2. New O’Keefe Video: Cornell Dean Advises on Starting ISIS Club

(Everyone is talking about and tweeting about this video. Its interesting for sure. But I wish there was a contrast. Like if he had asked about bringing in a Zionist group to speak or the JDL or something)

3. Yemen crisis: President Hadi flees as Houthi rebels advance

Gunfire could be heard around the city centre, and security forces allied to the Houthis are reported to have taken over the international airport.

On Wednesday morning, the rebels moved to within 60km (37 miles) of Aden after seizing the country’s largest air base.

4. Hillel cancels talk by controversial aboriginal Zionist

MONTREAL  — Hillel Montreal is defending as a “principled stance” its late-hour decision to cancel a talk by assertive pro-Israel activist Ryan Bellerose of Calgary, which had been scheduled to take place at Concordia University on March 16.

Bellerose, who is also an activist for aboriginal rights, thinks the event was scrapped because some Israel advocacy groups, including the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and “progressive Zionist” students, do not like his “in your face” approach to defending Israel.

“I’m not a very PC guy,” said Bellerose, who did receive a platform to speak two days later at a private event organized by the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research (CIJR).

Hillel contends the reason was that Bellerose’s recent tweets, mostly to Hamas’ new Twitter account, and his response to those tweets on other social media, were not acceptable discourse.

(I look forward to the comments on this one)

6. MONTREAL—Islam needs to change or it needs to leave.

(The Star does anti-PEGIDA propaganda piece)

That’s the message from one of the leaders who has brought to Canada a controversial European movement that unites political conservatives, anti-immigration activists and neo-Nazis with the goal of beating back a perceived rising tide of Islamic fundamentalism.

Jean-François Asgard is one of five people to have launched PEGIDA Québec earlier this year, the latest branch of a global anti-Islam movement that was created last fall in the German town of Dresden.

PEGIDA (the name is a German acronym for Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West) was founded by a convicted burglar-turned-graphic designer who planned a protest against the opening of 14 refugee centres in his city. It has risen rapidly, gathering more than 20,000 people at its peak and provoking warnings and denunciations from German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

10. BREAKING: U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl to be charged with desertion: Washington Post, citing Bergdahl’s lawyer

(I think this will be a pizza and beer night after all! Here is a little Obama admin flashback on this story)

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, faces charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, according to his lawyer.

Eugene Fidell, Bergdahl’s attorney, told The Washington Post that his client was handed a charge sheet on Tuesday. Army officials announced they will provide an update in his case at 3:30 p.m. at Fort Bragg, N.C., but declined to discuss new developments ahead of the news conference.

Thank you CB Sashenka, Wrath of Khan, M., Richard, Yucki and all. More to come.

  1. Though not the comparison you hoped for, here is a case to juxtapose against the the latest Project Veritas episode at Cornell:

MINNESOTA: SOMALI MUSLIMS SWARM SCHOOL, FORCE LOCKDOWN AFTER SOMALI POSTS ISIS-SUPPORTIVE PICTURE
The lockdown involved more than one school as this video report reveals this is not the typical/traditional American high school situation
The ruckus appears to be fallout from a snapchat which was uploaded to Facebook for mass exposure.
Parents of Tech student: Let our son apologize for post

He thought it would be funny, the student later told his mother.
Without much thought, a high school senior made a Snapchat post about a fellow student at Technical High School.
But far from amusing anyone, the post fanned ethnic tensions that brought the high school to a halt last week.
A St. Cloud couple contacted the Times on Tuesday, identifying themselves as parents of the student who made the post.
Darren and Rikki Klontz fear their son, 17, who’s currently suspended from Tech, could be expelled for what they describe as a one-time mistake for which he’s trying to atone.
The Klontzes say St. Cloud school district officials won’t share what they have in store for their son’s future. They said they visited Tech Wednesday morning to confront administrators and demand answers for their son.
Instead, Rikki Klontz said she and her son were escorted out of the school by a security officer.
The Klontzes emphasize that they don’t defend their son’s actions.

School board chair decries post linked to Tech protest

St. Cloud school board chairman Dennis Whipple has condemned a social media post linked to a student protest that roiled Technical High School last week.

Student protesters said last week that they were responding in part to what they described as an offensive Snapchat post by a Tech student that later made its way to Facebook. It pictured a Somali Tech student in a wheelchair with a caption implying she was affiliated with the Islamic State terrorist organization.
Whipple said he’s still shocked by the post, which he described as “not permissible.”
“There isn’t a place in today’s society for that,” Whipple said.

BTW, comments at the second St. Cloud link reveal a couple more details. The snapchat was uploaded to Facebook, yes. Response to the facebook post resulted in physical threats to the boy involved in the snapchat…

    Commenter at SCTimes-

Robert Ahles And there should be zero tolerance for violent threats of blowing up the school or a family’s home!

    again

    Robert Ahles

“Klontz said the only threats of violence came from students who told her son they would blow up the family’s home in retaliation for the offensive post.”
What disciplinary has been taken against those students that made the violent threats? What is worse, that facebook post or the violent threats to blow up the family’s home?

From March 19th…St. Cloud man arrested at Tech High School

A St. Cloud man was arrested Wednesday afternoon at St. Cloud Technical High School after he pushed and threatened to assault a school security employee, according to St. Cloud Police.
Police officers were called to the school at 1:52 p.m. after a report that Redwan Mahamed Shire, 19, had become disorderly, authorities said. Police say the incident does not appear to be related to a protest that was going on at the same time outside the school.
Shire was booked and released at Stearns County Jail on the charge of disorderly conduct.

    • yucki: I would like to ask you a question (I hope Eeyore allows me this little opportunistic side-tracking):

Do you know of a Rabbi Rav Dynovisz? I discovered a 1 hour speech by him yesterday on the Charlie Hebdo affair – and was bowled over (he seems only to speak in French though and lives in Jerusalem).

  2. 4/ The Tibetans can probably make a better ‘indigenous’ claim than anyone else, in that they have an actual biological adaptation to their locale that pretty much forbids any other group from thriving there. The elevation makes everyone else sick, including the Han Chinese that Chinese policy is to overwhelm the Tibetans with.

But it seems that the Han invaders are willing to go on living with chronic altitude misery in order to hold the Tibetan Plateau. Perhaps the only hope the Tibetans have is to subvert Chinese society the way the cultural Marxists did the West, undermine its civilizational confidence by making a long march through the institutions of the original Long Marchers. Then the Han Chinese will understand that Chinese culture is exactly no worse and no better than any other culture, in fact the culture of the Tibetan barbarians in many ways is superior to Han culture. Then China will commit civilizational suicide and the Dalai Lama can have the Potala back.

    • Then the Han Chinese will understand that Chinese culture is exactly no worse and no better than any other culture…

      Hah! That’ll be the day-

  3. 1/ It might be prudent for important museums everywhere to begin giving every visitor a hand-out listing the options in the case of a Muslim terror attack, but something that would not be too useful to Muslims casing the place.
