  1. In Yemen, 34 civilians killed in bombing of water bottling factory (CNN, Aug 31, 2015)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/08/30/middleeast/yemen-bottle-factory/index.html

“A Saudi-led airstrike on a water bottling factory in Yemen left 34 dead and dozens injured, the Yemeni Defense Ministry said.

Saudi Arabia authorities have not responded to CNN’s request for comment on the attack.

According to Reuters, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Asseri, coalition spokesman, said the bombing target was used by Houthis rebels to construct explosive devices and to train African migrants forced to take up arms.

Yemeni Defense Ministry spokesperson Sharaf Luqman said the attack occurred in Abs district of the Hajjah province.

The coalition led by the Saudis started bombing Yemen in March. The coalition includes the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan and Sudan.

The Saudis say they want to restore the Yemeni government, a key U.S. ally in the fight against al Qaeda, which was kicked out of the capital by Houthi rebels earlier this year.”

  2. Nigeria’s Boko Haram ‘spreads to Lagos’ (BBC, Aug 31, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-34105931

“Boko Haram is trying to expand its activities beyond Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north, to include the commercial capital Lagos, as well as other parts of the country, officials say.

Twelve members of the Islamist militant group have been arrested in Lagos, Nigeria’s intelligence agency says.

It is not possible to independently verify details of the statement…”

  3. Austria Inspects Trucks for Migrants, Creates 15-Mile Backup (abcnews, Aug 31, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/austria-inspects-trucks-migrants-creates-15-mile-backup-33427565

“Austria’s decision to start inspecting trucks at its border with Hungary after 71 migrants died in a food truck has created a huge, 25-kilometer (15 1/2-mile) traffic jam on the main Budapest-Vienna highway.

The Hungarian traffic firm Utinform reported the backup at the Hegyeshalom border crossing Monday and said traffic was slower than usual at other Hungary-Austria border crossings.

Both countries are part of the European Union’s Schengen zone of passport-free travel. Under normal circumstances, vehicles are rarely inspected at the border anymore.

Austrian police say the 71 migrants likely suffocated to death in a truck with Hungarian license plates abandoned last week in Austria on the Budapest-Vienna highway. Five suspected human traffickers have been detained in the case and Hungary is stepping up its arrests of smugglers.”

  4. 200 Residents of Iraqi Town Held by Islamic State Group (abcnews, Aug 31, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/200-residents-iraqi-town-held-islamic-state-group-33428051

“The mayor of a remote, Islamic State-held town in western Iraq says some 200 residents are detained by the group after clashes there.

Trouble in Rutbah, in Anbar province, started Saturday when Islamic State militants killed a local resident for killing a member of the group as part of a long-running blood feud. Hundreds of residents demonstrated later on that day to protest the killing and clashes broke out when the militants attempted to disperse the protesters.

A provincial Anbar official said Saturday some 70 residents were detained by the militants and more than 100 more were tied to streetlight poles for about 24 hours as a punishment.

Rutbah’s mayor, Imad al-Rishawy, said Monday that around 200 residents are still held by the Islamic State group at an unknown location.”

“Islamic State (IS) militants have destroyed part of Palmyra’s 2,000-year-old Temple of Bel – the largest temple at the ancient Syrian site, reports say.
The militants seized control of the world-famous Greco-Roman ruins north-east of Damascus in May.

“This is such a major blow on a different order to anything else that’s happened for the whole of Syria,” said Syria expert Diana Darke. “Syria doesn’t know how to report this – it’s such a major loss.”

The conlict in Syria had been left untreated like an open wound for four years, added the author.

Investigators released a photograph of the woman, identified as Wanna Suansan, 26, showing the suspect wearing a hijab – the Islamic term for the head-scarf – in a picture from an identity card.

Ms Wanna is the first suspect named in the investigation into the August 17 bombing.

She was said to have been living with an unidentified foreign man in an apartment where police found explosives, electric wiring and timing devices after a tip-off. A photofit of the new male suspect was also released…”

      • Thai Woman Sought in Bangkok Bombing Believed to Be in Turkey

She had been away for three months before the bombing

Police in Thailand say relatives of a woman whose arrest they are seeking in connection with the deadly Aug. 17 bombing at a central Bangkok landmark have told them they believe she is in Turkey.

