1. Discussion of new movie about the islamic terror attack on the US embassy in Libya and how it will present Hillary Clinton. (Includes trailer)

2. Bizarre ‘anti-ISIS’ operating zone planned on Syrian border has U.S. military stumped

(OK here is a guess. The US now has permission to fly fake missions against the Islamic State where pretty much nothing is done and most missions return to base after using all the fuel and not firing the payload, in exchange for which, the Turks now have a green light to go after Kurdish targets in the region which are the only real threat to the Turkish state, and extra points if they kill Canadian, American and Israelis who are over there fighting with the Kurds. I wonder if that would help make sense of it as that deal, if it exists, would be similar enough in style to the Iranian one that it seems quite likely.)

The U.S. has for months been seeking permission to use Turkey’s Incirlik air base in the campaign against Islamic State.  Incirlik is a Cold War-era base from which U.S. air forces have operated for years.  But Turkey has been selective about its use in the post-1991 period (prohibiting American use, notoriously, for the 2003 invasion of Iraq).

After the terrorist attack on the border town of Suruc, Turkey on 20 July – linked to Islamic State – Obama and Erdogan reportedly agreed in a phone call to bring Turkey into the campaign against ISIS, and begin operating American military aircraft in that fight from Turkish bases.

But what the character of that partnership will be remains a mystery.  It’s not just a mystery to the public.  The U.S. military doesn’t understand it either.

3. Calais’ thin blue line: Helpless French police are over-run as hundreds more migrants storm Channel Tunnel declaring ‘it’s England or death’ – so when will Cameron finally take action?

(So the trick to successfully invading England, is to simply not carry weapons till you get inside)

4. Refugees from war-torn Syria claim racism in Germany is so extreme they want to GO HOME as growing unrest and anti-Muslim feeling sees attacks on foreigners soar

(I’ll believe that when I see rickety boats full of muslim re-refugees pushing off the coast of Italy or Greece looking for a better life in North Africa or the muslim middle east. The guy who gets that picture should make room on the mantle for a Pulitzer)

Refugees from war-torn Syria claim racism in Germany has become so extreme they want to go home as a growing anti-Muslim movement sees soaring attacks on foreigners.

The nation has been gripped by a spate of anti-foreigners rallies, violence and arson attacks against refugee homes or would-be shelters as hundreds of thousands seek refuge in the country.

This year has already seen about 200 arson and other attacks against refugee housing while support for anti-Muslim movement, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA), has been growing.

5. Mumbai bomber Yakub Memon hanged after long battle for mercy

(The story linked above is another example of the problem of treating a military problem with a criminal justice solution. You give advantage to an enemy to a degree that will eventually mean a loss. Even Amnesty International condemned this action. They could not have had it been a military solution)

CNN)The man considered to be the mastermind behind coordinated bomb attacks in Mumbai in 1993 that left 257 people dead has been executed.

Yakub Memon was hanged at a prison in the western state of Maharashtra at around 6.30 a.m. local time, Indian Home Ministry spokesman Kuldeep Dhatwalia told CNN Thursday.

In the hours before the execution was carried out, a group of prominent lawyers contacted India’s chief justice to seek a postponement of Memon’s hanging for two weeks — the last in a long succession of appeals for mercy.

In an unprecedented move, the Supreme Court held a special early-morning session to discuss the request before rejecting it, Dhatwalia said.

6. Ezra Levant: Clinton’s reaction to the Planned Parenthood videos, (which have now been banned?) Ezra gives a solid warning about sections of this video. He doesn’t say where to stop watching and pick it up again though. But it does have graphic content starting at 2:35 and Ezra starts discussing it again at 3:23

7. Mr. Levant discusses the Iranian side deals and Sec. Kerry’s lack of understanding of them.

8. Turkish opposition accuses government of IS complacency

(Using the language of diplomacy)

9. France: High police presence as undocumented migrants gather at Channel Tunnel

Thank you Buck, M., Richard, Wrath of Khan, Julie, and everyone who sent in materials. There is much more in the comments on the Daily Links post.

