Report: Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl to Be Charged for Desertion — Here Are the Details

From The Blaze:

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was reportedly held captive by Taliban militants for five years, will be charged with desertion for leaving his post, according to sources of retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer. Bergdahl was only released after President Barack Obama negotiated with the terrorists, agreeing to release five prisoners from Guantanamo Bay.

Shaffer, senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, told Bill O’Reilly on Monday night that his sources have confirmed the Army has concluded its investigation and Bergdahl’s lawyer has been given a “charge sheet” informing him of the desertion charge.

The Taliban proposed a deal in which they would free the U.S. soldier held captive since 2009 in exchange for five of their most senior operatives at Guantanamo Bay, while Afghan President Hamid Karzai eased his opposition Thursday June 20, 2013 to joining planned peace talks. 1. Boko Haram Release Shocking Images of Child Soldier Training Camp (newsweek, Jan 26, 2015)
    http://www.newsweek.com/boko-haram-release-shocking-images-child-soldier-training-camp-302000

“A media group associated with the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram has published two images which reveal a military training camp for children in northeastern Nigeria.

The organisation, al-Urwa al-Wuthaqa, shows the children dressed in dark clothing with their heads covered by garments. In one photo, the children are aiming their guns while in another they are posing with the weapons.

The Long War Journal claims that both young girls and boys are present in the photos, while some are holding AK47 assault rifles, others are holding cutouts of weapons.

According to Max Abrahms, professor of political science at Northwestern University and member at the Council of Foreign Relations, Boko Haram uses child soldiers in order to boost its membership numbers….”

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe that the United Nations was created in the first place specifically to protect people from exactly the kinds of atrocities that Boko Haram is perpetrating on innocent civilians at this very moment. Why is there not a blue-helmeted army in there doing their job and protecting people? Can’t an organization, funded by the entire planet Earth, come up with the money to pay the soldiers and buy the bullets? There’s a ten-alarm fire in progress, but the firemen can’t get away from their cribbage tournament? Where is the big mob holding up signs saying, “Black lives matter!”. If the UN won’t act on this, why do they exist at all?

Go down to the henhouse and talk to the furry red guy with the long pointy nose and the big bushy tail…

    • The UN has been infiltrated by Islam. That has been obvious for a long time.
Muslim nations get together and block vote. Why do you think Israel gets such a hard time?

As for Bergdahl, well there’s a lot of fishy stuff going on here. He was stuck with the Muslim militants for so long that apparently he forgot how to speak English. Yeah, how convenient.
I’m sorry, but that doesn’t happen. Small children can sometimes forget how to speak their native language but that’s only after years and years. It wouldn’t happen to an adult, and especially not just after a few years. Besides, many of the Taliban Muzzloids speak some English anyway.

      • The UN has been infiltrated by Islam.

I hadn’t thought about it that way, Softly. But I see how that works.

The Tardish from their numerous hellholes represent a large voting bloc. Plus oily Arabs were in a position to hold energy-thirsty states hostage. The old “nonaligned” were in fact aligned in their opposition to everything American. Otherwise trivial and impotent, they enjoyed sticking the US via her pet, the State of Israel.

In time anti-Israel politics came to dominate the bureaucratic machinery of the UN. Within the functional structure of the UN were committees, complete with automatic funding and without oversight. Here’s where the animus toward Israel was expressed in fact.

There’s an article that explains a great deal:

      • The only time the UN worked the way it was suppose to was during the Korean War, the USSR was boycotting the UN when Korea was discussed and an Army sent to stop the North. They have refused to allow the UN forces to fight every since.

    • But of course! The Big -ism!

Showing off having done my “The Narrative” & “Frankfort School” homework. I understand “cultural Marxism” when Big Frank uses it, but I can’t use it yet myself in a complete sentence.

    • What most people don’t remember or never knew is that the majority of green groups were started by the left to damage the west and help the USSR, a large number were started by KGB agents and all were funded by the USSR.

  3. U.S. Army says no actions, decision in Bergdahl investigation

No actions or decisions have been made in the investigation of Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, who was released last year in a prisoner swap with the Taliban after disappearing from his base in Afghanistan in 2009, a U.S. Army spokesman said on Tuesday.

Major General Ronald Lewis, head of public affairs for the U.S. Army, also said in the statement that media reports published earlier on Tuesday about the case “patently false.”

NBC News earlier reported that Bergdahl would be charged with desertion, citing senior defense officials.