Police on Monday issued an arrest warrant for the woman, identified as Wanna Suansun., who was listed as having rented an apartment where bomb-making materials were found by authorities. Police raided the woman’s registered residence in the southern province of Phang Nga, but did not find her.

Police Maj. Gen Chalit Keawyarat said her relatives told them she had been away for three months, and they believed she was in Turkey because her husband is Turkish.

  8. Europe must not erect ‘new iron curtains’ against migrants, warns former German chancellor (telegraph, Aug 31, 2015)
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/11834641/Europe-must-not-erect-new-iron-curtains-against-migrants-warns-former-German-chancellor.html

“Europe must not erect “new iron curtains” in a futile bid to stem the flow of migrants over its borders, former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder has warned.

Mr Schröder, German chancellor from 1998 until 2005, argued that attempts to build barriers in Europe to keep out migrants is pointless and that only legalisation can keep the soaring influx of newcomers under control.

He also called for a “modern immigration policy” for Germany.

“We will not be able to seal off Europe. Neither the Mediterranean nor new walls, like those being built in Hungary for instance, hold back people in desperation,” he wrote in a comment piece for German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

“If we try to close the door to the asylum procedure, we must therefore open a legal door to immigration. It is only through legalisation on immigration that we have a chance to be able to keep it under control.

“We must not try to prevent this migration in and to Europe by using new iron curtains. Instead we must manage it, integrate and create prospects in the countries of origin.”…”

  9. Isis releases graphic video showing four Shia ‘spies’ being burned alive in Anbar, Iraq

Isis has released a graphic new execution video purporting to show four Shia “spies” being burned alive in Iraq.

Issued by the militant group’s media arm and claiming to be filmed in Anbar province, the footage shows four men apparently from Iraq’s popular resistance forces (militia), “confessing” individually to the camera.

The men are then strung up by their hands and feet to a wooden frame, before a fire is lit beneath them and they are burned to death.

Isis has entitled the video with a line from the Koran, roughly translated as “Punish them with the same harm they have caused you”, and experts said it came in direct response to videos showing similar atrocities circulated by Iraq’s Shia fighters.

Last week, a video circulated on social media showed the Shia militia leader Abu Azrael torturing and killing a Sunni fighter, accused of Isis allegiance, by burning him alive over an open pit.

In the early stages of Isis’s new video, the four prisoners are shown as they are made to watch that footage.

  10. German media and celebs rally for refugees

Germany may have witnessed violent anti-refugee protests this week — but the message from the country’s media and celebrities is a loud and determined welcome for people fleeing the horrors of war.

As part of its “We’re helping” campaign, Germany’s Bild am Sonntag tabloid devoted seven pages to celebrities from football stars like Lukas Podolski to business leaders like Daimler’s boss Dieter Zetsche to musicians like Scorpions lead singer Klaus Meine, all mobilising “against refugee hate”.

The tabloid, which has launched a high-profile charity campaign to assist refugees, also ran an editorial by Nobel-winning writer Herta Mueller titled: “I was also a refugee.”

The editorial recalled how hundreds of thousands of Germans fled their country during Nazi rule.

“Everyone who fled into exile from the Nazis was saved… Germany must do what other countries had done earlier for the Germans,” wrote Mueller.

“We have the responsibility given the past. But beyond that, sympathy is an act of humanity. Those who no longer know that have a brutal concept of homeland that once drove Germans out of Germany,” she wrote.

Germany is expecting an unprecedented 800,000 asylum-seekers this year as Europe grapples with its biggest migration crisis since World War II.

While many believe that Germany’s wealth — combined with the dark legacy of its Nazi past — mean it has a unique responsibility to provide safe haven to the persecuted, not everyone has been happy to see refugee centres springing up across the country.

A spate of arson attacks have hit these shelters, and far-right protesters have organised noisy and sometimes violent demonstrations against refugees.

Hostility is strongest in the former communist east, which still lags behind the west in terms of jobs and opportunities a quarter-century after reunification.

In that context, the eastern town of Heidenau has become a symbol of Germany’s struggle to absorb the massive arrivals, with dozens injured in clashes last weekend between police and extreme-right activists opposing the opening of a new refugee centre there.

When Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the centre this week to show her support, she was booed by a crowd who called her a traitor.

Many media outlets have added their voices to Bild’s.

News magazine Der Spiegel ran two different covers this week: the first, titled “Dark Germany”, showed a refugee centre in flames; the second, titled “Bright Germany” bore a message of hope, with migrant children releasing balloons into the sky.

“It’s up to us to decide how we’re going to live. We have the choice,” the magazine said.

In Munich, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper offered its readers a practical guide for how to donate clothes and food to the new arrivals.

A slew of celebrities, too, have come out in support.

“Dear refugees, it’s good that you’re here,” German Real Madrid player Toni Kroos said in comments reported by the press, “because it allows us to test our values and show respect to others.”

The actor Til Schweiger is among the most prominent pro-migrant voices in German showbiz, while rock singer Udo Lindenberg is hoping to organise a major Berlin concert against anti-migrant hate, slated for October 4.

This is not the first time Germany has seen a jump in racist crimes — nor the first time it has witnessed an outpouring of calls for tolerance in response.

In 2000, then chancellor Gerhard Schroeder called for an “uprising of decent people” after a synagogue was burned down in the western city of Duesseldorf.

Germany is “a tolerant and open country”, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere insisted in a weekend interview with the newspaper Die Welt, blasting those who “believe they represent the silent majority when they prey on foreigners”.

In an editorial entitled “Who we are”, the paper said that in spite of the xenophobic attacks, the positive response from ordinary Germans is “changing the face of Germany”, a nation that is “in the process of rediscovering itself” by welcoming large numbers of people in need.

In January, a survey by the non-profit Bertelsmann Foundation found the German public largely sympathetic to the refugees; 60 percent said they were ready to welcome the newcomers, up from 49 percent three years ago.

But the study noted that the country remains divided on whether immigration is an opportunity for Europe’s economic powerhouse, or a burden.

In Dresden — capital of the eastern Saxony state that has borne the brunt of the anti-migrant violence — thousands took to the streets on Saturday to take a stand against the xenophobic attacks.

“Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here,” they chanted.

  11. Central banks can’t save the markets from a crash. They shouldn’t even try

    http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/aug/30/central-banks-cant-save-markets-crash-shouldnt-try

The problems with the article mainly boil down to the idea that the government maintains the economy!! This isn’t true, it is the private sector that maintains the economy and they are the force that grow the economy. In order to buy the debt for QE the government must borrow the money, the same thing with the government programs that are designed to grow the economy. By borrowing the money the government freezes the private sector and reduce the economic growth if not totally stifling any growth. The left is so tied to idea of the government doing everything they refuse to accept the idea that government interference in the economy causes the problems not fixes them. They also refuse to try the proven solution to economic down turns, cutting taxes (freeing more money for the private sector to spend, all private sector spending for anything legal ends up growing the economy and generates more revenue for the government) cutting government spending (once again freeing money for the private sector) reducing the size of the government work force (freeing more ,money for the private sector) and reducing government regulations (making it eaiser and cheaper for the private sector to grow).

The big reason the Chinese are worried about the fall of their stock market is the fact that the Chinese government owns a very large segment of all banks, this makes the bank debts government debt. When the bank debt is added to the government debt it more then doubles the US government debt. Since a stock market crash will more then likely cause bank failures which will drive the government into actual if not admitted bankruptcy. This was what caused the USSR to break apart and the Chinese communist party is afraid of losing control like the Russia communist party did. Also they saw the break up of the USSR/Russian Empire and are afraid that something similar will happen in China if they lose control.

The Middle East is a vast war for territory today. Besides the other combatants, “Iranian proxies” occupy swaths of Iraq now – north, south, and east of Baghdad – and have drawn Saudi Arabia into a war in Yemen. That’s in addition to their hydra-headed activities in Syria, Lebanon, the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan, and Gaza. This isn’t a random grab-bag of happenings; it has strategic meaning just because of the geography, regardless of whether you accept that it’s part of a grand Iranian strategy.

