1. Bangladesh: Huge cache of explosives recovered from Chittagong, 4 arrested

Over 100 kg of explosives, bombs and ammunitions were found at the house, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed told reporters at the port cityon Saturday.

“All this has been stocked up in the house to carry out large-scale sabotage.”

Islami Chhatra Shibir literature and documents of Islami Chhatri Sangstha were recovered from the house.

Shibir and Chhatri Sangstha are Jamaat-e-Islami’s student fronts.

According to the RAB chief, the trouble makers were planning to make bombs in water flasks used by schoolkids on a large scale.

“That is a perfect camouflage as everyone would think it was for carrying water. These kinds of bombs can cause a massive casualty.”

3. Police in Germany’s Bremen reduce presence after Islamist threat warning

BERLIN, March 1 (Reuters) – Police in the north German city of Bremen, who warned on Saturday of a heightened danger from Islamist extremists, said they had slightly reduced their presence after searches revealed no hidden weapons.

Ulrich Maeurer, interior senator for the city-state of Bremen, and its public prosecutors’ office said no weapons were found when an Islamic culture centre and the apartment of a 39-year-old Lebanese man were searched.

The Lebanese man was suspected of procuring sub-machine guns and automatic pistols and distributing them to people connected with the Islamic culture centre, a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office in Bremen said.

3. Queers Against Israeli Apartheid disbands

(Do not confuse this with changing views based on rational self interest etc. This is merely a tactical retreat not a strategic change. They simply moved to more fertile grounds for their band of totem antisemitism and pro Islamism in politically correct drag)

4. Italy to begin naval exercises off Libya

Italy will begin annual naval exercises this week near the coast of Libya, where a breakdown in order has allowed tens of thousands of migrants to try to reach Europe by boat and increased fears of attacks by Islamist militants.

The navy said in a statement that the exercises, known as Mare Aperto (Open Sea), would begin on Monday.

The exercises were suspended last year because of the search-and-rescue mission dubbed Mare Nostrum, which was set up after hundreds of migrants were drowned off the southern island of Lampedusa. Mare Nostrum has now ended and been replaced by a more limited European Union mission known as Triton.

(I am confident that this is not in any way directly why gays against Israel disbanded, other than these kind of actions may have dried up some funding)

7. Six suspects, mostly Bosnian, the perfect model of ‘moderate US freedom loving, muslims, arrested for sending weapons to the Islamic State

Thank you UK Pete, M., Snaphanen, ML., and many more and much more to come, some specializing on Canada and Quebec in particular, and a Costco story that needs to be exposed for what it is.

  1. Egyptians mock IS jihadist anthem

Egyptians take to the internet with videos poking fun Islamic State militants

A recent online video shows two knife-wielding women dressed in black from head to toe standing behind a kneeling woman wearing an orange jumpsuit, with the trademark jihadist anthem of the Islamic State group playing in the background.

Dancing, not blood, is what comes next when the three masked Egyptian women mock the militant group with what seems to be an impromptu sarcasm campaign against the anthem, Salil El-Sawarem (clang of swords), that is used in the recent graphic execution videos released by IS.

Most videos consist of edited scenes of Egyptian movies with the anthem played. The first half of videos always looks serious, until the remix interpretation of the song with a dancing beat starts.

On social media there are also Internet memes mocking the anthem using snapshots of comedies.

The online sarcasm of the Islamic State group comes after last month’s beheading of 20 Egyptian Christians in Libya, which was taped and released online before Egypt replied with airstrikes.

It is not the first time social media users have opted for sarcasm in reply to brutality at the hands of IS. After Japanese men Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto were kidnapped by the Islamist militants, who eventually killed them, many memes were released online.

  2. Nigerian female bomb suspect beaten to death by mob (BBC, March 1, 2015)

“A mob beat a woman to death in the north-eastern Nigerian city of Bauchi in the belief that she was a suicide bomber, police and witnesses say.

The woman – said to be a teenager – was attacked when she refused to be screened at the entrance to a market. No explosives were found on her.

A series of suicide bombings in northern Nigeria has been blamed on Boko Haram militants.

It wants to enforce strict Islamic law across the country….”

  3. Rival Yemeni Camps Entrench as Iran Flights Arrive (abcnews, March 1, 2015)

“An Iranian airplane delivered supplies to Yemen’s Shiite rebel-held capital on Sunday, while the president gained support from influential tribal and provincial leaders in signs that the rival camps seeking to rule the rapidly unravelling country are entrenching their positions.

The first direct flight from Shiite powerhouse Iran to Sanaa was carrying 12 tons of medical supplies as well as tents and Red Crescent aid workers, Iran’s deputy ambassador Rasai Ebadi told The Associated Press. It came a day after rebel Houthi representatives signed an agreement in Tehran to set up 14 direct weekly flights between the two countries.

The move underscored how the rebels, who are widely suspected of being backed by Iran, are strengthening their grip over state institutions and exercising sovereign power in Sanaa even as the country’s president insists he is still in charge after fleeing to the south….”

    • Iran’s first plane lands in Yemen

Iran said on Sunday that its first flight had landed in the Yemeni capital only a day after the two countries signed a landmark aviation deal.

Iran’s ISNA news agency reported that a plane from Iranian airliner Mahan Air had taken a cargo of humanitarian aid – mostly medicine – for Yemen. The cargo was contributed by the Red Crescent of Iran.

“The flights between Tehran and Sanaa are meant to transport passengers,” an unnamed official has told ISNA.

“Considering that Iran wanted to take a message of peace to Yemen, it was decided to dedicate the first flight to the country for transporting a relief cargo of medical supplies.”

The flight was the first between the two countries in many years.

Under the deal that was signed between the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA) of Yemen and Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO)on 28 February, Mahan Air and Yemen’s airliner Yemenia would operate 14 flights between Tehran Sanaa each a week.
