1. France’s government resigns en masse (but Hollande’s clinging on): Failing socialist policies blamed for elections rout

France’s socialist prime minister resigned along with his entire government yesterday following a meltdown in local elections.

Jean-Marc Ayrault admitted that a huge swing to the Right, including to the extremist National Front, was down to him and his Left-wing government.

And last night socialist President Francois Hollande – whose rule has become synonymous with a 75 per cent top rate of income tax – admitted to mistakes and said his priority was now to cut taxes.

(As I have never met an honest, or non utterly-hypocritical, socialist I would be reluctant to accept his new priority as genuine)

2. Greece: Golden Dawn rally in immigrant-rich Athens district

3. UK: Whittington Hospital figures reveal almost 400 cases of female genital mutilation locally

4. Borough of Tower Hamlets: a byword for sleaze

It has become part of the spoils in a rather more sinister redistribution of wealth by Britain’s most disturbing local authority. In behaviour described by one councillor as “out of control” and smacks of the days of Shirley Porter, a directly elected mayor with close links to Islamic extremism appears to be abusing public money and council assets to reward his supporters and, in the words of the local MP, Jim Fitzpatrick, to “buy his re-election this May”.

“It is going on under our noses in the heart of the capital city and no one is doing a thing about it,” says Peter Golds, the leader of the opposition in Tower Hamlets. “The authorities — the Government, the Electoral Commission — seem paralysed. This is a test for us all about whether democracy can be bought.”

5. North, South Korea exchange fire across disputed western sea border

(This seems a trifle more confrontational than is even usual for North Korea. Video at link)

North Korea fired 500 rounds of artillery shells over more than three hours, about 100 of which fell south of the sea boundary, South Korean Defense Ministry spokesman Kim Min-seok said later Monday. South Korea responded by firing 300 shells into North Korean waters, he said.

6. The Ebola outbreak that has killed 78 people in Guinea is “unprecedented”, a medical charity has said.

(Personally I think that those who think they may be infected should immediately go to the closest mosque and commence group arse-lifting and pray to allah to cure you)

Thank you ML, M, Fjordman, LenaN, and all who sent material in. And here I thought it was gonna be a slow day

  1. REGARDING THE EBOLA STORY…….I SENT THE TEXT BELOW A WEEK AGO WHEN THE DEATH TOLL WAS AT 59, NOW ITS RISING………..

WITH A FUN, FUN QUESTIONNAIRE AT THE END OF MY RANT WITH ONLY ONE FUN, FUN QUESTION TO ANSWER…..THE ANSWER TO WHICH SHOULD KEEP A FEW PEOPLE AWAKE ALL NIGHT LONG……

    MY RANT:……….

    Hello there…..its me again…….Don Laird…

    Excuse my profanity………and my caps….

BUT THIS IS WHY WE HAVE FUCKING BORDERS!!!!!

59 dead and the death toll is climbing by the hour.

This is the latest in a rash of outbreaks in these Ebola hotspots including countries like Uganda, Liberia and Sierra Leone, just to name a few.

If this ever got off the hook in North America or Europe it has the potential to kill millions. FACT.

I have a few questions for all my hypocritical socialist/liberal/leftist hand-wringing, politically correct peddlers of multiculturalism who screech slogans like “NO BORDERS”!!!!……and “NO ONE IS ILLEGAL”!!!!

Have you ever seen the agony of a person dying of hemorrhagic fever?

Have you ever read the statistics of the speed at which hemorrhagic fever would spread if an outbreak occurred in North America or Europe???

Have you read of the estimated death toll should hemorrhagic fever truly slip its leash in North America and Europe?

I want you to think of your wife or husband or children laying in a bed dying from a case of hemorragic fever, delerious with 106 degree fever, body burning up, bleeding uncontrollably from the eyes, the anus and the vagina…….and you stand there utterly helpless, alone save for your wretched Leftist dogma and your infinite liberal hypocrisy.

Then, after an agonizing death, when they wrap the body in a haz-mat bag, you’re aren’t even able to say goodbye due to the risk of contagion, and then they roll the corpse away to be cremated. and there you are, still alone, with ashes and your empty dogma.

I wonder, after all of that, if….when one of those “illegals”, those “international tourists”, those “opportunistic travelers who presence adds another cutesy warm color to the global multicolored coat of diversity” climbs a fence and tries to enter your country illegally, would you raise a rifle, fire a warning shot in the air and then lower your aim, place the sights on the “travelers” forehead and scream……”ONE MORE STEP AND I’M GOING TO SEND YOU HOME”!!!!!….and then when that step was taken, have the resolve to protect your own life, the lives of your family, friends, neighbors and countrymen…..and pull the trigger.?

    Well…..what would you do?

  2. Tower Hamlets:….If there was true equality in the UK, the government department responsible for local authorities ought to ask themselves….”What action would we take if the mayor of Tower Hamlets was an Englishman”? And then do it.

Golden Dawn:….The rise of patriotic political parties throughout Europe is the result of the left-wing EU failing to recognise the inbuilt human condition of the sense of belonging. Why the left should think they have the ability to change human nature is beyond parody.

Ebola:….I’m with Don Laird on this one. It is only a matter of time before it enters the western world.

  3. Afghanistan attacks leave 18 dead ahead of polls (BBC, March 31, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-26825794

“Eighteen people have been killed in a series of attacks in Afghanistan, officials say, as it prepares for presidential and provincial elections.

In the northern province of Kunduz, eight family members of a local anti-Taliban commander died in an ambush.

Elsewhere, six members of two different campaign teams and a police officer were killed in bomb attacks.

Taliban militants, who have vowed to disrupt Saturday’s polls, have been blamed for a recent surge in violence….”

