  2. “Alhamdulillah!” What Students Are Thankful For At Brooklyn College

from Pamela Geller’s talk at ‘the Brooklyn Zoo’ April 22

    • Never underestimate the folly of a college sophomore.

So goes the expression, but I’m not so sure about the rest.
The other classic of seasoned physicians, “They’ll never know more than they think they know as juniors in medical school.”

      • They’re supposed to grow up and grow out of it, but so many of their professors now are every bit as sophomoric.

        • Better a certificate of competence from a trade school. Think of the debt and sheer waste of resources. Professors who aren’t scholars, graduate students inciting a new generation for the brave new world. Yes we can.

And people are asking each other, “Where’s it safe to send a Jewish kid to college?” That immediately prompts, “Are universities healthy environments for any impressionable young adult?”

          • What a disgrace for North America that Jewish parents should now have to ask themselves that.

And where are the parents of the young brownshirts in these videos, for that matter? They could get on youtube and see what they’re paying for.

            • The parents are like a man I was just talking to, he refuses to admit that Bill and Hillary are part of the far left, he keeps saying that they are moderate and don’t support what Obama is doing.

  3. first elected Muslim mayor found guilty of corrupt and illegal practices over

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11557662/Tower-Hamlets-mayor-Lutfur-Rahman-guilty.htmlThe election of controversial Tower Hamlets mayor has been declared void after he was found guilty of corruption and illegal practices by an Election Court judge.
Lutfur Rahman played “race” and “religious” cards and was guilty of “corrupt practice”, Election Commissioner Richard Mawrey, who sat as a judge in the High Court, said.
He described an “alarming state of affairs in Tower Hamlets” driven by the “ruthless ambition of one man”.
Mr Mawrey said Rahman had “driven a coach and horses” through local authority law and had been an “evasive winess”..
The May 2014 mayoral election will now be re-run and Rahman is barred from standing, the judge said.
Rahman, Britain’s first elected Muslim mayor, was also ordered to pay £250,000 costs.
The legal challenge to his election had been brought by four voters and lawyers for the group made a series of allegations, including “personation” in postal voting and at polling stations, and ballot paper tampering.

An Election Commissioner concluded Tower Hamlets mayor Lutfur Rahman breached election rules and must vacate his post immediately.

Four voters alleged he used “corrupt and illegal practices” in last year’s election, which must now be re-run.

Mr Rahman, who denied any wrong-doing, has been banned from standing again.

At the special High Court hearing, Election Commissioner Richard Mawrey also ordered Mr Rahman to pay £250,000 in costs.

One of Mr Rahman’s aides Alibor Choudhury was also found guilty of corrupt and illegal practices.

Tower Hamlets First, Mr Rahman’s party, said the judgement was a “shock” and it was seeking further legal advice in relation to a judicial review….”

    • What’s wrong with this picture?

“It is a cruel and bitter truth that in the fog of war generally and our fight against terrorists specifically, mistakes– sometimes deadly mistakes– can occur,” Obama said. “But one of the things that sets America apart from many other nations, one of the things that makes us exceptional, is our willingness to confront squarely our imperfections and to learn from our mistakes.”

    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/04/23/politics/white-house-hostages-killed/index.html

“President Barack Obama announced Thursday that a U.S. counterterrorism operation targeting an al Qaeda compound in January accidentally killed two innocent hostages, including one American.

Multiple U.S. officials told CNN the hostages, Warren Weinstein, an American, and Italian national Giovanni Lo Porto, were killed by a U.S. military drone that targeted the al Qaeda compound.

“As president and as Commander-in-chief, I take full responsibility for all our counterterrorism operations including the one that inadvertently took the lives of Warren and Giovanni,” Obama said Thursday morning in the White House briefing room, where he apologized on behalf of the U.S. government.

The White House also disclosed Thursday that two Americans, both al Qaeda operatives, were also killed in U.S. counterterrorism operations in the same region.

Al Qaeda leader Ahmed Farouq, who was an American citizen and deputy emir of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent, was also killed in the operation that killed the two innocent hostages.

Adam Gadahn, another American in the senior ranks of al Qaeda, was also killed by U.S. forces in the region, “likely in a separate” counterterrorism operation, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement Thursday….”

  5. Yemeni Rebels Defy Saudi-Led Strikes to Press Offensive (abcnews, Apr 23, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/pakistan-leaders-saudi-arabia-press-yemen-negotiations-30520170

” Yemen’s Shiite rebels pressed their offensive in the country’s south on Thursday as a Saudi-led coalition bombarded them from the air in at least six cities, less than two days after announcing the end of a monthlong campaign against the Iran-supported militants.

Riyadh had said Tuesday that it was entering a new phase in its campaign against the Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, who captured Yemen’s capital last year. The air campaign is aimed at rolling back the rebels and restoring embattled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, a close U.S. ally who fled to Saudi Arabia last month.

The coalition’s spokesman said operation “Decisive Storm” was ending and announced the start of a new phase called “Renewal of Hope,” which would focus on diplomacy, humanitarian aid and counterterrorism.

