The war on all non-muslims accelerates and sharia grows as a motive for action in the West: Links 1 on April 3 – 2015

2. Stabbing attack while reciting koran verses in UK

Gulam Chowdhury, 24, was today sentenced to 28 years in prison after he murdered Mohammed Yasser Afzal in a frenzied knife attack at his workplace in Stratford, east London.

Having converted to a strict form of Islam while held in an immigration detention centre, Chowdhury regularly quoted the Koran  in his messages to Ms Riaz, who worked at Primark in Hackney.

He told her: ‘I’m going to sort this out and sort it proper, I will use the flame from my ancestors to burn the world of this scum.’

He also wrote in another message that his ancestors were ‘fearless lions that would kill for honour’.

Chowdhury claimed killing was justified by Islam and included a passage from the Koran which said: ‘Cut the neck of the man who eyed up his wife’.

In another text he wrote: ‘I need to kill someone’. 

Chowdhury told Ms Riaz, a second year law student at City University, the attack was justified in Islam claiming: ‘Cut the neck of the man who eyed up his wife.’

(and this is how a place gets sharia. Not an act of legislation but a large group of people who decide to live by it)

3. Report: Muslim Brotherhood plotted to kill Morsi in order to spark revolution

Egyptian authorities have uncovered a Muslim Brotherhood plot to assassinate the imprisoned former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi in order to spark an Islamist revolution in the country which would overthrow the current regime, Jordanian daily Alarab Alyawm quoted an Egyptian security source as saying Sunday.

Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood member himself, was ousted by the Egyptian army in 2013 following mass protests against his rule. Morsi and 12 other Muslim Brotherhood members were convicted last month of violence, kidnapping and torture over the deaths of protesters in 2012. Morsi was sentenced to 20 years in jail. […] Possible methods the Brotherhood considered employing in order to kill the imprisoned Morsi included shooting down the helicopter that led him to court discussions or poisoning his food, according to the report.

(I wonder if the Brotherhood was planning to use a US supplied SAM)

4. Yemen: Saudi-Led Airstrikes Used Cluster Munitions

Cluster munitions contain dozens or hundreds of submunitions. The submunitions are designed to explode after spreading out over a wide area, often the size of a football field, putting anyone in the area at the time of the attack at risk of death or injury. In addition, many submunitions often do not explode, becoming de facto landmines.

7. ISIS Open First Five-star Hotel for Fighters in Iraq

According to the Daily Star, the hotel apparently does not cater to booze, dancing, music, smoking or gambling, and women must dress head-to-toe in black including gloves.

The Ninawa Hotel’s 262 rooms have been reserved for visiting commanders but it will be opened for weddings so that jihadi brides can marry fighters.
