  1. Migrant crisis: Australia PM says stopping boats key for Europe (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-34148931

“Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the refugee and migrant crisis in Europe is proof of the need for tough asylum policies.

Mr Abbott told Australian media that the only way to prevent people dying at sea was to “stop the boats”.

Australia detains any migrants trying to reach its shores by boat, and takes them to offshore processing camps to be eventually resettled elsewhere.

On Thursday, the New York Times described the policy as “brutal”.

In an editorial, the newspaper said the “ruthlessly effective” policy was “inhumane, of dubious legality and strikingly at odds with the country’s tradition of welcoming people fleeing persecution and war”.

It said it would be “unconscionable” for European leaders to consider adopting similar policies, as Mr Abbott has previously suggested.

Australia has not responded to the editorial, but on Friday Mr Abbott said the image of Syrian three-year-old Alan Kurdi, who died trying to reach Greece by boat with his family, was “very sad”.

“If you want to stop the deaths, if you want to stop the drownings you have got to stop the boats,” he told ABC Radio….”

  2. Migrant crisis: Britain set to accept more refugees (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-34148913

“David Cameron is expected to announce plans later to increase the number of refugees being allowed into the UK. No specific figure has been agreed, but Mr Cameron has previously said the UK would continue to take in “thousands”.

The extra refugees are expected to come from UN camps bordering Syria, and not from among people already in Europe. The PM, who has faced growing pressure to do more to address the crisis, is likely to make an announcement in Spain after talks with fellow leaders.

He is meeting his Portuguese and Spanish counterparts for talks that had been intended to focus on his desire for EU reform, but which will be overshadowed by the migrant crisis.

Calls for the UK to take in more refugees have intensified after the publication of a picture of the body of a drowned three-year-old Syrian boy washed up a Turkish beach….”

  3. Frustrated Refugees in Budapest Vow to Walk to Vienna (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/refugees-train-police-2nd-day-standoff-hungary-33530180

“Hundreds of frustrated refugees who have been stuck at Budapest’s Keleti train station for days have begun gathering up their belongings, vowing to make their way to Vienna on foot.

Hungarian police stood aside and watched as the refugees, mostly young men, whistled and chanted. They say they are fed up with being stuck in limbo and are prepared to go by foot the 240 kilometers (150 miles) to the Austrian capital. The group is quickly gathering in size amid a tense atmosphere.

For days Hungarian authorities have been preventing refugees from Syria and elsewhere from traveling to Austria and Germany.”

      • Yes, Uncle Vlad is getting a kick out of this spectacle.

He must be proud of his all grown-up little ones, the countries of eastern Europe. They’re making sensible noises, the only ones heard over the deafening bleating of the sheep that comprise the core of the vaunted EU.

        • They are being the sensible ones, they are also the ones with the most experience of Moslem in their nations, they know the danger better then anyone else.

      • I hope the number is wrong, that many would mean 4 to 7 males of fighting age, that is a large army to let into your nation.

      • Not just ISIS, part are Hezbollah, part are Qods (sp?) force part are Hamas, and on down the line of terror groups.

    • Germany: Migrants not fleeing danger “must leave our country” – Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke about the refugee crisis effecting Germany during a visit to Essen, Friday, to support the mayoral candidate for the Christian Democrat Union Party (CDU/CSU) Thomas Kufan.

Speaking at the city’s Burgplatz square, Merkel stated that “those who are really fleeing from war, necessesity, oppression and violence can remain permamently with us,” adding that “those that can not prove that they are here for these reasons, we must say that you must leave our country.”

      • She knows Uncle Vlad. That he’s laughing himself to tears. So she’s saying something vaguely sensible, in fact she knows herself taken for a fool.

        • Don’t forget Austria and Poland were what stopped the last land invasion in that region. If is amazing the number of times throughout history when battles have been won because someone put a major force on the top of a hill using a side that people said couldn’t be climbed. This happened during the French and Indian was against the French and then the Brits didn’t fortify the hill they used to force the French to surrender, the Patriots climbed the back side and forced the Brits to surrender.
During WWII the Yank Canadian force The Devils Brigade climbed a cliff at night to make a dawn attack on the rear of a German Position. I don’t know if the book is still available but the movie was on You Tube a couple of years ago.

          • I guess lots of rules of war remain constant.

Israel will never give up the Golan Heights because that’s obvious. Demands for withdrawal are a red flag.

            • The rules for winning a war never change, the rules people impose trying to make war less horrible change all the time and given what is happening will probably be forgotten 10 to 30 years from now.

            • Never underestimate human stupidity and arrogance, the combination has lost more battles and destroyed more nations then anything else.

  4. Islamic State ‘blows up Palmyra funerary towers’ (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34150905

“Jihadist militants from Islamic State (IS) have blown up three funerary towers at the ancient city of Palmyra, Syria’s antiquities chief has said.

Maamoun Abdul Karim told the AFP news agency that “the best preserved and most beautiful” had been destroyed.

The multi-storey sandstone monuments, standing outside the city walls in an area known as the Valley of the Tombs, belonged to rich Palmyrene families.