But hours after the announcement, new airstrikes hit the rebels and their allies — suggesting the U.S.-backed offensive was being scaled back but not completely halted….”

  7. British man accused of wanting to travel to Syria has passport seized in raid

A British Muslim says he has been “left stateless” after police seized his passport over claims he wanted to travel to Syria.

The man, who has been asked to be known as Abu Haleema, was woken yesterday morning by anti-terror police raiding his London home.

The officers told the man they were searching for “articles relating to terrorism” and seized his passport.

He was not arrested but was left with a letter from the Home Office detailing their suspicions.

Mr Haleema told ITV News: “They believe I’m involved in terrorism-related activity, which is not true, and that I may have been thinking of going to Syria to fight, which is completely not true.”

He described the raid as “a war against Islam” and authorities were “trying to create a climate of fear in the community”.

    • Every Egyptian woman I’ve ever talked to confirms that. A Coptic woman told me recently she never goes out of her house when she’s back, finds being in the Gulf a relief. Egypt is bad even by Muslim standards.

      • It and the entire middle east is going to get worse in the near future, we can expect military action between Iran and Saudi with the Egyptian government siding with Saudi. Since there is a large Shiite population in Egypt we can expect terror attacks possibly growing into a full fledged civil war.

  8. UK -Blackburn boy, 14, charged over Australia terrorism ‘plot’

A 14-year-old British boy from Blackburn has been charged by UK prosecutors with two counts of inciting terrorism in Australia.

The boy is accused of inciting another person to carry out an attack at an Anzac Day event with the aim of killing or seriously injuring people.

He is also accused of inciting another person to behead someone in Australia.

Anzac Day is commemorated on 25 April in memory of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died during World War One.

The boy, who has not been named for legal reasons, is believed to be the youngest person to be charged with terrorism offences in the UK to date, according to BBC home affairs correspondent Daniel Sandford.

He was charged after officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit and Lancashire Constabulary executed a search of an address in Blackburn on 2 April.

Officers had examined a number of electronic devices, and had uncovered communication between a teenager in Blackburn and a man in Australia, said a statement from Greater Manchester Police.

Information was subsequently passed to Australian authorities.

The boy will be appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

  9. Islam finds a place in Germany’s classrooms

Germany is beginning to grant Muslims the sort of entitlements given to Christians and Jews, including having their religion taught in schools and universities – something that could be key for fighting radical Islam.

[…]“There is an openness toward religions, not only religions as having their own merits, but as contributing to the well-being of society,” says Mathias Rohe, head of the Center for Islam and the Law in Europe at the University of Erlangen.

[…]A €20 million government initiative led to the creation of today’s four Islam theology centers at some of Germany’s most respected public universities, making Germany ahead of most Western countries in incorporating Islam as an academic discipline, experts say.

[…]It was Wolfgang Schaüble, while interior minister in Angela Merkel’s administration, who first called for Islam to be taught in schools after declaring publicly for the first time that “Islam is part of Germany” in 2005.

[…]Most of the imams at Germany’s roughly 2,800 mosques are imported from Turkey.

  10. ‘Certain variables’ may cause Benghazi probe to last into 2016, Gowdy says

The chairman of the House select committee probing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s response to the Benghazi terror attacks signaled Wednesday that the release of a final report could slip to just months before the 2016 presidential election if the Obama administration delays producing documents and witnesses.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the Benghazi panel, denied Wednesday that the potential delay of the report was politically motivated.

“That assumes the report would be critical of [Clinton] and I don’t make that assumption because we’re still in the process of gathering facts,” he told Fox News’ “On The Record.” “If the report is not critical of her, then she would probably want it to come out closer to the election but it’s not going to come out in the middle of 2016.”

However, Hillary for America Campaign Chairman John Podesta thought otherwise. Podesta said in a statement Wednesday the delay was “solely about playing politics.”

“This action is the latest example in a broad concerted effort by Republicans and their allies to launch false attacks against Hillary Clinton’s record and deep experience on foreign affairs and national security,” the statement read.

“Sadly, Republicans are determined to continue to exploit this tragedy in an effort to try and hurt her campaign,” Podesta said in the statement.

    • Hillary Clinton Obliterates The Latest Republican Benghazi Stunt With A Single Letter

In a letter, former Sec. Clinton’s attorney David Kendall took all the air out the Republican hopes to drag the Benghazi Committee into the 2016 election, and destroyed their latest conspiracy before it got going.

Kendall wrote to Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-OK) that Clinton wants to testify before the committee without delay:

In November, I informed your staff of Secretary Clinton’s willingness to testify before the Select Committee on Benghazi. In the succeeding months, she has reiterated her willingness, and I do so again on her behalf. There is no reason to delay her appearance, or have her testify in a private interview.

      ….

While Secretary Clinton has testified before committees in both the House and the Senate about the tragic events in Benghazi, she has made clear that she will voluntarily testify publicly again before the Select Committee and, at that time, is happy to continue to answer any questions the Select Committee may have about her email use.

