Muslim employees at Minneapolis City Hall recently declared “Hijab Day” in the workplace and convinced non-Muslim co-workers to don the Muslim head covering, including the city’s police chief, Janeé Harteau, who is well known as a homosexual.

Female Muslim employees at the government building declared February 28 to be “Hijab Day” then systematically convinced nearly every female employee at work to don the traditional headwear to pose for pictures which were later posted to Facebook.

5. The Fascist Danger in Ukraine. Resurgence of Neo-Nazism Denied by Western Media

UkraineFascists

A politically sinister propaganda offensive is underway in the media to either deny the involvement of fascists in the US-backed coup in Ukraine or present their role as a marginal and insignificant detail.

The New York Times, for example, asserted, “Putin’s claim of an immediate threat to Ukrainian Russians is empty,” while Britain’s Guardian dismissed as a “fancy” claims that events in Crimea were an attempt to “prevent attacks by bands of revolutionary fascists,” adding that “the world’s media has [not] yet seen or heard from” such forces.

This is an obscene cover-up.

  1. Samantha power is an extremely nasty piece of work. And she’s married to another toe-rag, Cass Sunstein, a leftist Ivy League academic who believes that freedom of speech is an anachronism that should be abolished. Well, it seems they’re working on that.

With respect to the Crimea, that is done, over, finished. It is now part of Russia again, and that is not changing, short of a full land invasion by western forces, which will never, ever happen. The result of the referendum is known, and all that’s left now is to cast the votes.

The only remaining question is how much more of the Ukraine will the Russians take? With their military massing at the borders, it’s looks as if they’re in the mood for a party. Putin knows he can pretty much do as he wants, now. China will back him up. I can hear the Russians and Chinese laughing and clinking glasses together.

  3. Saudi demands Qatar shut down Al Jazeera

Saudi Arabia demanded that Qatar shut down Al Jazeera and two think tanks during a recent meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a source close to someone who attended the talks told AFP Friday.

Riyadh demanded the closure of the pan-Arab broadcaster as well as the Brookings Doha Center and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, the source said on condition of anonymity.

After the reportedly heated March 5 GCC meeting, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates recalled their ambassadors from fellow member Qatar, which they accuse of interfering in their internal affairs and supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

The source said Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal had demanded three things of Doha — “to close the (Qatari-owned) Al Jazeera network, which stirs sedition; close the research centres in Doha, and turn over all outlaws” on its territory.

Doha’s foreign minister replied that the demand constituted “interference in Qatar’s internal affairs,” the same source said.

Gulf officials do not usually comment on closed-door meetings.

Qatar is seen as a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates across the region, which are banned in most Gulf states.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf monarchies have long been hostile toward the Brotherhood, fearing that its brand of grass-roots activism and political Islam could undermine their authority.

Saudi Arabia and the other two states accused Doha of giving refuge to opposition figures and of even giving some of them citizenship.

Critics have long accused the influential pan-Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera of biased coverage in favour of the Brotherhood, and several of its journalists are on trial in Egypt for allegedly supporting the group.

Most Gulf states hailed Egypt’s ouster of president Mohamed Morsi — a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood — and pledged billions in aid. Qatar, which had strongly supported him, has seen its influence in Cairo evaporate.

The Gulf Cooperation Council includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman.

  5. Jordan protesters want peace treaty with Israel annulled

Around 1,000 people demonstrated Friday near the Israeli embassy in Amman to protest the killing of a Jordanian judge by Israeli soldiers, demanding a peace deal between the countries be annulled.

Israeli troops shot 38-year-old Raed Zeiter, a Palestinian-Jordanian, at a border crossing on Monday, saying he attacked them and igniting a diplomatic row between Israel and Jordan.

Opposition Islamists, youth groups, leftists and nationalists took part in the demonstration that started after Friday prayers in Kaluti mosque, near the Israeli embassy in the Rabia neighbourhood in West Amman.

Amid tight security, protesters waved Jordanian flags and banners reading “the people want to cancel the (1994) peace treaty,” and “shut down the Zionist entity’s embassy and kick the ambassador out for the sake of the martyr’s blood.”

“Hundreds of militants have staged a multi-pronged attack on the northern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, witnesses say.

The militants failed in an attempt to free colleagues held in the barracks, an army spokesman said.

Militants suspected to be from Boko Haram have killed 500 people this year.

Local residents say there was a heavy exchange of fire near Giwa barracks, as the military tried to fight off the insurgents.

The air force was deployed and some suspected Boko Haram fighters were killed as they fled across a dry river bed behind the barracks.

“They set many houses on fire and killed innocent people,” local resident Jamila Yusuf told Nigeria’s Daily Trust newspaper….”

He was reportedly killed earlier this month along with other militants.

France began a military intervention in January 2013 after Islamists took control of the north of Mali.
