2. Intel data was being faked to make it look like US strategy against Islamic insurgency and terrorism was effective.

(Video at site)

The Defense Department inspector general and congressional investigators are reviewing claims that intelligence on the Islamic State was manipulated to present a more positive picture of the U.S. strategy’s effectiveness. Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said these practices, though, extend to how intelligence on Al Qaeda was handled as well.

“I know for a fact this was going on in 2012, because I was told by informants that this was going on back then,” Nunes, head of the intelligence committee, told Fox News. “We thought this was foolish, to pull all of our troops out of Iraq, because we thought, just from our own work, that this would be bad, but the administration was able to say, ‘No, well, this is what the intelligence says.'”

3. Again: Saudi Arabia Wins Bid to Behead of UN Human Rights Council Panel

Saudi executioner swordBREAKING NEWS — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GENEVA, September 20, 2015 – U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power and EU foreign minister Federica Mogherini should condemn and work to reverse the appointment of Saudi Arabia as head of a key UN Human Rights Council panel that selects top officials who shape international human rights standards and report on violations worldwide, said UN Watch, a non-governmental watchdog organization based in Geneva.

“It is scandalous that the UN chose a country that has beheaded more people this year than ISIS to be head of a key human rights panel,” said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer. “Petro-dollars and politics have trumped human rights.”

“Saudi Arabia has arguably the worst record in the world when it comes to religious freedom and women’s rights, and continues to imprison the innocent blogger Raif Badawi,” Neuer added.

4. Scuffles break out in ‘hunger strike’ by ‘refugees’ in Germany where ‘anarchists’ and Germans all divide up along ideological lines.

(Sorry for all the scare quotes but I am confident that they are not refugees, that they will not go hungry, and that there is no such thing as an anarchist. Like Gypsies and other people who pretend not to believe in property rights etc. just try taking their bongos or their bag of North Atlantic organic seaweed)

7. Danish group ‘to display Muhammad cartoons’

A Danish anti-Islam group says it will display controversial cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad on Sep. 26 in central Copenhagen.

“We will do this as no one has the courage to display those cartoons,” Anders Gravers Pedersen, the chairman of ‘Stop Islamization of Denmark’, told public radio on Saturday.

“The Danish press does not want to show. Teachers do not exhibit them while talking about the cartoon crisis. This is a huge problem for free speech,” Pedersen claimed.

The visual depiction of Muhammad is considered offensive by most Muslims. In May, two men who attacked an exhibition of the cartoons in Garland, Texas, were shot dead by police.

8. ISIS chemical weapons: Islamic State launch mustard gas attacks in Syria and Iraq

Mustard gas RUDAW•PA

ISIS have launched mustard gas attacks in Syria and Iraq

It is understood the militant group is making its own as there is no evidence they have acquired mustard gas from government stores in the Middle East.

News of the chemical attacks came after US officials said they suspected ISIS were making and using crude chemical weapons in Syria and Iraq.

Peshmerga fighters in northern Iraq have reported at least five attacks on their positions in northern Iraq in the past two months with mortar shells or Katyusha rockets filled with sulphur mustard, a blistering agent first used during the First World War.

9. Horror and fear in Gaza after Egypt floods tunnels

Seventy-three year old Mansura Abu Sha’ar was more than happy to talk to strangers. People rarely came this far, she told us… and it seemed to her that very few of those that did, cared enough to ask how they were doing.

“Not well at all,” she said needing little prodding. “Not well at all.”

Mansura was clearly exhausted from having stayed up the night before. Fearful for her family, she sat outside her make-shift house just a few hundred metres from the border between Gaza and Egypt, on guard until dawn.

“We’re used to the guns and the rockets and the explosions,” she said. “But now – water ?”

(Maybe if they stop being assholes…)

  1. 8 – Saddam-Era Chemical Weapons Now Under ISIS Control: Reports

    http://www.ibtimes.com/saddam-era-chemical-weapons-now-under-isis-control-reports-1705144

Correction: In the original story, the name of the city where the chemical weapons facility is located was incorrectly mentioned as Muthanna in the third paragraph. While the name of the weapons complex is Muthanna, it is located near the city of Samarra, northwest of Baghdad. The story has been updated to reflect this correction.

According to a recent report published in the journal Middle East Review of International Affairs, or MERIA, militants of the Islamic State group used chemical weapons, including mustard gas, against Kurdish fighters in the Syrian border town of Kobani during their first attempt to capture the town in July.

The report, which is based on testimonies from eyewitnesses on the ground, said that the chemical weapons had been transferred to the Syrian province of Raqqa from a Saddam Hussein-era chemical weapons facility located near the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. The report has prompted fears that ISIS could have access to vast stockpiles of chemical weapons, including sarin, mustard gas, and VX, a nerve agent.

In June, reports emerged that the Islamic State group had captured Muthanna, a chemical weapons facility, near the city of Samarra, located 45 miles northwest of Baghdad. At the time, the United States government said it did not believe that the complex, which was considered to be one of Saddam Hussein’s most important chemical weapons facility, built during Iraq’s war with Iran in the early 1980s, contained “Chemical Weapons materials of military value.”

    • ISIS Likely Captured Iraqi Chemical Weapons, New York Times Confirms

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/14/isis-chemical-weapons-_n_5987106.html

WASHINGTON — A New York Times report confirms that the U.S. government knew that an Iraqi facility now controlled by the Islamic State militant organization likely contained deadly chemical weapons — a finding reported by The Huffington Post on Monday.

The Huffington Post’s report suggesting that ISIS may have gained control of chemical weapons in Iraq was based on a report released Sunday by the Global Research in International Affairs Center at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel. The center’s analysis suggested that ISIS had used the weapons on Kurdish soldiers in the embattled Syrian region of Kobani over the summer, after capturing the massive former chemical weapons facility of Muthanna in Iraq in June.

The U.S. State Department said at the time of Muthanna’s fall that the long-shuttered facility contained chemical weapons residue that ISIS would be unable to transport, much less use. A State Department spokesperson said Tuesday that the government was investigating claims that ISIS had used chemical weapons.

      • The left is ignoring the original reports because they don’t fit the narrative condemning President Bush and his removal of Saddam from power. By ignoring the facts and continuing the lie of no WMDs in Iraq long enough most people will forget the reports o ISIS finding Saddams hoard of poison gas.
