  1. Turkey blocks YouTube days after Twitter crackdown (CNN, March 27, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/27/world/europe/turkey-youtube-blocked/index.html

“The Turkish government banned YouTube on Thursday, less than a week after Ankara made a similar blackout of the social networking site Twitter, which is estimated to have more than 10 million Turkish users.

Neither website can be reached on Turkish Internet networks.

The crackdown comes just days before Turks are expected to go to the polls in nationwide municipal elections.

The Turkish government said its YouTube block came as a response to the leak of a conversation between top government officials purportedly discussing the possibility of going to war with neighboring Syria.

Turkey’s top media regulating agency announced a similar ban on the broadcast of the conversation to television and radio channels….”

  2. If the current immigration policies endure, it will be impossible to be openly Jewish in any country in the world. Is that what we want?

We are letting thousands-upon-thousands of “Maghrebi” people into Canada right this very minute, so we can expect to see lots of this kind of thing in the future in this country. Why does our government want us to be attacked by enemies who hate us like cancer? Why are they letting these people in? Why does Stephen Harper desire to see Boko Haram active in Canada?

  3. I am appalled by this despicable, anti-Semitic attack on a man walking home from a restaurant.

I see no evidence to doubt this gentleman’s account, in which case it is sadly characteristic of the current state of Paris and many other major cities of continental Europe.

  4. Nigeria’s Boko Haram insurgency ‘affects millions’ (BBC, March 26, 2014)

“More than three million people are facing a humanitarian crisis in three northern Nigerian states hit by an Islamist-led insurgency, the government’s relief agency has said.

The conflict has displaced about 250,000 people since January, it added.

President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in the three states last year to crush the insurgency.

However, the militant Islamist group Boko Haram has stepped up attacks in recent months.

The group operates mostly in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, where the state of emergency is in force….”

  5. 2 car bombs hit Iraqi Sunni neighborhoods (CNN, March 27, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/27/world/meast/iraq-violence/index.html

“Two car bombs exploded in separate locations in Baghdad Thursday, killing six people and wounding 19 others, police officials told CNN. Police say the first attack was in al-Amriya in western Baghdad, and the second in al-Adhamiya in northeastern Baghdad. Both al-Amriya and al-Adhamiya are predominantly Sunni neighborhoods.”
