3. Syria’s Revitalized Rebels Make Big Gains in Assad’s Heartland

Backed by Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, the Islamist Army of Conquest is putting the hurt on the Syrian regime.

The Syrian rebels are on a roll. Over the past four months, anti-government forces have made sweeping gains that may redraw the conflict map and shake President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The gains have come on both the war’s northern and southern fronts. On Dec. 15, the rebels took Wadi al-Dhaif, one of the country’s largest military encampments in the north. On Mar. 28, the regime lost the northern city of Idlib, only the second provincial capital to fall to the rebels. The gains continued last week, as rebel forces took the key town of Jisr al-Shugour, southeast of Idlib city, and then pushed further south to capture several villages in Hama province’s al-Ghab plain. On Monday, they seized the “Brick Factory,” one of the last remaining regime strongholds in Idlib province.

(While I try and avoid matters of US internal politics that are not on point for this website, I occasionally cannot resist a story that lets me use videos like this)

6. Kansas fraternity expels 4 members for mocking Muslims

A fraternity at the University of Kansas has kicked out four members who admitted involvement in a video posted on social media that mocks Muslims.

Zeta Beta Tau chapter president Jason Finkelstein said Wednesday that the traditionally Jewish fraternity learned of the video April 10 and expelled the members the next day. He said it appears the clip was posted April 9 via the app Yeti.

In a written statement first released over the weekend to the Lawrence school’s student newspaper, the University Daily Kansan, and released Wednesday to The Associated Press, the fraternity said it takes a “strong stance against bigotry and intolerance in all forms.”

(I don’t get how this mocks islam. This video mocks islam)

And this one…

Thank you M., Richard, Wrath of Khan,

And since I have already run over my own rule in a humvee on US internal politics and avoiding it, people may find this clip highly entertaining

    • Blobfish Mohammed should be a regular go-to guy for network news, the first expert they consult on Islamic issues.

  1. 6. Standard Operating Procedure of nearly all universities in the West these days. The stifling of freedom of speech is taking on fascist strains here, what with the immediate expulsion of those who dare step out of the accepted party line. Things like this make me loathe being part of the “Millennial Generation”. My contemporaries are all a bunch of sheep who are happily playing right into Islam’s hands.

    Repulsive.

  2. 2/ None of these problems is impossible to solve if the starting point is a clear-eyed look at Islam.

    • Really, this is theater. Everyone knows that Muslims are trouble. So by importing hundreds of thousands of them they can stage these elaborate shows for their captive audience, the taxpayers for whom purchase of season tickets is obligatory, and never mind that there is only one play in the line-up. It’s the same script, the same show every night, the same costumes, the scenery is modified now and then and the actors change over the years but it is no mystery to anyone whodunnit. It will have as long a run as The Mousetrap.
