2. Female TV presenters told they must now wear black abaya robes in Saudi Arabia

(The coloured stripes on the front indicate which station they broadcast for. Kind of like a coloured collar on a show dog. Kinda. Except in dog shows the pups get to show more individuality.)

Female television presenters in Saudi Arabia are being ordered to cover up by wearing the traditional black abaya cloak.

Budoor Ahmad, a presenter with state-owned news station Al Ekhbariya appeared on screen today wearing an abaya with a blue stripe.

The colour of the stripe is expected to be different for each channel.

3. The Two Empires We Must Defeat

Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog

There is a thread that connects many of our conflicts, whether it’s the one against terrorism or the one between the Republican establishment and its conservative insurgency. To win a war, we have to understand the nature of the conflict and how we got there. And that’s often the missing piece.

The left blames imperialism for our conflict with terrorists. And it’s right. Just not in the way that it thinks. Empires may be expansionist, but they’re also tolerant and multicultural.

They have to be, since out of their initial phase they have to enlist the cooperation and services of subjects from a variety of cultures and religions. An empire may initially be fueled by the talents and skills of a core nation, but as it reaches its next phase, it begins sacrificing their interests to the larger structure of empire. The argument between the establishments of the right and the left is over two different kinds of empires.

The Republican establishment in America and its various center-right counterparts abroad have attached themselves to the liberal vision of a transnational empire of international law so much that they have forgotten that this vision came from the left, rather than from the right. […]

4. Islamic jihadist says slavery biggest honor for non-Muslim women

“Female slavery the biggest honour for non-Muslim women, says jihadist,” by Mark Schliebs, The Australian, January 2, 2015 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

AN Australian Islamic State fighter who has been used in a propaganda video has claimed non-Muslim women are “used and abused” and should become slaves as it would be “the biggest honour for them”.

Abu Khalid, whom The Australian last year revealed was a former Melbourne man of Cambodian and Fijian ancestry and had ties to the al-Furqan Islamic centre, yesterday took to social media from the Middle East to make the claims.

  1. 2/ It might be noted that it is a Saudi woman bringing other Saudi women into line. It’s not as simple as men oppressing women in Islam.

    • (b) In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness.

      (c) This average has not varied for 3,000 years. Does it represent ten generations?

      (d) The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:

      The Age of Pioneers (outburst)
      The Age of Conquests
      The Age of Commerce
      The Age of Affluence
      The Age of Intellect
      The Age of Decadence

      (e) Decadence is marked by:

      Defensiveness
      Pessimism
      Materialism
      Frivolity
      An influx of foreigners
      The Welfare State
      A weakening of religion

      (f) Decadence is due to:

Too long a period of wealth and power
      Selfishness
      Love of money
The loss of a sense of duty

    • ‘Neither is decadence physical. The citizens of nations in decline are sometimes described as too physically emasculated to be able to bear hardship or make great efforts. This does not seem to be a true picture. Citizens of great nations in decadence are normally physically larger and stronger than those of their barbarian invaders….

Decadence is a moral and spiritual disease, resulting from too long a period of wealth and power, producing cynicism, decline of religion, pessimism and frivolity. The citizens of such a nation will no longer make an effort to save themselves, because they are not convinced that anything in life is
      worth saving.’

  2. #3 The facts you stated need to be repeated every chance we get, the one world government governed by international law was created by the left to allow a socialist utopia to be created. Utopia doesn’t work and can’t work because it works against human nature, unless the left starts designing the children (as in Brave New World) to be happy as slaves utopia is always doomed.

  3. #1 Uplifting. I look forward to the day when similar festivities are held in Constantinople, Damascus, Alexandria and many many other places currently under occupation.

    • Sweden to Create National Strategy Against Islamophobia

The Swedish Minister said that she will work on the strategy together with the local Muslim communities and find ways to fight Islamophobia by providing people with more information on Islam and combating prejudice.

Swedish government is planning to elaborate a national strategy to counter Islamophobia, the Culture and Democracy Minister Alice Bah Kuhnke said Friday as quoted by the Radio Sweden.

The Swedish Minister said that she will work on the strategy together with the local Muslim communities and find ways to fight Islamophobia by providing people with more [ false ] information on Islam and combating prejudice. “The big problem is that some people have these sets of values which make them prepared to carry out these horrendous deeds. We won’t change that with more window bars, cameras or guards,” Alice Bah Kuhnke said at the Stockholm protest rally against the recent attack at mosques, as quoted by the Swedish media.

Sweden rallies after trio of mosque fire attacks

Thousands of people turned up to anti-racism rallies in Sweden’s major cities on Friday afternoon following three arson attacks on mosques.

The crowds in Stockholm waved placards and listened to speeches from leading figures within the city’s Muslim community as they gathered on the cobbled streets outside the Royal Palace in the Swedish capital’s Old Town, known as Gamla Stan.

The largest banner at the demonstation read: “Don’t touch my mosque”.

Anti-racism campaigner Yasin Ahmed, 43, told The Local he was “surprised and thrilled” that so many people had turned out for the event on a cold January 2nd.

“I came here because I am against the mosque attacks. They are not only attacks on mosques but also against Swedish democracy. I am a Swedish citizen first and I am also a Swedish muslim seeking to protect my rights and to show solidarity with others to deal with this Islamophobia”.

    • Unless the nations that find and board the ships are strong enough to put a crew on board and return the ships to port of origin this tactic will insure that the illegals who survive get into Europe and that is the goal of the Islamists get more Moslems into Europe.

    • They’re sure to escalate. Every clip shows the baby-size coffins in a row from this summer.

It’s the tactic used so successfully against Israel: “telegenic dead-baby” porn.

  4. Top Saudi Mufti: Celebrating Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday Superstition and Heresy

In a surprise fatwa, Saudi Arabia’s top Islamic scholar has urged Muslims to stop staging ceremonies to mark the birthday of the prophet Mohammed , saying such celebrations amount to heresy.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, the Gulf kingdom’s Grand Mufti and head of the seven-man Islamic Scholars Authority, said Muslims had acquired the habit of organizing ceremonies on the eve of the birthday of the prophet Mohammed over the past three centuries and that it had spread to most Arab and Islamic nations.

This habit is a heresy and superstition, which must stop,” the Mufti said in a sermon during Friday’s open air prayers in the Saudi capital Riyadh, according to the official Saudi press agency