Their demolition comes only days after IS blew up Palmyra’s two main temples.

The group, which captured the Unesco World Heritage site from government forces in May, has previously destroyed two Islamic shrines near Palmyra, which they described as “manifestations of polytheism”….”

    • Destroying historical sites is a crime against humanity, so is rewriting history so it is politically correct.

  5. Immigrants throw away the food and the water what they get in Hungary on 2015, september 3

    • Dyer is right about the mass war at this moment, the bad guys in the Mideast don’t have the assets to stand up to us in a kicking match Obama is busy destroying our military assets. My informants tell me that Obama is trying to get all of our mothballed military equipment cut up and sold as scrap, these are weapons and vehicles that we will have to rebuild (which takes time) and probably pay a premium for them for a hurried rebuild.

Given the way there is no coordination with Russia us shooting at them or them shooting at us is a very real possibility, the result of such an incident will depend on who is President and
how far Putin thinks he can push us. We could become involved (it is unlikely at this moment but still possible) in a large scale land war (mass war) in Europe. And this at a time when we don’t have the men or equipment fo fight such a war.

She is also confining this briefing to the Mideast and ignoring the way China and its sock puppet North Korea are becoming more active in the far east. This activity is where the chance for a mass war scenario is the strongest.

To sum this up we are sailing in uncharted waters with a lot of reefs around and are in the middle of a hurricane in a leaky boat.

  6. Refugee Situation ‘Out of Control’ Says Greek Island Mayor

On Friday morning, about a thousand of them, with most of them being Afghans, tried to take over a ferry.

While shouting “Athens-Athens,” the refugees stormed Blue Star 1 ferry. The ship crew raised the passageway trapping hundreds of regular passengers who had already embarked, among the refugees.

The number of refugees is lost, it’s out of control. There is danger that a spark may start a big fire…

Some 10,000 refugees and migrants were led from the area of the port of Mytilene to an open space near the beach

  7. Chinese navy zooms Obama’s Alaska trip

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2015/09/03/chinese-navy-zooms-obamas-alaska-trip/

Here is her analysis of the situation in the Pacific based around the Chinese task force deployed off Alaska to show Obama he isn’t boss.

The end section of the report touches on the Chinese building artificial islands and arming them in the South China Sea. China is trying to take over that region and make it an area that you enter with there permission only. Since about half of the worlds trade goods passes through the South China Sea think about the amount of revenue they could extort if they succeed in taking total control. This would also take care of the economic problems (temporally) that China has, and make the economic survival of most of the nations in that region dependent on the good will of the Chinese.

Three of the nations that are being affected are Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, all are our allies and we are bound by law (treaties signed by the US and the other nations) to defend. Others that are not directly affected but who would be affect by Chinese control of that region are Australia and New Zealand.

The above reasons are why China and their sock puppet North Korea are interested in keeping the middle east in turmoil, especially when the US has reduced its military to the point we probably couldn’t fight in the far east and the mid east at the same time without a crash rebuild on the scale of WWII which would take one or two years. Possibly longer if Obama manages to scrap out our mothballed military equipment.

  9. REBEL MEDIA – Sweden now “Absurdistan” says journalist

A woman and her son were murdered by refugees in a Swedish IKEA store last month. It’s the latest in an immigrant crime wave that’s seen that nation’s rape rate increase 1400 percent.

Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media is joined by Swedish journalist Ingrid Carlqvist to talk about the situation. She calls her country “Absurdistan,” saying it all started in 1975 when the Swedish parliament secretly mandated multiculturalism.

“Sweden wants to be the humanitarian superpower of the world,” Carlqvist said. But now ordinary Swedes — if not the major parties or the media — are “waking up.”

  14. Saudi king meets Obama amid concerns over Iran deal (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34153624

“King Salman of Saudi Arabia has met President Barack Obama in Washington, on his first trip to the United States since assuming the throne in January. The meeting comes amid a period of strained bilateral relations.

The king reiterated the concern of Gulf states over the recent deal on Iran’s nuclear programme.
They fear that lifting sanctions could allow Iran to extend its support for militant groups and actions across the region they consider destabilising.

Mr Obama pressed King Salman to ensure humanitarian organisations are given unrestricted access to Yemen, where the Saudis are leading a coalition against the Houthi rebel movement.

“We share concerns about Yemen and the need to restore a function government that is inclusive and that can relieve the humanitarian situation there,” Mr Obama said after the meeting…”

    • Saudi is very concerned over the deal, it is forcing them to buy many more weapons and hire mercs to fight for them. They are rapidly becoming a superpower in the mideast.

  15. Yemen crisis: UAE soldiers ‘killed by blasts at camp’ (BBC, Sep 4, 2015)

The military statement did not specify the circumstances of their deaths. Yemeni military sources said they died in explosions triggered accidentally by a fire at an ammunition store, but the rebels say a rocket caused the blasts.

Separately, Bahrain said five of its soldiers were killed while protecting Saudi Arabia’s frontier with Yemen. It did not say how the troops died.

