Leftism and Islam. Certainly equal in contempt of individualism: Links 3 on March 13 – 2015

1. Canadian spy said to be detained in Turkey for helping British teens join ISIS

(This is from the 12th and I believe Canada has already denied this is the case. However it is highly likely that all these intel and security agencies are thoroughly penetrated by muslims who work for an islamic agenda)

MONTREAL – Turkish authorities say they have detained a spy for helping three British girls join Islamic State, and reports say the detainee worked for Canada’s spy agency.

Turkey hasn’t officially identified the spy’s home country.

However, foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the spy is from the military coalition against Islamic State and is not from Europe or the United States.

Several Turkish media, citing government sources, have said the detained spy was working for Canadian intelligence.

Tahera Mufti, spokeswoman for CSIS, did not respond to a written request for comment.

2. UK Tries a woman who went to join the fight against the Islamic State alongside the Kurds.

A teenager has appeared in court after allegedly trying to join Kurdish fighters battling Isis in Syria, in the first prosecution of its kind in Britain.

Campaigners condemned the prosecution of Silhan Ozcelik, 18, from London, as “disgraceful and disgusting”, however. Ms Ozcelik’s appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court followed her arrested at Stansted Airport in January after returning to Britain on a flight from Germany.

3. American ISIS Member Issues Warning: “We’re in Texas, Ohio, New York City, Washington, D.C.”

Christopher Cornell, the Ohio man who was arrested in January over a plot to attack targets in Washington DC and is a self described member of ISIS, called a local news station and gave an unexpected phone interview from the detention facility where he is being held.

In the interview, Cornell issued some chilling warnings:

“I got orders from the brothers overseas because I’m with the Islamic State. My brothers over there, in Syria and Iraq, gave me specific orders to carry out jihad in the west, so I did so.”

“What do I think is coming? Many things. There will be many, many attacks. Like I said, we are ready for the battle over the Capitol.”

4. Former Ottawa imam surfaces in video telling Libyans ‘jihad today is simple and easily accessible’

A former Ottawa imam appeared in a video “promoting violent jihad” in Libya, according to a “Secret” Canadian intelligence report obtained by the National Post under the Access to Information Act.

5. Ranger director resigns in wake of offensive (mohamed) tweet controversy

(I am not understanding this article 100%. But it appears that someone has been forced to ‘resign’ from an administrative position at a soccer club because they tweeted an image of the pirate mohamed which was offensive to muslims. This goes a long way towards proving that England is a sharia compliant state and magna-carta is not even a memory)

Chris Graham has resigned as a director at Rangers days after he was accused of tweeting an offensive picture depicting the prophet Muhammad performing a sex act on a Star Wars character.

The image appeared on Graham’s Twitter account and immediately led to Muslim leaders calling for Rangers to take action against the nonexecutive director, who was only appointed to the position on Tuesday following Dave King’s takeover at the club last week.

6. Glazov gang: Jihad on the offensive

(It is an hour long panel public speech and quite good from the 8 minutes I have seen so far)

  1. Saturday March 14 2015 – Germany – Wuppertal :

Around 400 Salafists are expected to rally in Wuppertal on Saturday, March 14, in an action called by German Salafist preachers Sven Lau and Ibrahim Abou-Nagie.
A group of at least 800 PEGIDA demonstrators are also rallying in the city on the same day

    • Growing Somali mall in Minneapolis now boasts one of the state’s largest mosques

Construction of the metro area’s newest mosque involved a shopping trip to the Middle East, some back-and-forth with the city of Minneapolis and a reported $3 million investment.

But developer Basim Sabri says setting out to build one of Minnesota’s largest mosques at his Karmel Square mall wasn’t a vanity project. Instead, the space — part of a major expansion at Karmel — was meant as a goodwill gesture to the local Somalis who rent and shop at the south Minneapolis mall.

The expansion has tested Sabri’s famously tense relationships with the city and the mall’s neighbors, who have voiced concerns over parking and traffic issues. Part of the construction collapsed in May, cutting off electricity to the neighborhood and briefly stalling the project.

