(I am sorry. I just couldn’t resist)

2. Ebola outbreak: Ivory Coast bans flight from three states

Ivory Coast has banned all passenger flights from three countries hit by Ebola in an attempt to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. It is the only country, after Saudi Arabia, to impose such a ban, amid mounting concern about the outbreak which has killed nearly 1,000 people. The ban covers Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, which are worst affected by Ebola, Ivorian officials said.

3. Islamic State beheads, crucifies in push for Syria’s east

(Please note that this is an MSN headline. This doesn’t mean that they no longer carry water for the muslims, but it means they aren’t carrying water for all of them)

BEIRUT (Reuters) – Islamic State has crushed a pocket of resistance to its control in eastern Syria, crucifying two people and executing 23 others in the past five days, a monitoring group said on Monday.

The insurgents, who are also making rapid advances in Iraq, are tightening their grip in Syria, of which they now control roughly a third, mostly rural areas in the north and east.

4. Chaldean Patriarch calls for ARMED RESPONSE to defend Christians from Genocide

Earlier we posted a misquote from our sources. We originally attributed the statement “a professional well-equipped army” to Pope Francis. This quote is correctly attributed to the Chaldean Patriarch, Louis Sako

Pope Francis has joined with Christians facing genocide in Iraq and Syria, calling upon the world to join him in “Prayer and Action’ to bring peace to the troubled region. Calling for international action, he has asked the world to “stop these crimes.”

5. Kosovo police swoop on radical Islamists

Police raided some 60 sites across Kosovo including makeshift mosques […]

“We confiscated long weapons including AK-47s, small calibre weapons, different electronic equipment, ammunition and explosives,” he said.

An estimated 60 raids were carried out cross Kosovo. Among the sites targeted were makeshift mosques which may have been used as recruiting centres, he added.

6. Im nto super clear about what this is yet. Could be an ISIS video on a current attack on a large number of unarmed people who just dont want to be psycho-tards. No graphic violence in the clip though.

Airstrikes in Iraq: What You Need to Know

President Obama has authorized the U.S. military to execute targeted airstrikes in Iraq.

The President takes no decision more seriously than the use of military force. So it’s worth taking a few minutes to make sure you understand exactly what is happening in Iraq right now, who is involved, and why we are taking action. Here are a few answers to some key questions Americans may be asking:

    1. What exactly did the President do? […]
    2. Why are airstrikes needed now?[…]
    3. Why can’t we just evacuate the Americans from Erbil instead of taking military action?[…]
    4. What about the humanitarian mission? Why is that needed?[…]
    5. Will airstrikes be used to protect the Yezidi people on the mountain?[…]
    6. Are we the only ones fighting ISIL?[…]

    7. Is ISIL more dangerous than al-Qaeda right now?

While both are terrorist forces, they have different ambitions. Al-Qaeda’s principal ambition is to launch attacks against the west and U.S. homeland. That’s the direct threat that we have taken direct action against for many years. Right now, ISIL’s primary focus is consolidating territory in the Middle East region to establish their own Islamic State. So they’re different organizations with different objectives.

    8. Are we at war with ISIL? Will we be sending troops back to Iraq?

No. There is no U.S. military solution to the larger situation in Iraq. The United States’ chief goals are to protect our personnel and facilities, and to prevent a potential act of genocide. That is the scope of these operations. As the President said, we will support Iraqis as they take the fight to these terrorists, but no American combat troops will be returning to fight in Iraq.

    9. What’s our plan moving forward? […]
