1. Kids in Syria memorizing Koran

2. Australia: Child brides have nothing to do with Islam, apart from the fact they do

Do I believe Eman Sharobeem?

There are at least 60 child brides living in south-western Sydney, and many more girls are destined to be forced into under-age marriage, according to the head of a women’s health centre…

Dr Sharobeem, who is the manager of the Immigrant Women’s Health Service in Fairfield, said under-age marriage was carried out by many cultures across Asia, India and the Middle East and had nothing to do with religion.

Or do I believe Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia?:

Not to worry. We have something the world does not have – elite GLBT SAS and SEAL units that will kick or “do something” worse arse units.

  2. Pathetic. I can’t think of anything else which would “demoralize” an army unit more.

  3. TUNISIA – Rap song instead of Azan in Tunisia mosque

A curious incident occurred in Montplaisir quarter, adjacent to the center of the Tunisian capital on Friday. Instead of the call of muezzin (Azan) the worshippers heard the words of a song of popular singer.

The song, which was a mixture of reggae and rap, lasted about half a minute, but attracted the attention of passersby. Believers, who gathered to perform Friday prayers, were also surprised when hearing the words of the song instead of the Azan.

Ministry of Religious Affairs stressed that it was happened because of technical problems.

US embassy slammed on social media

The US embassy in China said on social media that it condemned the “terrible and senseless act of violence in Kunming” and expressed condolences to those affected by what it called a “tragedy”.

In response, thousands of Chinese Internet users have slammed the US for refusing to follow China in defining the stabbing spree as a terrorist attack, comparing the knifings to last year’s bombing of the Boston Marathon as well as to the September 11 attacks.

“Would Americans say the same thing about similar attacks on their own territory?” Ma Xiaolin, a website administrator, asked in a comment on Sina Weibo, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter.

  6. Pierre Omidyar co-funded Ukraine revolution groups with US government, documents show

[…]the American government – in the form of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) – played a major role in funding opposition groups prior to the revolution. Moreover, a large percentage of the rest of the funding to those same groups came from a US billionaire who has previously worked closely with US government agencies to further his own business interests. This was by no means a US-backed “coup,” but clear evidence shows that US investment was a force multiplier for many of the groups involved in overthrowing Yanukovych.

[…]Pierre Omidyar[…]the founder and publisher of Glenn Greenwald’s government-bashing blog,“The Intercept,” co-invested with the US government to help fund regime change in Ukraine.

[…]forced and under-age marriages would not stop until immigrants received education the moment that they stepped onto Australian soil. If they were not educated about Australian values and laws, new arrivals would continue to be taught by already settled communities who encouraged the illegal and archaic practice

[…] immigrants came to Australia with zero information, but were quickly taught not to allow their women to integrate.

”I’ve heard men with my own ears shouting [to new arrivals]: ‘This country is about supporting women. It is our rule as head of the family to keep the women away from the bad influence of the country and not let them learn English.’ ”

One woman recently came to her in tears and said her husband, who was still awaiting clearance in the detention centre, threatened to kill her if she learnt English or went out of the house without him.

  10. USA – Washington – Netanyahu to Abbas: ‘Recognize the Jewish State’

    Associated Press

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling on the Palestinian leader to recognize Israel as a Jewish state to prove that he is truly prepared to end the conflict between the two sides.

Speaking Tuesday in Washington, Netanyahu issued a message to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that he needs to recognize the Jewish state with “no excuses, no delays.”

Netanyahu says he hopes a peace deal can be reached, but that if one is achieved, it will almost certainly come under attack by Hezbollah, Hamas, al-Qaida and other militant groups.

He says that while international peacekeepers can help ensure Israel’s security going forward — only the Israeli army can defend its homeland.

Netanyahu also reiterated his disbelief about Iran’s claim that it is not trying to develop a nuclear weapon.

UK REUTERS – Netanyahu warns on Iran, urges no Palestinian ‘excuses’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned world powers on Tuesday not to allow Iran to retain the ability to enrich uranium, and urged Palestinians to recognise Israel as a Jewish state if they wanted peace.

Addressing the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC in Washington after White House talks on Monday, Netanyahu broke no new ground on Middle East issues that have at times strained his government’s ties with the U.S. administration.

Netanyahu reiterated his opposition to the possibility that a deal to curb Iran’s disputed nuclear programme would allow it to retain some technologies that have bomb-making potential.

All of these must be dismantled, Netanyahu said, adding that diplomatic pressure on Tehran should be increased – the reverse of easing of sanctions offered under an interim accord with the United States and five other world powers in November.

[…]Turning to the Palestinians, with whom Israel renewed peace talks last July under U.S. auspices, Netanyahu said he wanted an accord. However, he placed the onus on the Palestinians to recognise Israel as a Jewish state – something they have long balked at.

“But it’s time the Palestinians stop denying history. Just as Israel is prepared to recognise a Palestinian state, the Palestinians must be prepared to recognise a Jewish state,” Netanyahu said.

[…]Netanyahu’s combative remarks came a day after White House talks in which he bluntly told President Barack Obama that he would never compromise on Israel’s security even as the U.S. leader sought to reassure him on Iran nuclear diplomacy and pressure him on Middle East peace talks.

  11. RUSSIA – UKRAINE – Putin Adviser Urges Dumping US Bonds In Reaction to Sanctions

MOSCOW, March 4 (RIA Novosti) – An adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that authorities would issue general advice to dump US government bonds in the event of Russian companies and individuals being targeted by sanctions over events in Ukraine.

Sergei Glazyev said the United States would be the first to suffer in the event of any sanctions regime.

“The Americans are threatening Russia with sanctions and pulling the EU into a trade and economic war with Russia,” Glazyev said. “Most of the sanctions against Russia will bring harm to the United States itself, because as far as trade relations with the United States go, we don’t depend on them in any way.”

Glazyev noted that Russia is a creditor to the United States.

“We hold a decent amount of treasury bonds – more than $200 billion – and if the United States dares to freeze accounts of Russian businesses and citizens, we can no longer view America as a reliable partner,” he said. “We will encourage everybody to dump US Treasury bonds, get rid of dollars as an unreliable currency and leave the US market.”

Drag queens are not honored in Iran or in Yemen, let alone Africa.

Being a soldier is not necessarily a death sentence. But if the culture you face as an adversary hates you personally, your chances are even worse.