The UN says some 4,500 people – including at least 2,110 civilians – have been killed in fighting on the ground and by coalition air strikes since late March…”

The interior ministry said eight policemen were killed in the attacks, in the town of Vahdat just outside Dushanbe and at a central interior ministry building. Officials blamed sacked Deputy Defence Minister Gen Aduhalim Nazarzoda, saying he was leading a “terrorist group”.

The US embassy said it had closed and warned that the clashes “may be precursors to other acts of violence”.

In a statement given to a state-owned news agency, the interior ministry said that early on Friday morning an “organised criminal group” had launched armed attacks on Vahdat’s internal affairs department and on the central government building in Dushanbe…”

  17. Muslim Activist Anjem Choudary Freed On Bail

Choudary and another man are to stand trial at the Old Bailey next year on charges connected with encouraging support for IS.

Controversial preacher Anjem Choudary, who is awaiting trial accused of inviting support for the terror group Islamic State, is being released from custody.

Choudary 48, has been on remand at Belmarsh high security prison in London since being charged on 5 August.

The East London-based activist appeared by video link at an Old Bailey hearing before Judge Mr Justice Saunders.

It is alleged that Choudary committed an offence related to Islamic State’s status as a “proscribed terrorist organisation” – support for the group is banned in the UK.

He is charged with Mohammed Rahman, 32, of Whitechapel, east London, who is also accused of inviting support for IS.

Rahman, who has also been on remand since his arrest, appeared alongside Choudary at the same hearing and was also granted bail.

The charges both men face relate to their alleged activities between 29 June 2014 and 6 March this year.

The prosecution claims Choudary and Rahman publicised support for IS and leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi through lectures published online.

Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000 states that a person commits an offence if they invite “support for a proscribed organisation, and the support is not, or is not restricted to, the provision of money or other property”.

The Home Office moved to ban Islamic State, which it calls Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in June last year.

The two men are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey in January next year.

  18. Uzbekistan Bomb Blast Near Tashkent Mosque

A bomb has exploded near the Tokhtaboy Mosque in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, where a controversial imam was once the chief cleric.

The explosion happened just after Friday Prayers on September 4.

Police confirmed the explosion to RFE/RL and said it was caused by an improvised explosive device left at a bus stop.

Police said no one was injured by the blast and added they were searching for a suspect who witnesses said left the bomb and ran away.

Obidkhon Qori Nazarov was the imam at the Tokhtaboy Mosque in the 1990s but fled the country in 1998 as the authorities prepared to detain him on charges of involvement with Islamic militants, charges Nazarov denied.

Nazarov eventually received asylum in Sweden in 2006, where in 2012 he was the target of an assassination attempt.

Swedish prosecutor Krister Petersson told RFE/RL on September 2 that there was abundant evidence suggesting that Uzbek authorities were behind the assassination attempt.

  19. WATERPORT NY – Police: Two crosses burned into lawn of local mosque

A biased crime is the subject of a police investigation in Orleans County; police are searching for the person who burned crosses into the lawn of a religious institution.

Deputies say they responded to the scene of the burned crosses at about 9:30 p.m. on Fuller Road on Thursday night. The person who burned the grass utilized an accelerant like gasoline to outline the crosses before igniting them on the Mosque’s lawn.

Investigators worked throughout the morning to search for additional evidence and witnesses to attempt to bring a person to justice, and in the afternoon, officers identified three people in connection with the case.

“The reaction on social media is people are upset with the misunderstanding of what the place is,” Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputy Investigator C.J. Laubacher said. “It’s a place for people to worship their religion; they’re not bad people, they’re good people and whoever did this, I hope they get caught.”

Police say the three people who they identified as responsible are all under 21-years-old; they will reportedly surrender themselves on Tuesday.

A picture, sent in by a News 4 viewer, depicts one of the two crosses that police are calling a bias crime. Deputies say they have responded to the mosque before to investigate potential hate crimes, including an incident in 2010 that led to arrests.

The investigation is continuing, but police say they don’t expect anybody else to be identified as responsible.

“We were at the mosque today, and we are going to try to up our patrols in the area,” Laubacher said. “We don’t see the problem with getting the extra manpower to avoid any future problems and maybe develop more information for this investigation.”

As deputies investigate the crime, they’re asking the public to report crimes like this to them. Anybody can call information in to Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputies at (585) 589-5527.

  20. BREITBART Edward Snowden: ‘Completely Ridiculous’ to Think Hillary Clinton’s Email Server Was Secure

Former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden held forth on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal during an interview with Al-Jazeera on Thursday.

Snowden, who knows a thing or two about compromising national security, was not impressed with Clinton’s excuses. “This is a problem because anyone who has the clearances that the secretary of state has, or the director of any top level agency has, knows how classified information should be handled,” he asserted.

He pointed out that there would be consequences for anyone else who did what Clinton has done:

If an ordinary worker at the State Department or the Central Intelligence Agency, or anything like that, were sending details about the security of embassies, which is alleged to be in her email … meetings with private government officials, foreign government officials and the statements that were made to them in confidence over unclassified email systems, they would not only lose their jobs and lose their clearance, they would very likely face prosecution for it.
