POLICE say they will not act against a radical preacher who publicly prayed for the slaughter of Hindus and Buddhists, leaving him free to spread his messages of hatred.

A sermon videotaped in South Australia last year also showed Sheikh Sharif Hussein accusing Australian troops, whom he called “crusader pigs”, of helping to rape tens of thousands of women in Iraq, but SA police say he has broken no laws.

4. Defense Dept Confiscating Apache Helicopters From States, National Guard

(This strikes me as meaningful, if true. Why would the federal government suddenly not wish state governments to have these weapons systems?)

The justification for the reassignment is financial. The selection process of what are the best means through which to achieve meaningful spending cuts needs recalibrating. Perhaps better recognition of the growing dissent within the ranks of the American public has something to do with this decision. Could it be that the federal government is concerned of possible state rebellions?

The Apache is a four-blade, twin-engine attack helicopter with a tail wheel-type landing gear arrangement, and a tandem cockpit for a two-man crew. It features a nose-mounted sensor suite for target acquisition and night vision systems. It is armed with a 30 mm (1.18 in) M230 Chain Gun carried between the main landing gear, under the aircraft’s forward fuselage. It has four hard points mounted on stub-wing pylons, typically carrying a mixture of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods. The AH-64 has a large amount of systems redundancy to improve combat survivability.

5. Even casual use of cannabis alters brain, warn scientists

(I know this is way off topic. But I believe it is very very important. I remember as a kid watching the horrible film, ‘Reefer Madness’ at a midnight show and saying to my stoner friends at the time, ‘The problem with this movie is, because what they say about dope is obviously untrue, people will think that all claims on possible consequences from smoking weed is untrue”.)

Smoking marijuana once or twice a week for a matter of months found to have effects on the brain in sections that govern emotion, motivation and addiction

Experimenting with cannabis on a casual basis damages the brain permanently, research has found.

It is far from being a “safe” drug and no one under the age of 30 should ever use it, experts said.

People who had only used cannabis once or twice a week for a matter of months were found to have changes in the brain that govern emotion, motivation and addiction.

Researchers from Harvard Medical School in America carried out detailed 3D scans on the brains of students who used cannabis casually and were not addicted and compared them with those who had never used it.

A large thank you to Fjordman and all who sent in material.

I hate dope. Even in my drug-taking days I didn’t like it. I’d snort other things, but I always found marijuana to be boring. I’d smoke it myself though just to fit in (I was a Marxist in those days, now you can see why – it must have rotted my brain).
Dope-smokers are monotonous, self-righteous windbags who sit around in a circle passing a joint round and talking utter crap. They think they understand the profound meaning as to how the World works, which is why most of them are Leftists, but in reality they know jack shit about fuck all!

  2. Hello there…..its me again……..Don Laird

    On the marijuana issue.

I only have to look at a few acquaintances who are regular dope smokers. I hate to put it this way but they are complete fucking idiots and have trouble stringing two sentences together much less participate in a lively debate on some political or historical substance.

But get a few folks together in a bistro or by a campfire, throw in some delicious snacks and a few bottle of wine with a little or a lot of brandy…….and presto!!!

  3. Wolf ….WOLF …..WOLF!!!!!11…. Cried the folks who promised us all a nice set of t*ts for smoking weed back in the day. They lied then, they lie now. Seriously, what piece of agenda driven science can be believed today? Global warming? Heh!

  4. @BL@KBIRD

I actually know a guy who has gynecomastia from smoking weed. Seriously, if it wasn’t for the hairy chest, you’d think he had a cracking pair of knockers on him, and they’re not just man boobs caused by being two fat, even the nipples are like a woman’s. It caused him so much embarrassment that he couldn’t go bare chested in summer.
We know that it was from the dope because as soon as he stopped smoking it, his testosterone went back up again, when he started smoking it again (he was unconvinced that was the cause) his testosterone fell again.
Eventually he found a girl who didn’t mind his tits, got married and they now have a baby daughter. I wanted to ask him if he’d breast-fed her, but I don’t think he would have appreciated the joke.

  5. Stop it Bob!!!!!

Stop it right this minute!!!!….you’re making me queasy!!!

    Man-tits????!!!!….Jesus H. Christ!!!!

  6. Sorry, I’d just like to add that my friend doesn’t smoke weed any more – if he did he’d probably look like Dolly Parton by now!

  7. The real question about marijuana is not does marijuana cause some “problems”. I am willing to admit that “some problems” can be associated with marijuana use.

But the real question is how can society minimize the negative social impact of marijuana on society?

The British “Indian Hemp Commission” in 1894 and the American “President’s Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse” in 1971 along with dozens of other studies have all said the same thing – the use of marijuana has little overall impact on society and that marijuana should be decriminalized.

In the early 1970’s just after the President’s Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse was published, the US set out on it’s ill fated “war on drugs”. And what did we get for the effort? Over 40 years of violent efforts to stop people from doing what they want, the highest incarceration rates in the world, drug gangs, racial divide, corrupt government, drive by shootings and more.

Yes – marijuana may have some social consequences – but the blunt ax of government control has proven to be much worse than the original problem.

The 1969 Woodstock Music festival (before the war on drugs) attracted nearly a half a million young people. For three days, in horrid weather conditions and with way too much drugs everyone got by without any reported acts of violence.

The next time you think the solution to marijuana is the heavy hand of government, remember – there weren’t any “drive by’s” at Woodstock.

#4 this sounds like something Obama would do, he is afraid of all weapons that aren’t under his control.

  11. Here is the point re Sheik Husein. Even though he may not have broken any law, the law should be changed to the effect that radical islamists (which is what this person is–publicly and proudly) should be deported. There is no reason to bring into our country individuals who hate us and our way of life. Like….duh..

  12. Don’t get too excited about the marijuana paper just yet. It seems the esteemed authors were misquoted by the press as is usual for any journalistic coverage of medical news. Correlation isn’t causation and it’s possible that pot smokers with the reported differences in brain structure were different to begin with whether they smoked pot or not. Maybe these structural abnormalities predispose some individuals to experiment with drugs. The authors of the original paper were careful to point this out. How ethical would it be to ask people to start smoking pot so scientists could track structural changes in the brain? I guess we could hang out at Disney studios since most of those kids eventually get screwed up anyway….
    Anyway see this article:

I’m not defending pot use in any way either.

  13. No one is saying that any vice is good for you. That’s not the point. The point is that the prohibition against marijuana, like the prohibition against alcohol, does nothing to curb substance abuse while it does create the perfect environment for the growth of organized crime and gang activity. The war on marijuana is unenforceable because half the population does not endorse the prohibition – just like in the ’20s with booze. All it does is turn half the population into criminals who don’t trust cops.

That’s the point. Nobody is saying that vice is the healthy lifestyle choice. Pointing out that smoking pot is bad for you is a straw man argument. Drinking and smoking and gambling and going to hookers and cussin’ and fightin’ are all bad for you, but they all happen in great abundance every night of the week and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. Unpopular prohibitions don’t work and they create gangs. Get that!