Here is a key point about the line between probability and improbability. The United States, under Obama, isn’t going to do anything about Iran’s adventure in Yemen. The Saudis don’t have the power to forcibly eject Iran from Yemen. In the post-American-leadership era, in fact, there isn’t anyone who – singlehandedly – can either oust Iran or keep her reined in, in her activities in Yemen. There exists no great-power-centered vehicle, diplomatic or military, for performing that task.

  15. ITALY –Murder of elderly couple in Sicily fuels Italy’s growing anti-immigrant sentiment

Pensioners were murdered in their home, allegedly by an 18-year-old migrant from Ivory Coast

Italy’s simmering anti-immigrant sentiment has been stoked by the murder of an elderly couple in their home in Sicily, allegedly by an African asylum seeker.

Mamadou Kamara, an 18-year-old from the Ivory Coast, allegedly slit the throat of Vincenzo Solano, 68, and then attacked his Spanish-born wife, Mercedes Ibanez, 70.

Ms Ibanez fell to her death from a second-floor balcony, during a robbery that turned violent.

Mr Kamara is one of thousands of migrants and refugees living at a vast reception centre at nearby Mineo, in south-eastern Sicily.

They are accommodated there after arriving by boat from Libya, and wait sometimes for months to have their asylum applications assessed.

The migrants are allowed to come and go freely from the facility, a former US military base where prostitution, links with organised crime and the trade in illicit goods is said to be rife.

Mr Kamara, who was rescued in the Mediterranean on June 8 and brought with other migrants to the port of Catania in Sicily, allegedly broke into the pensioners’ flat in the village of Palagonia, six miles away, and slit the throat of Mr Solano.

The elderly man’s wife was found dead in the courtyard of their three-storey apartment block. Investigators believe she may have fallen over the balcony in panic after trying to flee the attacker.

Mr Kamara was arrested after police searched his bag on Sunday as he returned to the migrant centre.

Inside they found a mobile telephone, a laptop computer, a video camera and a pair of trousers, allegedly belonging to Mr Solano, that were covered in blood.

The young African man claimed to have “found” the items, but police arrested him and are expected to charge him with two counts of murder.

The trousers were identified as belonging to Mr Solano by one of his daughters, who was contacted by police.

The pensioner had retired back to his native Sicily a decade ago after working for years in a Mercedes car factory in Germany. Detectives believe that other migrants may have been involved in the burglary.

More than 100,000 refugees have arrived by boat in Italy this year, making the crossing from Libya in overcrowded rubber dinghies and leaky fishing boats. Last year, a record 170,000 arrived on Italian shores.

Patience is wearing thin among many Italians, with some of the country’s 20 regions refusing to accommodate any more migrants and centre-Right parties accusing the centre-Left government of Matteo Renzi, the prime minister, of having lost control of the country’s borders.

“Italians fear for their lives inside their own homes,” said Gianluca Buonanno, an MEP with the Northern League, a staunchly anti-immigrant party of the Right.

“This is Renzi’s national security strategy. What kind of country are we living in?”

Giorgia Meloni, another centre-Right politician and a close ally of Silvio Berlusconi, the former prime minister, said: “The instigator of the murder of these two innocents is the Italian state, which is responsible for having kept open a facility … which we said should be closed down.”

“The murdered couple had returned from living in Germany to enjoy their retirement in Sicily,” a relative told La Stampa newspaper. “They shouldn’t have died like this, slaughtered like goats.”

ITALY – Ivorian migrant suspected of killing

Victim’s daughter accuses the state of being responsible

Catania, August 31 – A police forensic team searched for evidence overnight on Sunday after husband and wife, Vittorio Solano, 68 and Mercedez Ibaniz, 70, were discovered dead in their home in Palagonia near Catania. Police arrested an 18-year-old Ivorian man, Mamadou Kamara, who was found with blood-stained trousers as well as a mobile phone and clothes belonging to Solano in the Cara di Mineo migrant reception centre in June.

A police car went round to the couple’s home to investigate the burglary but discovered the killings instead.

Ibaniz’ body was found in the courtyard, while Solano was discovered inside, his body presenting clear signs of a likely scuffle.
“It is also the state’s fault if my parents were killed.
They let these migrants come here and they do what they want, including burgling and killing” said the couple’s daughter Rosita Solano.

