Inspired by Andre Poulin’s apparent charisma and his message, five Toronto men followed him to Syria and ultimately into the arms of ISIS, CBC News has learned.

Poulin, from Timmins, Ont., converted to Islam and went by the name Abu Muslim. He joined the jihadist fight in Syria in 2012, in the process creating an 11-minute propaganda video for ISIS aimed at Westerners.

He died while fighting in northern Syria in the summer of 2013 at the age of 24.

8. CSIS flags Canadian online anti-Islam threat in Public Safety briefing

Canada’s spy agency is eyeing the threat of a budding anti-Islam movement online.

CSIS flagged well-known warnings of the persistent menace posed by terrorist groups al-Qaida, Hezbollah and the more violent and radical Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, say notes obtained through the Access to Information Act.

But under the heading Domestic Extremism, the spy service also underscored what might be the flip side of that coin — the recent development “of a Canadian online anti-Islam movement, similar to ones in Europe.”

CSIS characterized it as an “ongoing risk, particularly as its proponents advocate violence.”

The Sept. 18 briefing for Blaney’s office came a little more than a month before soldiers were killed in Canadian attacks just two days apart — murders committed by young men that authorities say were motivated by Islamic extremism.

(CSIS needs to be reminded that immigration along with the economy and a few other subjects are the single most important determiners of the direction of a country. That to say those who disagree with the current notions of unlimited immigration open to people who are raised with a culture which seeks to destroy liberal democracy and individual rights and are diametrically opposed to the principles of the Enlightenment, are suggesting that we should not have anything like a democracy. Democratic nations specifically are about public input in critical policies. Targeting those who oppose public policies in a democratic way is opposing democracy)

9. CBC does radio segment on the British rape gang phenomenon. Sort of. They seemed to have omitted a thing or two from their report though.

Thank you M., Richard, Don C., CB Sashenka, ML., Wrath of Khan and numerous other people thoughtful enough to send in news stories that need to be seen in the greater context. It is somewhat appalling that CSIS is pretending that any online resistance to islamic jihad in its various forms in order to preserve our own history, law and culture is in any way equatable to islamic manifest destiny. Unless they are speaking about some sites and people I am unfamiliar with.

That being said, after reading reports of how truly awful Islamic motivated behaviour against unbelievers and even their own children can be, it is easy to lose one’s temper and post things out of shock and horror on sites like this one which may seem to counsel or indicate violence. It would be a good time to take a deep breath and make all comments in the most rational manner I suspect as CSIS, like the British enforcement, is probably itching to make an example of some other group in order to make a bogus claim of some kind of ‘balance’. Best if its none of us.

  1. Boko Haram posts video purporting to show beheadings of two men (CNN, March 3, 2015)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/03/02/africa/boko-haram-beheadings-video/index.html

“Boko Haram, the Islamist extremist group already blamed for numerous horrific attacks in West Africa, posted a graphic video online Monday showing the apparent beheadings of two men who the group said were suspected spies.

The six-minute video shows two men with their arms tied to their backs. They are made to face the camera on their knees, with another man towering over one of them brandishing a knife.

The knife-wielding man reaches toward the throat of one of the kneeling men, then the video switches scenes to show what appear to be the bloody severed heads of the two men placed on their headless bodies….”

  2. One of FBI’s most wanted terrorists captured in Somalia (CNN, March 3, 2015)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/03/03/africa/somalia-fbi-most-wanted-arrested/index.html

“A Somali-American on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list has been captured, Somali intelligence officials said Tuesday.

Liban Haji Mohamed was arrested as he traveled from an area controlled by terror group Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia.

The one-time cabdriver in northern Virginia is being held and interrogated by Somali officials.

Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency did not say when Mohamed was captured but said the suspect had been under surveillance for several days.

Mohamed was born in Somalia but is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

The 29-year-old left the United States in July 2012 to join al Qaeda in Somalia, according to CNN affiliate WTKR-TV, citing the FBI.

Mohamed is wanted by the FBI for allegedly providing material support to terrorists, but his extradition is not assured, as the United States and Somalia do not have an extradition treaty in place.”

  3. 8/ So they have had Reverse World up and running for fifty years now, steadily intensifying the illogicality as the ‘waves and waves of immigrants that have come for decades’ necessitate it, keeping the research subjects of the great social experiment and grand remplacement from getting too jittery as everything around them becomes its opposite and their numbers thin. Even if, as the evidence crystallizes brightly and densely around them, doubt assails them privately, Canadians must continue to profess in their public lives that Diversity is Strength and Islam is a Religion of Tolerance and Peace.

Those observed to be perceiving reality will be monitored and any who describe it openly will be punished. Subjects cracking under the strain are easy to spot. ‘A simple online search quickly turns up websites with Canadian domain addresses spouting anti-Islamic invective.’ Plain truth is ‘extremist propaganda’ on this side of the looking glass and must be banished. The illusion will be maintained.

        • Given the amount of time and the number of posts we have all made our files are several inches thick. The thing we have to remember is never call for direct action, never place ourselves in the position where we are the ones instigating others to violence.

    • ‘CSIS spokeswoman Tahera Mufti.’

All right. Maybe she’s not even a Muslim.

Journalist Shahan Mufti explores his family history and that of the Islamic civilization in Pakistan:

’…the story behind my surname, “Mufti.” It means the “giver of fatwas,” and I found that my ancestors issued fatwas or Islamic rulings in the courts of Muslim emperors. My surname, like many others’ names, is a portal into a rich past full of stories….’

    • Great! Shouldn’t have bothered tempering his message for those few seconds at 3:10 though. There is hardly anything in Islam that is compatible, as Igler makes abundantly clear with everything else he says here.

  4. @ The CBC/CSIS post…..

    Hello there….its me again…….Don Laird

There is an element to be concerned about but I interpret this CBC reportage as largely typical CBC leftist/liberal hackery.

I notice that CBC did not post the “notes” from CSIS to Blaney they referred to and knowing CBC were there any substance to those “notes” they would have PDF’ed them and placed them on their website to download in order to intimidate the opponents to Islam and terrorism.

Personally, I think there is a little meat to this but it was probably a simple note from CSIS to Blaney pointing out the obvious; that Canadians are getting sick and tired of the Muslim and its repeated threats to Canadians, Canadian national security and Canadian national sovereignty.

On the same note, if the government, the judiciary and law enforcement continue to blissfully ignore the Islamic growth industry of violence and intimidation they will have a powder keg on their hands. The solution is not to target the symptom of growing Canadian discontent but rather to seek out and deal with the cause.
