1. Dozens Of Churches Torched In Hebdo Protest

(Oh those whacky muslims. Is there anything they won’t do? Let’s tune in today to see what mayhem the religion of peace gets up to. Same channel and all day long!)

Forty-five churches have been torched in Niger over the use of a Prophet Mohammed cartoon on the cover of Charlie Hebdo magazine.

At least five people died and 128 were injured in the capital Niamey during protests against the image on the front of the satirical publication.

The controversial magazine ran a caricature showing the prophet under the headline “All is forgiven” just days after an Islamist attack on its offices in Paris that left 12 people dead.

(The videos at site are worth seeing. Especially the first one where young african muslim children can be heard dancing and singing and shouting “allah akbar” with delight in the streets as they burn churches, Christians are killed, and watch bibles scatter in the winds)

2. Saudi Arabia: Man arrested for filming officers publicly beheading woman in street

Saudi news outlets revealed that the man had been arrested but did not state what he would be charged with.

However, an Interior Ministry spokesman confirmed that filming the incident would be classed as a cybercrime under the country’s strict form of Sharia law, based on the Quran.

(That’s because the Saudis don’t have a formal charge for, ‘making islam look like what it is to unbelievers’) More on this story here

3. Towie fan who travelled to Syria begs father to take her home in reunion at Turkish detention centre as she reveals what life is like inside ISIS stronghold of Raqqa

A British woman who travelled to Syria with her young son before escaping an ISIS stronghold has begged her father to take her home after describing life with the jihadists as ‘hard’.

Tareena Shakil, 25, ran away to the war-torn country last October after telling relatives she was going on holiday to Spain with her 17-month-old son Zaheem.

However, the TOWIE fan said life in the ISIS-held city of Raqqa was ‘hard’ and she escaped back across the Turkish border after, she claims, the militants tried to force her into marrying a one-legged fighter.

Now Shakil, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, has asked her father for forgiveness and begged him to ‘please take me home,’ after being told she could potentially be sent back to Syria and into the clutches of the terrorist group.

4. ISIS cell members caught beheading animals as they practised how to decapitate people for an attack in Israel

ISIS cell members who used animals to practice how to behead people ahead of an imminent attack are the first to be discovered operating in Israel.

The seven men were caught just before executing an attack and had brutally slaughtered live animals, Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency said.

All seven admitted to belonging to ISIS and were part of a plot to attack Druze Israelis – a branch of Shia Islam – as well as police officers and the security service.

  1. SYRIA – ‘Six Iranians, including a general, killed in Israeli strike’

Sources close to Hezbollah say 3-car convoy was hit Sunday, killing 12 people in all; Iran names one of the dead as General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi

An alleged Israeli airstrike Sunday near Syria’s Quneitra border crossing with Israel that killed six members of Hezbollah also killed six Iranians, a source close to the Lebanese Shiite terror group told AFP on Monday.

“The Israeli strike killed six Iranian soldiers, including commanders, as well as the six members of Hezbollah. They were all in a convoy of three cars,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Iranian general Mohammad Ali Allahdadi was among those killed in the strike, Iranian officials said.

“General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi and a number of fighters and Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) forces were attacked by the Zionist regime’s helicopters,” said a statement on the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps’ (IRGC) website.

“This brave general and some members of Hezbollah were martyred.”

The statement did not name further Iranian nationals among the dead.

According to Israel’s Channel 10 Allahdadi, who had previously commanded Iran’s forces in the country’s Yazd province, had recently been reassigned to Syria to provide support for Shiite militias fighting for President Bashar Assad.

Iran general killed with Hezbollah fighters in Israel raid

Beirut (AFP) – An Israeli strike on Syria killed an Iranian general, Tehran confirmed Monday, as Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement buried one of six of its fighters killed in the same raid.

The Sunday attack, near Quneitra on the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights, enraged Hezbollah’s supporters, but analysts said the group would avoid a major escalation with Israel.

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards confirmed the death of one of their generals in a statement on their website.

“General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi and a number of fighters and Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) forces were attacked by the Zionist regime’s helicopters,” it said.

“This brave general and some members of Hezbollah were martyred.”

A source close to Hezbollah said six Iranians had been killed in the attack. Hezbollah told AFP that it was not the source of that toll.

    • GAZA – Radical Islamists try to storm French center in Gaza

The radical Islamists shout slogans in front of the closed French center in Gaza threatening the lives of staff over Charlie Hebdo cartoons: ‘Leave Gaza, you French, or we will slaughter you by cutting your throats’

GAZA CITY – Some 200 radical Islamists tried to storm the French cultural center in Gaza City on Monday, January 19, shouting slogans threatening the lives of staff over Charlie Hebdo cartoons, an Agence France-Presse photographer said.

“Damnation upon France!” the protesters chanted, waving the black flags adopted by jihadists.

The demonstration was in response to a cartoon published by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo of the Prophet Mohammed, a week after a January 7 attack at its Paris headquarters killed 12 people.

Some of the protesters also carried pictures of the Islamist brothers Cherif and said Kouachi who carried out the attack which was claimed by Al-Qaeda.

“Leave Gaza, you French, or we will slaughter you by cutting your throats,” chanted the protesters.

Palestinian police arrested dozens of people who tried to break into the French cultural center, which has been closed since it was damaged in a fire last October.

Protest graffiti was sprayed outside the center before dawn Saturday, January 17, following Wednesday’s cover cartoon of Prophet Mohammed in Charlie Hebdo.

“You will go to hell, French journalists,” read one of the slogans.

Depictions of the prophet are considered forbidden in Islam and the latest one has sparked angry protests across the Muslim world, some of which turned deadly.

  3. Mogherini Urges EU to Cooperate With Arab Countries to Combat Terrorism

Some ministers emphasized the importance of working with Muslim countries, rather than blaming them for the problem.

Many ministers said no quick solution to the challenge of foreign fighters is likely, and that the real answer is to help end the conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

According to EU foreign chief Mogherini, terrorism is targeting most of all Muslims in the world so Europe and Arab countries need a dialogue to face the issue together.

“I’m having now, just before we start, a meeting with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Mr El Araby, as the threat is not only the one we faced in Paris, but also spreading in many parts of the world, starting with Muslim countries.

According to Mogherini, terrorism is not an issue between Europe or the West and Islam. “Terrorism and terrorist attacks are targeting most of all Muslims in the world so we need an alliance, we need a dialogue there to face the issue together,” she said.
