  1. But again going after this, that or the other individual jihadist leader seems a bit lost at this time.

    Its a bit like calling the world wide jihad produced by the global sunni awakening the “terrorism” of “Al-Qaeda”. We all know the real problem is islam and these people are just orthodox sunni muslims organized in different militia-groups with different leaders. Nothing mysterious about it, really.

    But the West keeps thinking along these lines. If just this “extremist” “terrorist” bad guy is killed or locked up then the bloody campaign towards the caliphate will stop and the muslims will become “moderate” over night and go home and be peaceful citizens in their respective countries.
