(And before you ask, no, his name isn’t ‘Mohamed Tardski’. It’s Doku Umarov)

Russian secret services have confirmed the killing of their ‘most wanted’ man, the Islamic terrorist leader and Chechen warlord Doku Umarov.

Umarov, who was once dubbed ‘Russia’s Bin Laden’, was ‘neutralised’ in a ‘combat operation’ which left dozens of terrorists dead, according to the country’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced.

A website sympathetic to the Islamic insurgency in the North Caucasus had reported that Umarov had been killed on March 18, but Moscow had not previously confirmed the report, until today.

3. Palestinian envoy to Prague killed by his own booby trapped book full of Semtex.

(Reuters) – The Palestinian ambassador to Prague who died in a blast in January was most likely killed by a decades-old charge of Semtex plastic explosive concealed in a book, a newspaper reported on Tuesday citing a police investigator.

Police had decided Jamal al-Jamal was not assassinated, but had simply unwittingly opening a book booby-trapped years earlier, the source told daily newspaper Mlada Fronta Dnes.

“It was an unfortunate accident. The ambassador was a thorough man who wanted to put some old things in order, and among them there were two books with explosives,” the paper quoted the source as saying.

It did not explain why such a book might have been left at the embassy in Prague.

4. Secret USA training camp in Jordan for Syrian fighters.

Fighter A aims his AK47 in Daraa

“I do not want to mention my name,” says a 20-year-old FSA fighter, “because the camp we practiced in was highly classified.”

So classified, in fact, that the CIA – who are rumoured to be running the camp (but declined to comment for this article) – still won’t acknowledge it exists.

For nearly a year, rumours have swirled about a covert, US-run training camp for FSA fighters in the vast Jordanian desert. (Jordanian intelligence also did not respond to requests for comment on this article.) And, last week, it was reported that the Obama administration appears to be expanding “its covert programme of training and assistance for the Syrian opposition”. However, despite all this speculation, little is known about how this supposed Jordanian camp works, who trains there and what tactics they learn.

  1. Spain arrests four accused of attempting to export equipment to Iran (CNN, Apr 8, 2014)

“An Iranian and three Spaniards who secretly tried to export to Iran industrial equipment that could be used to make missile parts or enrich uranium have been arrested in Spain, the Civil Guard said Monday in a statement.

The European Union and the United States ban the export to Iran of certain dual-use machinery and technology that could be used to aid Iran’s military program.

The four suspects were arrested April 1. The Iranian man, 47, was detained in Palma de Mallorca on Spain’s Balearic Islands, and a judge remanded him to prison April 3 on suspicion of contraband in dual-use material, belonging to a criminal organization and money laundering, said a Civil Guard captain with the intelligence division, who spoke on condition of not being identified.

The three Spaniards are from the same family. The father, in his 70s, and a son, in his 40s, were arrested in Tarragona, in eastern Spain. A daughter, in her 40s, was arrested in nearby Barcelona. They face the same preliminary charges, but the judge released them on the condition that they do not leave Spain and report regularly to authorities, the captain said.

The charges carry potential prison terms of about 10 years, he said….”

  3. Russia to ban [ Muslim terrorist organization ] Hizb ut-Tahrir in Crimea

Crimea’s deputy prime minister Rustam Temirgaliyev has revealed that the political Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir will be banned in the peninsula in accordance with Russian law after the Crimea was annexed by Russia.

‘This organization is banned in Russia and should therefore be banned in Crimea as well,’ he said.

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been active in Crimea for a decade, where it has held many conferences and even publishes a newspaper.

Noting that the organization doesn’t have much of an influence over the Muslim Crimean Tatars in the mainly Russian populated peninsula, Temirgaliyev said he believes the few Tatars in the group will now leave it.

  4. Russia is going the right way – eliminating Jihadis, banning hizb this and that, discouraging homosexual propaganda in schools.

For some reason, America is going the other way – supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, supporting al Qaeda and other fanatic Jihadis who consider al Qaeda moderate, and supporting neo-Nazis in Ukraine. Whats up?

  5. Obama is going to keep training terrorist groups until he is out of office, and he will take weapons away from the US military to arm them.