  11. TURKEY – The Üsküdar municipality in the Asian side of Istanbul inaugurated the “Village of the Age of Happiness” on April 19

A district mayor in Istanbul from Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has raised some eyebrows by constructing the replicas of Islam’s holiest places and objects, yet the building idea seems to have spread elsewhere.

The Age of Happiness is an Islamic term that refers to the time of Prophet Mohammad, whose birthday according to the Western calendar is currently been celebrated with public events…

    • Looks like fun!

Would be a hit if there were casinos and merry-go-rounds with model camels and donkeys. Cotton-candy served in upside-down fez-shaped containers. Animal-crackers with tiny Crusaders.

  12. I simply do not understand.
The Classic Blood Libel Against Jews Goes Mainstream in Iran

A recent article on a high-profile political website shows how even the most primitive anti-Semitic slurs and conspiracy theories have found their way into all levels of Iranian discourse.

On April 18, the prominent Iranian website Alef published an article whose title roughly translates to “Who Are Human History’s Most Bloodthirsty People?” The long, detailed essay, complete with footnotes, pictures, and video clips, accuses Jews of killing non-Jews to use their blood for ritual purposes.

    http://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/view/the-classic-blood-libel-against-jews-goes-mainstream-in-iran

    • The above article above is extremely important.

There’s antisemitism and judenhaas or “Jew-hatred”.

[I prefer the German term, just…because…
…A mob will knock a small girl to the ground, then pull her clothes off to see if she has the cloven hoof of the Devil. They’ve been told she’s a real Jew, so they’re naturally curious.]

Anti-Semites use that raw hate to justify…whatever.

      • And the way the left has destroyed the modern educational system it is easier to get. The lack of education and the growing demagoguery about Jews and Conservatives are two of the reasons I think a new Dark Age is possible.

          • Assuming medical science doesn’t advance to the point where the eyes can be fixed, just because it will be a dark age doesn’t mean there won’t be technological advances. There were a lot in the last dark age.

          • The older I get the more I admire the old Science Fiction authors, I always thought they stuck the loss of civilization in to make it easy to have a hero in an adventure. Now I am seeing their predictions come true at a time when civilization is in danger. Either they were very prescient or God has a sense of humor, or both.

  13. Turkey: activist dead in attack on ruling party AKP’s office

Unidentified, armed individuals attacked an electoral office on Thursday afternoon of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the southeastern province of Batman, reported the website of the Hurriyet daily.

The one person killed in the attack was activist Abit Nasiroglu, the son of a former MP from the party, Nezir Nasiroglu, reported the Zaman website. The reason for the shooting is unclear. AKP candidate for the June elections, Adile Gurbuz, was also present at the time of the attack. The provincial head of the AKP, Diyaeddin Ucar, claimed the attack was not politically motivated and was instead a dispute over money. On April 20, shots were fired in Istanbul at the offices of the nationalist party MHP and on April 18 in Ankara at a branch of the pro-Kurdish HDP party. On April 1, an armed man had briefly occupied a branch office of the AKP in Istanbul.

An unidentified assailant attacked the election bureau of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the southeastern province of Batman on April 23, killing the son of a former AKP deputy and injuring another.

The assailant came to the election bureau at noon and reportedly fired four or five gunshots before being caught by the police while fleeing the scene.

Abit Nas?ro?lu, the son of former AKP deputy Nezir Nas?ro?lu, died in the attack while the injured person was hospitalized.

The provincial head of the AKP, Diyaeddin Uçar, claimed the attack was not politically motivated and rather it was a dispute over money.

In addition, AKP deputy candidate from Batman Adile Gürbüz, who was present at the time of the attack, said they did not know why the attack happened.

Ahead of the upcoming June 7 elections, a number of election bureaus have been attacked across the country.

Recently, the headquarters of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Ankara was attacked on April 18, followed by a separate attack on the election bureau of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in Istanbul’s Sar?yer district on April 20.

  15. Direct from Elder Of Ziyon!
Video that Arabs claim show Jews provoking them in the Jewish Quarter
    Jordan’s Dostor news site writes:
Israeli Channel 7 published video of provocations practiced by Jewish settlers against Palestinians during the celebrations over 67 years of occupation of the Palestinian territories.
The video shows some girls shouting “Allahu Akbar” several times in front of a gathering of a number of settlers in the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem. The settlers attempted a provocation in the Palestinian city by raising the Israeli flag.

Arutz 7 sees it a little differently:
As part of Thursday’s Independence Day celebrations, a group of yeshiva students toured the Jewish Quarter of the Old City in Jerusalem, carrying Israeli flags.

As they walked down the streets, they encountered an outspoken group of Muslim women who tried to incite a confrontation, yelling at them in Arabic.

The boys, though, maintained their equanimity, and instead of hurling epithets back at the women, broke into a rousing chorus of “Am Yisrael Chai” (the Nation of Israel Lives”).

    You can decide for yourself.
