2. EDL Article on PEGIDA: Hateful and Extremist

We would respectfully remind Mr. Cameron that our rights to peaceful protest are enshrined not just in English law and tradition, and in that precious English heritage we are struggling to preserve, but in European and international treaties and agreements. We are not knuckle-dragging hooligans who can be slandered and pushed aside. We are ordinary people, normal people, the English people, and our voice will be heard.

Rembrandt Clancy has translated and annotated a speech by Michael Mannheimer that was given at a rally for WÜGIDA (the PEGIDA affiliate in Würzburg) on January 5.

WÜGIDA, Würzburg: Michael Mannheimer’s Speech

Introduction and translation by Rembrandt Clancy

5 January 2015

Original Video Source: YouTube

The video below presents Michael Mannheimer’s highly charged speech in Würzburg. He is a dynamic and spontaneous speaker interacting with his audience. This event is about collective survival, for the underlying theme is the demographic crisis in Germany and its political consequences. It finds a highpoint in the demonstrators’ call to resistance, which Mannheimer answers with his reference to Article 20, paragraph 4 of the Basic Law, (Constitution of Germany), a call to resistance against a remote and traitorous elite who are in the process of “extinguishing us Germans.” ;

4. Morroccan man killed in ‘Islamophobic’ attack in southern France

A Muslim man was stabbed 17 times in front of his wife in a suspected Islamophobic attack.

Mohamed El Makouli, 47, was attacked by a 28-year-old intruder who forced his way into his home in the village of Beaucet, near Avignon in southern France, shouting “I am your god, I am your Islam”, before stabbing him, the National Observatory Against Islamophobia said. Observatory president Abdallah Zekri condemned the attack as “a horrible Islamophobic attack”.

The attacker returned with another knife and stabbed the father of one again, killing him.

El Makouli’s 31-year-old wife, Nadia, suffered wounds to her hands during the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, before fleeing the home with her child to alert police.

5. ISIS Threatens To Kill 2 Japanese Hostages In New Video

Beirut (AFP) – The Islamic State group threatened to kill two Japanese hostages unless Tokyo pays a $200 million ransom within 72 hours, in a video posted on jihadist websites on Tuesday.

In the video, a black-clad militant brandishing a knife addresses the camera in English standing between two hostages wearing orange jumpsuits.

“You now have 72 hours to pressure your government into making a wise decision by paying the £200 million dollars to save the lives of your citizens,” he says.

Thank you Don C., Wrath of Khan, GoV., M., and all who sent in material throughout the day.
I think the best collective IQ test for humanity might be demonstrated right now by the people of France, who instead of realizing that their individual rights and freedoms are only on loan to them, once they have given up their right to be armed, are debating whether or not its OK to publish stupid drawings that offend the people who hate them.

  1. 4 Suspects First to Face Charges in French Terror Attacks (abcnews, Jan 20, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/france-suspects-face-charges-attacks-28338815

“Four men are facing preliminary charges Tuesday on suspicion of links to a gunman involved in France’s deadliest terrorist attacks in decades.

The Paris prosecutor’s office said the four, who would be the first to face charges in the case, are suspected of providing logistical support to Amedy Coulibaly. Coulibaly shot a policewoman to death on the outskirts of Paris and then seized hostages inside a kosher supermarket, killing four before he was killed by police. It is not clear whether the suspects were involved in plotting the attacks or even aware of Coulibaly’s plans.

The Paris prosecutor’s office said five others arrested in the investigation were released Tuesday without charge.

The four men, all in their 20s, will appear before an investigating judge later Tuesday. No other details were immediately available.

No one has been charged for direct involvement in the attacks Jan. 7-9 on satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, the kosher market and police. Twenty people were killed, including the three gunmen, who claimed allegiance to al-Qaida and the Islamic State group.

A Malian employee whose quick thinking saved lives at the kosher market was getting French citizenship on Tuesday, and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was arriving to pay respects to victims of the attacks.”

Turkey: 20 Detained for Allegedly Eavesdropping on Erdogan (abcnews, Jan 20, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkey-20-detained-allegedly-eavesdropping-erdogan-28340936

“Turkey’s state-run news agency says police have launched raids in Ankara and three other cities, detaining some 20 people suspected of illegally eavesdropping on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other senior officials.