  16. UN criticizes Czechs over refugees

Prague holds refugees too long in bad conditions

Geneva, Switzerland, Aug 30 (?TK) — The Czech Republic holds asylum applicants in facilities with unsuitable conditions for too long, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has written in its latest report.

The committee writes about the spreading of prejudices and stereotypes about refugees and asylum applicants in the Czech Republic, especially among young people. It writes about attacks against those who defend the rights of foreigners.

The UN expressed concern about Islamophobia preached by groups such as We Don’t Want Islam in the Czech Republic, which is allegedly openly supported by some politicians.

Czech media put too strong emphasis on ethnic origin and nationality in reports on crime committed by people who do not belong to the majority society, the U.N. committee said in the report released on Friday.

It claims that the Czech state issues orders for the extradition of immigrants without valid identity documents even before registering their applications for asylum.

[…]However, it said the country does not have enough reliable social and economic data concerning ethnic minorities and foreigners. The committee also said the powers of the ombudsman were too limited.

  19. Myanmar’s president signs off on law seen as targeting Muslims

Myanmar’s president on Monday signed into law the last of four controversial bills championed by radical Buddhists but decried by rights groups as aimed at discriminating against the country’s Muslim minority.

Myanmar, which will hold its first democratic national poll in more than two decades on Nov. 8, has seen a flowering of anti-Muslim hate speech since the military gave up full power and opened up politics and the economy in 2011.

President Thein Sein signed the Monogamy Bill after it was passed by parliament on August 21, Zaw Htay, a senior official at the president’s office, told Reuters. The law was briefly sent back to parliament for review before being signed.

The bill sets punishments for people who have more than one spouse or live with an unmarried partner other than the spouse.

The government denies it is aimed at Muslims, estimated to make up about 5 percent of the population, and some of whom practice polygamy.

The president also signed two other laws, which restrict religious conversion and interfaith marriage, on August 26, Zaw Htay said.

The measures are part of four “Race and Religion Protection Laws” championed by the Committee for the Protection of Nationality and Religion, or Ma Ba Tha.

The laws were dangerous for Myanmar, said an official of New York-based Human Rights Watch.

“They set out the potential for discrimination on religious grounds and pose the possibility for serious communal tension,” said Phil Robertson, deputy director of the Asia division of Human Rights Watch.

“Now that these laws are on the books, the concern is how they are implemented and enforced.”

In May, the president signed a Ma Ba Tha-backed population control bill that forces some women to space three years between each birth.

The monk-led group has stoked sentiment against Muslims, whom it has accused of trying to take over Myanmar and outbreed its Buddhist majority.

Hundreds of people have been killed in flare-ups of religious violence in Myanmar. In 2012, an incident in Rakhine State led to the displacement of more than 140,000 people, most of them members of the stateless Rohingya Muslim minority.

European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans announced the funding. He has been visiting the northern port, along with other top EU officials.

For Britain and France, Calais is the focus of the wider migration crisis.

“We will make up to five million euros available to the French authorities,” said Timmermans.

“It will be used to set up a camp that can provide humanitarian assistance to around 15-hundred migrants. The money will also go on transporting asylum seekers to other destinations in France.”

A woman, reportedly a Femen protester, was led away after voicing criticism as France’s prime minister spoke in Calais. She is said to have shouted “it took 200,000 people to regain your humanity.”

Away from the officials, thousands of migrants are currently living in a makeshift camp in Calais. Flimsy tents and plastic are their only protection from the elements.

Boarding lorries bound for Britain is the aim for many. The entrance of the Eurotunnel undersea link is nearby.

Euronews reporter Sandor Zsiro said: “In this area of Calais, dubbed ‘The Jungle,’ the humanitarian situation is unbearable, the conditions dire.

“In recent months, the authorities have built this fence, which aims to help stop migrants attempting to climb on trucks.”

More than 300,000 people have crossed the Mediterranean this year. Nearly 181,500 have arrived in Greece and 108,500 in Italy, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

  21. Germany: ‘Full power’ of state to be used against those who attack refugees – Merkel

The German state will use the full force of its laws against those who use violence against refugees and migrants in the country, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in Berlin on Monday. “There should be no tolerance for those, who question the dignity of others,” she added. Her words follow a string of arson attacks against refugee accommodation across Germany and a series of violent protests against the refugees’ arrival.

