Attacks on Egyptian navy, warning to British and world citizens, US planes mass attacked with lasers and more: Links 2 on July 16 – 2015

There are rumors floating around that the Islamic State has called on sleepers in the UK to begin attacks on British citizens. I have no links for this or any way to confirm it. Frankly, this notice straddles the border of irresponsible. However if the source is good and one doesn’t post it, it would seem to be equally irresponsible. Those in the UK may want to simply take reasonable precautions till its confirmed or not, which means extra situational awareness and perhaps route and shopping planning to avoid certain areas of concentrated jihadis.

1. 11 Planes Struck by Lasers Approaching Newark Airport

Eleven commercial flights reported lasers illuminated their aircraft Wednesday night as they flew over New Jersey between the hours of 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Several of the incidents were reported approximately 15 to 20 miles southwest of Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, and the planes were bound for that airport, as well as LaGuardia Airport in New York City and Pittsburgh, officials said.

“Just for your information, there’s someone shooting a laser about four or five miles back off our back wing,” one pilot told the Newark airport control tower.

“That just happened again?” the tower responded.

“Yes, about four to five miles back,” the pilot answered. “They lit us up pretty well.”

(There is a video at the site which details this clear terrorist attempt quite well and the video after it talks about a near miss with a drone the same day. Normally I would write that off as an idiot hobbyist but its a big coincidence that it happened same time and place  as the laser strikes)

2. France terror suspects plotted to behead military staffer, prosecutor’s office says

(CNN)Four terror suspects detained by French intelligence agents were plotting to behead a senior military staffer at a military site in southern France, a spokeswoman for the Paris prosecutor’s office said Thursday.

The alleged plot centered on the national commando training center in Port-Vendres, near Perpignan, said Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre, and was due to be carried out in late 2015 or early 2016.

The suspects planned to film the scene with a GoPro camera, she said.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Wednesday that the suspects, ages 16 to 23, were arrested in four parts of France at dawn Monday on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack against “military installations.”

3. Officials: ‘Inadequate’ Government Efforts to Prevent US Terrorist Radicalization

(If someone were to point form list Obama’s actions when it comes to islamic terror, it would read like the case for the prosecution of an arch villain in a comic book. Just his impediments to fighting the Islamic State alone and his complicity with its atrocities are more than most are ready to allow themselves to believe despite the demonstrably factual nature of the events)

The Obama administration’s approach to combating terrorist radicalization inside the U.S. has been “inadequate” while ISIS has found extraordinary success at inspiring many to commit violence, current and former officials said at a congressional hearing today.

So far this year, the FBI has arrested 48 suspects in the U.S. accused of attempting to support ISIS or act violently in the name of the Islamist extremist group – and yet in all of the U.S. government, only half that number of U.S. officials are devoted to Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programs, according to Rep. Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

“In the high-threat environment we are in today, this is unacceptable,” McCaul said.

5. On ‘refugees’ to Europe:

Tourist about boat “refugees”: “The young men we saw every day, was well-dressed, spoke in iPhones, was well-fed … ONLY men”

“There were no women and girls among the refugees. They are apparently left at home. It made me think about whether we are helping the right people. Those who escaped did not seem to need help. They had all equipment. Phones and everything. It was not shabby people who had almost drowned. It made me feel a fool,” said Henriette Larsen.

“If you flee, then you flee as family. If it families that fled, then I would also have wanted to help. But they let the women and children behind at home

6. Danish soldiers threatened near Muslim ghetto, patroling beduin photografed near planned veteran home

Photo above: this Muslim beduin in military uniform was photografed 300 meters from the new home for military veterans)

There is something rotten in the state of Denmark, when returning soldiers has to live in fear from the enemy in their own country. In fact, it ought to be the opposite. In this case a fund wants to build a home for veterans a few houndred meters from the Muslim ghetto Gellerup and the infamous Grimhøj Mosque, where soldiers – including the National Guard – have been threatened.

7. Egyptian navy vessel on fire after gunfight

Daily Mail article on this attack

The Egyptian military says one of their navy vessels caught fire off the coast of Sinai on Thursday after an exchange of gunshots with militants from the shore. (July 16)

(One comment at Youtube says there are two boats on fire and a third one is about to start. Thank you very much Obama)

8. Mass Terror Attack on US University Thwarted by FBI

Alexander Ciccolo, a convert to Islam, planned an attack that included ‘executions of students, which would be broadcast live via the internet.’

A large-scale terror attack was most likely thwarted with the arrest of a 23-year-old supporter of the Islamic State from Massachusetts who bought pistols and rifles from a confidential FBI informant earlier this month.

Alexander Ciccolo, a convert to Islam, had planned an attack at a state university. The plan was centered around college dorms and cafeterias and included “executions of students, which would be broadcast live via the internet.”

A search of Ciccolo’s apartment revealed bomb-making equipment, including chemicals and a pressure cooker, “attack planning papers” and other papers relating to “jihad.”

Thank you Gates of Vienna, Wrath of Khan, Richard, M., DP111, Nicolai Sennels, and many more. Its clearly going to be a very busy day. The warning posted at the top looks like it very well may have been some kind of global call to arms based on the material that is flowing in steadily so far today. As its the last week of Ramadan, the annual muslim festival of binging and bombing, which I believe carries an added incentive to do jihad, it well could be.

  1. To me, drones are a major, major threat. They can carry a payload of explosives of several pounds, can be set up within setups near a target, and attack that target within a minute. They are just impossible to stop. Ram a drone into a plane taking off or landing, slam into a highrise with explosive fuel payload. Limitless ways to create havoc and death with drones and deadly payloads. Clearly, the jihadis are already thinking about this, just a matter of time.

    • I suspect that jamming Hz. that hobby drones work on near airports up to 5000 ft. will likely be implemented if it isnt already. Also I think that drones without explosives likely will do no damage unless it hits a very vulnerable part of the aircraft. But overall your comment and concerns are valid. Certainly in terms of hitting soft targets. In fact there was a plot to get the pope when he visited the US many years ago that involved explosives on a remote control car, some of which go 100 MPH in fact if memory serves.

    • I think that many if not most of the drones that are flying near airports are controlled by jihadists who are making trial runs before they try to bring down several airplanes on the same day all across the nation.

  2. RE; # 5 ‘Well dressed with cell phones and men only, pardon my questioning but these ‘refugees’ have all of the characteristics of jihadis sleeper agents, or a developing ‘fifth column’.

    • But I do believe, Big Frank, that we go further than all the crazy Euros with their replacement populations.

We elected one of them as POTUS. Twice.
[Not my choice, but I since didn’t expatriate myself in protest, I’ve gotta take some responsibility.]

      • “…since didn’t expatriate myself in protest, I’ve gotta take some responsibility.”

No yucki, STAYING was/is taking responsibility! Dont vacate the field completely for the bastards!

      • You are right we have gone way further then the Europeans, and you are right that even those like you and me who didn’t vote for Obama bear some responsibility. And you are very right that we can’t run from the problem, we have to stand and fight.

  3. 8/ His father notified authorities about a year and a half ago.

But read the details now. The family must be utterly devastated. I mean – a pressure-cooker? – and his dad was on the front at the Marathon Bombing?

It’s like taking a axe and planting it in your parents’ hearts.