In that barometer sense of the value of comments, have a look at what is said under the video of British muslims threatening Geert Wilders et al. For those who have been at this a while, remember how comments looked 10 years ago under similar videos or anything to do with Islamic horror perpetrated upon the unbeliever. Clearly there is a sea change and clearly the public has educated itself in large, perhaps unprecedented numbers. This is as it has to be. Institutions of state have been co-opted by the extreme left and islam and its becoming obvious. While the resources to find the facts still exist, and while some old-school teachers and professors still work who remember teaching when truth was allowed  the signal is getting out. And as the population begins to be tuned to a visceral reality we can all see out the windows of major cities, institutions of state will be left with a simple choice. Lose their franchise, or act in accordance with the public interest, or become totalitarian too fast to get the armed branches sufficiently on board.

Chances are we will see what government chooses which option more sooner than later. For the moment the problem is the general public being placated by bribery with its own money. An ancient problem of democracy, but sooner or later that runs out like it did in Venezuela. Keeping an eye on that nation may yield some insight into the future of many nations.

You are right, the events are moving towards a breaking point, while it is hard to predict just when or what will occur that starts the trouble the economic mess is a real good starting point, you have the 5 European nations that are in massive trouble. Then we have China is enough trouble that the communist government can’t cover up the problems, add in how Obama has spent the US into bankruptcy and how Western Europe isn’t far behind and you have a recipe for a major disaster. Once the economy collapses we will see more protests against immigrants that are 1) taking jobs from the native born and 2) increasing taxes and decreasing welfare benefits as the governments attempt to pay the bribes to the voters to keep them in power.

Eeyore also said “….Lose their franchise, or act in accordance with the public interest, or become totalitarian too fast to get the armed branches sufficiently on board.” We will see varying degrees of all of the three possible reactions by the governments the stronger the Socialist are the greater the possible that they will resort ot military force. I have a good idea of how the majority of the troops still serving will react to orders to oppress the public and I know for a fact that the local police will tell them to use the National Guard to enforce their illegal orders. The trouble there is that the National Guard are our neighbors so they not obey the orders. I expect that the vast majority of the police and Guard in the US will react the same way. I don’t know how the police and the military will react in the other nations. I do know that when the shooting starts it won’t stop for a real long time, the shortest time we can expect will be the rest of this century anId it may last longer. If my prediction of the war lasting to the end of the century or longer civilization will fall and the survivors will live in a Dark Age that is quite brutal but technology advanced and one where the tech will advance at a scary rate.

  2. #5 – “The man considered to be the mastermind behind coordinated bomb attacks in Mumbai in 1993 that left 257 people dead has been executed.”

Isn’t this date wrong? The Mumbai attack I know of took place just a few years ago, not 22 years ago.

    • The 1993 Bombay bombings were a series of 13 bomb explosions that took place in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on Friday, 12 March 1993.[3] The coordinated attacks were the most destructive bomb explosions in Indian history. [4]This was first of its kind serial-bomb-blasts across world. The single-day attacks resulted in over 350 fatalities and 1200 injuries

  3. #6- I have to assume that the org that released these videos have consulted with competent legal advice and that releasing these videos is legal.
I know that the first video was released in its unedited version very shortly after the 8 min edited version. I’m not sure about the other 3 to date.
What I find interesting is that this is right out of the Andrew Breitbart play book. Drip, drip, drip. Until it is impossible for the media and the gov’t to turn away.

#7- It seems at this point that only two scenarios are possible. Either Iran gets the bomb and we all live with it or Israel in conjunction with KSA bomb the shit out of Iran. I don’t see any third way especially now that the UN Security Council has put its blessing on the deal.

    • Your comments about no. 6 are right, and they are the timing is right, the appeals of the hearing judgement (if it goes against them and since it was a Calif court the hearing should go against them) will keep the whole issue before the voters through out the primary and possibly the general election. This campaign was set up by someone who knows what they are doing and is worried about the survival of freedom if the cultural war is lost.