Describing Germany as a “strong country” that has “already managed so many things,” Merkel stressed that it had the capacity to deal adequately with the growing numbers of refugees arriving at its borders.“We can do it and whenever there is something standing in our way, we’ll need to cross that,” she said.

  22. AUG 31 2015 – China explosion: City of Shandong rocked as huge blast rips through chemical factory

A massive explosion has ripped through a region in China.

Bright flames and black smoke were seen from what is thought to be a chemical factory this evening.

The explosion was seen and heard in the industrial zone of Lijin, Dongying City of Shandong, just before 11.30pm local time.

Around 2,000 pro-refugee activists marched through the streets of Leipzig, Monday, to protest against PEGIDA offshoot LEGIDA who were holding a rally in the German city.

  24. AUSTRIA – VIENNA – 20,000 demonstrate in Austria after migrant truck tragedy: police

Vienna (AFP) – Around 20,000 people demonstrated in Vienna on Monday against ill-treatment of migrants after the bodies of 71 refugees were found in an abandoned truck last week, police said.

Demonstrators rallied at the city’s Westbahnhof train station before marching down a major shopping thoroughfare.

The march took place as a service was held for the dead at St Stephen’s Cathedral.

“We’ve had enough — enough of the deaths, the suffering and the persecution,” the archbishop of Vienna, Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn, told the congregation, which included senior government members.

He said it was “too awful” to think of the plight of the migrants in the truck, four of whom were children.

The grim discovery was made in a refrigerated truck found off a motorway near the Hungarian border.

The march and service took place shortly after trains carrying hundreds of migrants arrived from Budapest at Westbahnhof station after they had been stopped at the Austrian border with Hungary for several hours.

After pulling into Westbahnhof, many migrants boarded a train to the Austrian city of Salzburg, while others climbed on to another one headed for Munich in southern Germany, with police looking on, an AFP correspondent at the scene said.

  27. BREITBART EXCLUSIVE – Hillary Shared An Email Network With The Clinton Foundation

[…]Numerous Clinton Foundation employees used the presidentclinton.com server for their own email addresses, which means that they were using email accounts that, if hacked, would have given any hacker complete access to Hillary Clinton’s State Department emails, as well.

[…]The bombshell revelation raises new concerns about the possible illegality of Hillary Clinton’s private email use. The former Secretary of State is under federal investigation for potentially violating the Espionage Act by allowing people without a security clearance to access classified information. The fact that Hillary was sharing an email network with a private foundation means that people without a security clearance almost certainly had physical access to her server while she was working at the State Department.

[…]President Clinton’s server was created in 2002, while Hillary’s was created in 2009, which means that Hillary’s server was simply added to Bill’s Foundation-run server network

  28. Russian jets in Syrian skies

Russia has begun its military intervention in Syria, deploying an aerial contingent to a permanent Syrian base, in order to launch attacks against ISIS and Islamist rebels; US stays silent.

Russian fighter pilots are expected to begin arriving in Syria in the coming days, and will fly their Russian air force fighter jets and attack helicopters against ISIS and rebel-aligned targets within the failing state.

[…]According to Western diplomats, a Russian expeditionary force has already arrived in Syria and set up camp in an Assad-controlled airbase. The base is said to be in area surrounding Damascus, and will serve, for all intents and purposes, as a Russian forward operating base.

[…]In the coming weeks thousands of Russian military personnel are set to touch down in Syria, including advisors, instructors, logistics personnel, technical personnel, members of the aerial protection division, and the pilots who will operate the aircraft.

[…]The Russians do not harbor offensive intentions towards Israel or other sovereign states in the area, and their main stated goal is battling ISIS and preserving Assad’s rule. However, their presence will represent a challenge to the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of operation in the skies above the Middle East.

[…]Western diplomatic sources have emphasized that the Obama administration is fully aware of the Russian intent to intervene directly in Syria, but has yet to issue any reaction. The absence of a vocal opposition from the Obama administration is compounded by its cessation of calls for the dissolution of Assad’s murderous regime.
