’

We are living in a crazy time. People who only wish to visit and pray at the holiest site in their religion are branded as ‘right-wing religious extremists’ while those who use violence and intimidation to prevent them from doing so are innocents whose rights are being threatened every time a Jew dares to quote a passage from the Book of Psalms.

Jews praying and blessing are a threat to peace. Heck, Jews walking and minding their own business are a threat to peace in this backwards world where stone throwers are somehow practicing ‘non-violence’ despite the people they kill and maim.

The reality is exactly the opposite. People who want to do nothing more than visit and pray at the location they consider to be the holiest on earth are a threat to nothing and to no one. It is those who harass and attack them who are the true threat, both to the safety of others and to the peace we have spent decades trying to achieve.

Freedom of religion does not permit the abuse of people trying to practice their own religion. Being offended does not give one carte blanche to spit on and assault those against whom you have taken offense. And sometimes the fact that you are offended proves that the problem is with you, not with the one doing the supposed offending.

If you are so enraged by Jews walking and maybe even praying on the Temple Mount that it drives you to scream in the faces of the Jews there and to throw rocks and firebombs, you are not showing righteous indignation or defending anything. You are acting out an animalistic hatred that has no place in the civilized world.

If you claim that the campaign to ensure that the Temple Mount is forever Judenrein is justified because Jews ‘desecrate’ it with ‘their filthy feet,’ as Mahmoud Abbas has done, you lose all claims to being called a moderate. You are an inciter to violence and a preacher of Antisemitism.

And if you, from your lofty perches in the EU, UN, or US, cannot see that peace is not threatened by the silent recitation of Psalms, or that peace is not served by defending from all consequences those who throw rocks and firebombs at innocent Jews, then you are part of the problem as well, and will never, ever succeed in bringing about true peace in this part of the world. Because you don’t see anything wrong with people being offended at the existence of Jews.