  4. Killed Palestinian envoy ‘mishandled explosive’, police say (BBC, March 31, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26824070

“Czech police investigating the death of a Palestinian envoy have said he was most likely killed by “mishandling” an explosive.

Ambassador Jamal al-Jamal died in a blast at the Palestinian Embassy in the capital, Prague, on 1 January.

Police initially thought that Mr Jamal might have triggered a booby-trapped safe inside the complex.

But tests carried out by investigators suggest that he was holding an explosive in his hand when it went off.

The ambassador’s death is being investigated as a case of negligence.

“The explosive was not placed on the door or inside the safe and was not there to protect the safe,” police spokeswoman Andrea Zoulova said.

She said that “mishandling remains the most likely option”, and confirmed that an experimental blast conducted by experts had supported this theory…”

  5. David Cameron orders review of Muslim Brotherhood (BBC, April 1, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-26830284

“Prime Minister David Cameron has commissioned a review of the Muslim Brotherhood’s UK activity, No 10 says.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an Egyptian political organisation, which Cairo has declared a terrorist group.

Recent press reports have suggested members have moved to London to escape the crackdown in Egypt, where the group backs ousted president Mohammed Morsi.

Number 10 said the review would examine the group’s philosophy and activities, and the government’s policy towards it….”

  6. #1

I’ve also never, ever, ever heard a leftist admit to being wrong about anything. Like, why won’t any leftist admit that banning DDT was a huge mistake that cost the lives of millions of African children? Why won’t they admit that their mindless “peace movement” caused the good guys to ignore the rise of Adolf Hitler and, through their lack of action, allowed World War II to happen? Leftists are incapable of learning; they just keep fighting for the same collectivist utopia that they seem to crave…no matter how obviously wrong they are.

  7. Here comes the OTTOMAN SLAP! Figuratively and literally, too.

Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan declares victory after local elections (CNN, April 1, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/30/world/europe/turkey-elections/index.html

“Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan dominated debates leading up to Sunday’s local elections, even though he wasn’t on the ballot.

Even before results were announced, a triumphant Erdogan spoke to cheering supporters from the balcony of the headquarters of his ruling Justice and Development Party, calling the vote a victory for democracy in Turkey.

Erdogan said he delivered an “Ottoman slap” to opponents at the polls. He compared his opponents to medieval assassins, and he vowed to pursue them….”

  8. #1 I will believe it when I see it.

Arthur English the left has always worked against human nature, and the useful idiots of the world always believe that they can make people change from what makes us human.

  9. Before, during, and after the over-hyped outbreak of “Novel Swine-Origin Influenza A (H1N1) Virus” (2008-09), I thought the CDC’s performance was impressive. They landed in force on every one of our hospitals here.

Staggering – and plenty scary – draconian quarantine protocols could kick-in faster than you could say, “I’m not sick,” or, “Please don’t take me to the pest house!”

Mind you, these are tertiary referral centers, so preparedness might differ significantly from that at community facilities, but I’ve seen superlative work done by the CDC in the past.

But don’t put that rifle away.

This administration might’ve blighted our public health infrastructure just as he’s done to the military. And the National Guard would be crucial in the event of a major pandemic. Who wants to be in the National Guard today?

Who knows what the TSA will do when an “Asian” drooling blood staggers into Logan Airport? Can’t be long before such biohazard descends on us for real.

  11. Hi Don,

I could not go to the website linked because the mobile phone company demand I an over 18.

How they determined this site having immature adult content I do not know, (with adult-retard specific content that they are compelled to share with one another), but rather than filter and squash the site, they want to know if my body has aged and in doing so to tell them about myself.

As I respect my own privacy as I respect other’s right to privacy, I will forgo my freedom and suffer the inconvenience. A shop assistant just has to look at me, or else asked for ID I will walk away leaving the shopping behind.

Being the government’s police, is not what a society should be. My children know what is right and wrong. They police themselves, and know crap is crap. I expect adults to protect them and alert them if doing stupid is dangerously stupid. The idea “you can’t tell me wot to do” is a socialist meme. Their ‘Your children do not belong to you’ will become ‘your body does not belong to you’. You own your children until they are able to own themselves, never the state.

So, to prove to a company that just provide telecommunications about what I can and cannot see is galling, and will one day be a government central database of Approved Criminal Records Check of Internet Users. You couldn’t make it up.

  12. @Perfectchild…..

  13. I always thought the modern plagues would be caused by bio war, not natural causes.

  14. Who said this Ebola variant with a 95% kill rate was natural? Wasn’t Al-Qaeda working on a weaponized version of Ebola? I think I read that a year or so ago when a bunch of them died while working on weaponizing the plague bacteria.

  15. More than you want to know about Ebola:

Outbreak of Ebola in Guinea and Liberia
-As of March 31, 2014, the Guinea Ministry of Health announced a total of 122 suspect and confirmed cases of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever, including 80 deaths […]

-24 cases in GUINEA have been confirmed by laboratory testing at the Institut Pasteur in Lyon, France and the Institut Pasteur team in Conakry, Guinea, to be positive for Ebola virus infection.

-The Ministry of Health in LIBERIA reports 8 suspect cases including 2 laboratory-confirmed […].

-Genetic analysis of the virus indicates that it is most closely related (98% match) to Ebola virus (species Zaire ebolavirus) last reported in 2009 in the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO.

-The Guinean Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of Liberia are working with national and international partners to investigate and respond to the outbreak.

  17. The scary thing about this outbreak it the way it is spreading, normally Ebola is so hot it kills the suffers before they can infect many people, in other words it is usually self containing. The speed it is spreading says this one is different in some way.

  18. I’ve become your resident expert. Journal searched for hours. WHO and CDC are excited because this looks the same but may be changing. Probably not, though.

Anyway it’s given scientists a new toy.