Anadolu Agency says the suspects, detained early on Tuesday, are linked to Turkey’s telecommunications authority and to its scientific and technological research center. They are suspected of wiretapping phones, included encrypted ones used by government officials.

Last year, secretly taped telephone conversations suggesting corruption were leaked on the Internet, including one between Erdogan and his son.

Erdogan has insisted the tapes were fabricated as part of a plot orchestrated by followers of an influential Islamic movement led by U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Dozens of police officers have also been arrested on illegal wiretapping charges.”

  3. France: Five Russian Chechens arrested on suspicion of plotting terror attack

  4. The title of this article is different in the print edition (“Euro police jihadis have us outgunned”) from the online version:
NYDailyNews: Police in Europe seek boost in firepower to respond against terrorists

Targeted and outgunned by homegrown terrorists, cops throughout Europe are demanding a serious boost in firepower.

    ****
Also from the NY Daily News:
Two planes searched at Kennedy Airport after bomb threat

The bogus bomb threat on Monday resulted in authorities searching a plane that arrived from San Francisco. Another plane set to leave for Tel Aviv was also searched for explosives. The unknown caller contacted Delta Airlines and said that there was a bomb on Flight 468. Both flights shared the same number.

        • The police are – have to – become a military force. Beat cops don’t stand a chance.

It’s sad. I’ve always been fond of our local coppers. Good people, important and respected. That’s going to change as fear ratchets upward.

        • The big danger of the police becoming a military force is that the politicians like Obama will decide to use them to oppress the citizens. The Second Amendment is suppose to prevent that but in way too many states (you live in one) the left has managed to pass laws limiting the citizens Second Amendment rights.

  5. RUSSIA – Protesters arrested for throwing holy water at Lenin mausoleum

Moscow (AFP) – Two Russian performance artists were being held by police on Tuesday after throwing holy water at the Lenin Mausoleum on Red Square and shouting “Rise up and leave!”

The men were held overnight in a police station and were awaiting a court hearing after the protest they carried out on Monday, an Orthodox holiday, a spokeswoman for OVD Info, a website that monitors detentions of activists, told AFP.

The men were being charged with petty hooliganism, which carries a punishment of up to 15 days in police detention, the site said.

A Moscow police spokeswoman said she had no information on the case.

The two men were Oleg Basov and Yevgeny Avilov, members of an art group called Blue Rider, OVD Info said.

In a video of the performance posted on YouTube, the two young men are shown carrying 5-litre bottles of holy water marked with a cross from a church across the square.

They move aside barriers in front of the mausoleum and throw the water at the doors and steps, shouting “Rise up and leave!” several times before being detained.

On Monday, Orthodox Christians celebrated Epiphany, a holiday marking the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan river that people commemorate by immersing themselves in icy rivers and lakes.

A spokeswoman for the Blue Rider group, Irina Dumitskaya, quoted by OVD Info, said that the aim of the performance was “to demolish the myth that Lenin lives forever by attempting to resurrect him on the Epiphany holiday just as Lazarus was raised from the dead.”

  6. Paris Mayor Announces Plans to Sue Fox News

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour today she’s planning to sue Fox News over its coverage of her city:

BREAKING: Paris is going to sue @FoxNews after image of Paris was “insulted” and “prejudiced,” Mayor @Anne_Hidalgo tells me.

    — Christiane Amanpour (@camanpour) January 20, 2015

Last week, various individuals on Fox News made some questionable claims about Muslim no-go zones in France, which made them quite the subject of ridicule by a French TV show.

Fox did issue apologies over the weekend for some of the claims they made about no-go zones.

Hidalgo made it clear to Amanpour today she was very specifically talking about Fox:

From Paris: AMANPOUR: Can you clarify, which exact network you’re going to take to court and sue? HIDALGO: “Fox News, that’s the name.”

    — Ram Ramgopal (@RamCNN) January 20, 2015

Earlier today, Hidalgo took a shot at the “stigmatizing stupidity of Fox News” on Twitter:

Je suis bien sûr choquée par la bêtise stigmatisante de Fox News : @BilldeBlasio et moi irons d’ailleurs dans le 19e cet après-midi