Since it opened earlier this year, the mosque has gotten rave reviews from a growing cadre of worshipers, who cover the sun-filled, 5,000-square-foot prayer hall completely when they kneel at Friday prayer.

“This mosque is not about showing off,” said Sabri. “It’s about need.”

The new mosque replaces a prayer room on the second floor that could not handle the crowds; worshipers spilled out into the mall hallways and, during the holy month of Ramadan, even the mall parking lot.

The space is on the newly added third floor of the state’s oldest Somali mall, where shops sell long skirts and scarves, henna tattoos, jewelry, handbags, rugs and Somali specialties such as savory sambusa pastries.

Sabri is also building a fourth floor and a three-story parking ramp.

He claims the new mosque is the largest in Minnesota, possibly even the Midwest. But the imam of another new Twin Cities mosque, Darool-Uloom, which moved into a former Catholic church on St. Paul’s East Side last summer, says it handily surpasses Karmel’s square footage to claim that distinction.

There, Imam Sheikh Hassan says the men’s prayer hall alone covers about 15,000 square feet.[…]

  2. The Rangers guy has been in trouble before due the the sectarianism between Glasgow Rangers ( protestant) and Glasgow Celtic ( Catholic). He is not a liked man especially by the Celtic green side of the city. He has largely represented the supporters of the club but you are right. Free speech is dead effectively. It may also have something to do with the fact that the Cessnock , Ibrox area which the club is based is slowly being taken over by the muslim community. Lately however in the last two years there has been a large increase of africans.
It has even transpired that bus loads of said africans have been bussed in at night at 4 in the morning and have been directed to awaiting flats. I kid you not that one day travelling in the city I saw more africans in half an hour than in twenty years. They have suddenly appeared.
Anyway I digress. Close by to this area is Pollockshields which is basically a muslim ghetto although there has just been built a very large sikh temple on its outskirts. This amuses me no end.
A couple of years ago I did a job for a lady whose father was visiting from France.
A Scottish man he explained to me that in the early 1980’s he was a mechanic and he was asked to give a quote for a fleet of vehicles owned by a wealthy local muslim cash and carry business.
He was shown into a large room in one of the local large Villas the family owned. He was introduced to a man with a large beard in the usaul pyjama clobber. For twenty minutes this man explained to him that Islam would one day rule the world but before that Pollockshields would all become muslim. I am pretty sure this area had one of the first muslim MP’s Mohammad Sarwar. I actually voted for him being the niave typical lefty at the time.
Anyway the guy turned out right. The area is muslim dominated. The local gangs hold sway and it is slowly spreading out to encompass other areas.Shawlands nearby has a local school that now has 57 different languages in it. Ten years ago it was a largely white up and coming middle class area that trendy first time buyers would move to. Now it looks like a street in London.
My point is that this guy has obviously upset the locals and the dominant labour council. We can’t have that can we!

  4. The people going to the Middle East to fight for or against ISIS is a replay of the Spanish Civil War, many people from around the world went to Spain to fight for one side of the other. The left has made heroes of those fighting for the losing side but from what I know of that war the losing (communist) side was much worse then the side supported by the Nazi’s. In fact the committed many more war crimes.

    • Supported by the Nazis maybe, but not Nazis themselves, by a long way.
In my part of SW France there is a well defined route by which thousands of Jews travelled from German occupied Europe to the Spanish border and thence to freedom.
As you say, Richard, the left has made heroes of those fighting for what was basically a communist front, and they have stigmatised the Nationalists as proto-Nazis, conveniently forgetting that Franco recognised Hitler for the lunatic he was very early on, refused to join the Axis powers, saved Spain from Communism and Nazism and laid the foundation for Spanish democracy.
The history that is taught today is revisionist and ignorant.

      • You are right, I didn’t go into the details of how the nationalist were really the good guys in the fight. Franco was at times a very harsh man but he did save Spain from Fascism and communism, too bad the socialist have so much power today.
