1. Man charged over ‘chemical weapon’

A man from Liverpool has been charged with attempting to obtain a chemical weapon, police have said.

Mohammed Ammer Ali, 31, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in central London on Tuesday.

He was arrested on Wednesday, when officers from North West Counter Terrorism Unit and Merseyside Police searched five Merseyside addresses.

Officers have uncovered no plan or threat of an imminent attack either at home or abroad, police said.

The suspect is accused of attempting to have a chemical weapon in his possession between January 10 and February 12, contrary to the Criminal Attempts Act 1981 and the Chemical Weapons Act 1996.

2. Al-Azhar prohibits watching IS execution videos

(The reason for this fatwa of course is 100% to do with the Islamic definition of slander. The beheadings etc. make Islam look bad to we, the unclean. So its critical that no TV station shows these Islamic State videos as it weakens the position of muslims poised to take over)

In a statement Al-Azhar also urged media not to publish the “crimes of the terrorists” in order not to fulfill the “sinister aim” of affecting the morale of the Muslims and giving a reason to spread Islamophobia and defame Islam worldwide

3. More Egyptians being kidnapped

Tripoli, 16 February 2015:

There are reports that at least 35 Egyptians have been kidnapped in what appears to be a round-up at various locations in areas controlled by Ansar Al-Sharia and IS.

The Libya Herald has been told that starting this morning, in the wake of the attack on Derna by warplanes from Egypt, Egyptian nationals, many of them it seems farm workers, have been picked up by gunmen. The first reports were that seven men had been seized, but by mid-afternoon, it was being said that at least 35 had been reported missing.

You’ve hit the nail on the head about the meaning of the word “slander”. It’s not that people want to say untrue things about Muhammad, it’s that they want to say true things about Muhammad. I have no desire to insult anybody’s religion. It’s just that Islam is predatory while pretending to be peaceful, and to tell people they aren’t allowed to warn others about it is like telling zebras they can’t whinnie when they spot hungry lions…

    • Islam isn’t a religion, it is a political ideology masquerading as a religion, it is time the free world recognized this and stopped treating it as a religion.

  2. Council boss who refused to quit over grooming scandal gets £600,000 payoff: Victims’ anger over huge redundancy package drawn up on eve of scathing report that will allow her to dodge blame (dailyamail, Feb 16, 2015)
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2956225/Council-boss-refused-quit-grooming-scandal-gets-600-000-payoff.html

“The council boss whose staff failed scores of girls abused by a sex grooming gang is in line for a payoff worth nearly £600,000.

The bumper redundancy package for Joanna Simons has been drawn up on the eve of a scathing report into the paedophile scandal.

Officials insist the 55-year-old chief executive is leaving Oxfordshire County Council for cost-cutting reasons. But there is anger from victims that the deal will allow Miss Simons to dodge any blame.

Catastrophic failings by the police and social workers meant the abuse carried on for years. In a further development, the chief constable whose force will be lambasted in the same report has been promoted to a new £185,000 a year job.

Sara Thornton will step down next month as head of Thames Valley Police – after eight years in charge – to lead the new National Police Chiefs Council.

Like Miss Simons, the 52-year-old refused to resign two years ago despite the failings of her officers in the Oxford sex grooming case.

Police failed to act even though victims had repeatedly told officers they’d been raped or abused. Staff at care homes would simply watch while the girls went missing at night with men….”

Islamic State: Egypt urges international intervention in Libya (BBC, Feb 16, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31494806

“Egypt has called on the international community to intervene against Islamic State (IS) militants in Libya.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that what was happening in Libya was a threat to world peace and security.

His remarks came as Egyptian jets bombed IS targets in response to a militant video of the apparent beheadings of 21 Egyptian Christians.

Libya has been in chaos since 2011, with militias battling for control of territory and two rival governments.

But the BBC’s Jim Muir says there is little international appetite for military involvement and the emphasis remains on trying to find a political and diplomatic solution to the country’s problems….”

  4. Child abuse report: Too many children still at risk (BBC, Feb 16, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-31489597

“Too many children in England are still “slipping though the net” and remain at risk of sexual abuse, a report says.

The Office of the Children’s Commissioner report found there had been “considerable” progress in some areas of tackling child exploitation.

But “at the front line much work is still needed,” said Deputy Commissioner Sue Berelowitz, who headed the inquiry.

A Home Office spokesman said it was “determined that appalling cases be exposed” but said “more must be done”.

The latest report follows an OCC inquiry into child sexual exploitation in gangs and groups, which was launched in October 2011 and published six reports, making 37 recommendations….”

  5. African allies claim gains against Boko Haram (BBC, Feb 17, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-31493150

“Nigerian troops, backed by air strikes, have reclaimed the towns of Monguno and Marte from Boko Haram, according to a military statement.

Meanwhile, Cameroon says its army has killed more than 80 Boko Haram soldiers and arrested 1,000 of their supporters.

Niger also claimed on Monday to have arrested 160 people with links to Boko Haram since 6 February.

Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger recently formed a military coalition against the Islamist militants.

Representatives from the four countries are currently in the Cameroonian capital of Yaounde with other African leaders to discuss how best to tackle Boko Haram….”

  6. Yemen crisis: Pro-Hadi militiamen seize Aden buildings (BBC, Feb 16, 2015)

“Clashes have erupted in Yemen’s second city of Aden between militiamen loyal to President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and forces allied to Houthi rebels.

At least three people were killed after members of the Popular Resistance Committees attacked pro-rebel police guarding several government buildings.

The PRC now control an intelligence headquarters and television building….”

Iraq preparing to retake Mosul from Islamic State – PM (BBC, Feb 16, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31484732

“Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi says its armed forces are preparing for an offensive to retake the northern city of Mosul from Islamic State (IS).

Mr Abadi told the BBC he hoped Mosul would be liberated in a few months’ time, and with a minimum of casualties.

Mosul, which was home to more than a million people, fell to IS last June.

Mr Abadi also said he had been “a bit frustrated” in his first few months in office by the slowness of international help for the fight against IS.

But in recent weeks, he added, the situation had changed for the better….”

  8. Denmark terror suspect swore fidelity to ISIS leader on Facebook page (CNN, Feb 16, 2015)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/02/16/europe/denmark-shootings/index.html

“The man suspected of killing two people in Copenhagen swore fidelity to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a posting made on what’s apparently his Facebook page just before the weekend shooting spree.

The post pledges “allegiance to Abu Bakr in full obedience in the good and bad things. And I won’t dispute with him unless it is an outrageous disbelief.””

To understand the duplicity and scale of coverup of the sex abuse epidemic in the UK you only need to know that Sue Berelowitz is still in her job despite uproar about her earlier report when she turned somersaults trying to ignore the existence and extent of Islamic gangs of men grooming and raping non muslim girls. She tried to minimize their activities and distract attention from them by claiming victims would slip through the net if more attention was focused on Islamic grooming gangs, and so for almost another 3 years those gangs were given a free pass.
