Police said the judges were travelling in a car in the city of al-Arish, Sinai, when it was attacked by suspected Islamist gunmen.

Also a Taiwanese national was kind enough to scour the local news for us on the explosion yesterday. At the moment, all official sources say it was an accident:
That explosion was reported to be an accident caused by high heat on the stage, with some dust and powder. There were many people there, the investigators suspected that someone was smoking. Many little things contributed to the explosion. You never know, sometimes something more may come up later, usually corruption of construction company or someone paying off someone with big amount of money. That would be a cliched Chinese/Japanese drama material.
