Sovereignty, the Dome of the Rock, and one Israeli elected representative, Moshe Feiglin

Article by CB Sashenka:

The area known as the Temple Mount at the top of Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, was the site where the First Jewish Temple was built over 3,000 years ago (957 BC) by King David’s son King Solomon. King David made Jerusalem the capital of Israel in 1003 BC. The Temple was destroyed in 586 BC by the Babylonians, was rebuilt in 516 BC, and destroyed again in 70 AD by the Romans.

Since 70 AD, the first mass Jewish pilgrimage near the mount was allowed to take place after the Six-Day War in 1967 (a war that Israel fought in self-defense and won against the neighbouring states of Egypt, Syria and Jordan, all preparing to obliterate Israel), when Israel took back its holiest site, the 36-acre Temple Mount in East Jerusalem (Israel’s ancient capital) from Jordan. Not only did Israel allow Muslims to worship there (as opposed to the Muslims who forbade Jews to worship there when the Temple Mount was under Muslim control), but then-Israeli Defense Minister Dayan entrusted administrative control of the Temple Mount to the Jordanian Waqf (the Islamic authority in Jerusalem). Overall security control of the area was maintained by Israel.

In the First and Second Jewish Temples, the holiest spot was the “Holy of Holies”, built around the “Foundation Stone” where the binding of Isaac by Abraham to sacrifice him to God, and other religious events in Judaism, were believed to have taken place. This is where the Ark of the Convenant (containing the 10 Commandments) was placed in the First Temple.

Over the centuries, Muslims who eventually took control of Christian Jerusalem (and who neither made Jerusalem a capital of a Muslim area nor a province of a Muslim empire) built a shrine, the gold-topped Dome of the Rock in 691 AD, less than 60 years after Mohammed’s death, on the site where Solomon’s Temple once stood, over the Holy of Holies. The Al Aqsa mosque was also built (705 AD) on the Temple Mount.

It is a common Islamic custom to build mosques on the sites of other people’s sacred places after being conquered, in order to emphasize the superiority of Islam over other religions, and to give the city an Islamic identity. Many churches, synagogues, and Hindu, Buddhist and Zoroastrian temples have been converted into mosques.

The fact that The Dome of the Rock was built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount and over the Holy of Holies, asserts that Islam has replaced Judaism. And the 600-foot inscription in the dome that consists of several koranic passages challenging the Christian belief in the trinity and the divinity of Christ, asserts that Islam has also replaced Christianity:

“People of the Book (the Bible), overstep not bounds in your religion and of God, speak only truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, is only an apostle of God and His word which He conveyed to Mary and a Spirit proceeding from Him. Believe therefore in God and his apostles and say not ‘Three.’ It will be better for you. God is only one God. Far be it from His glory that He should have a son. His is whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And God is a sufficient Guardian. The Messiah does not disdain being a servant of God nor do the angels who are near Him. And all who disdain His service are filled with pride. God will gather them all to Himself” (64:1, 33:54, 4:169-171).

Part of one of the verses inscribed says: “the true religion of God is with Islam” (3:16-17).

Around three years ago, the Dome of the Rock area became inaccessible to non-Muslims. And the Israeli government currently enforces a ban on non-Muslim prayer on the Temple Mount to accommodate Islam. Non-Muslims who are observed praying on the site are subject to expulsion by the police.

Notice how, in the aerial view below of the Temple Mount area, the Dome of the Rock stands out. It was meant to stand out, to dwarf or obliterate any trace of other religious structures, just as the Waqf’s archaeological excavations at Judaism’s holiest site are destroying ancient Jewish antiquities and artifacts – in other words, destroying all evidence of an ancient Jewish presence in Jerusalem.

In the same way, the Taliban erased the Buddhist past of Afghanistan in 2001 by blowing up the world’s two largest standing sandstone Buddhas carved into the hillside 1700 years ago (one of them 165 feet high). Palestinians desecrated and vandalized Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem/Nablus many times, attempting to rebuild it as a mosque, and still refer to Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem as a mosque. Turkey’s Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Spain’s Cordoba Cathedral, and Greece’s Parthenon in Athens were converted into mosques. The intention is to erase every sign, remnant, and memory of a pre-Islamic past.

  1. “Thinking Aloud Mode on”:

Okay, so…the Twin Towers – although not a holy site (other than perhaps to Western capitalism) was too high for Osama’s liking…so he razed them and with them thousands of people, most of them guilty of being “non-believers”.

The shattered Americans meant to transform ground Zero into a memorial site for all these victims of islam – and so, it became a holy site too. Consequently, very quickly a very very very high Victory mosque was to be built – looking down (not only metaphorically) on this “unbelievers” memorial site. (And dont give me the “there were muslim victims too” whine – I have just witnessed in a Paris Courtroom the systematical pack rape of freedom of speech for non-muslims – so I’m not in the mood!!) .

So, I was talking about that Victory Mosque on Ground Zero. In came Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer – and now (FOR THE TIME BEING) the victory mosque plan has had some hurdles – I dont even know if it went ahead in some form, but it certainly is not all that high I think.

However – it is on a ground claimed by the Muslims – so, in view of what I read above about these mohamdanean usurpers forbidding any non-muslim to pray at the Tempel Mount, including its traditional and righteous owners, does it not follow that – in time – non-muslim New Yorkers will not be allowed to go to Ground Zero at all, even to remember their murdered loved ones?

Sometimes I DESPAIR of the Jews: why are you soooooo accommodating to nasty folk who make no secret of the fact that they want you dead and YOUR country erased from the earth?

I know, it’s easy for me, the proverbial keyboard amazone, to hmmmmmmpffffff at you – but still – are you not seeing that every concession you make is paid back by another piece bitten out of your soul?

STOP BEING SO NICE and ACCOMODATING. STOP BELIEVING THAT AGENTS OF EVIL LIKE OBAMA AND HIS MOB MEAN YOU NO HARM. Stop taking prisoners – let alone – letting them go, whatever the blackmail and/or false promises. Follow your survival instinct – it should be sooooo far superior to their killing instinct that they should be “neutralised” before they can say Blablablallahblabla.

I am German born (not Jewish) and I hear that just another German church (or even Cathedral) is being “transformed” into a mosque. And they (Germans) have even less excuse to “submit” (spitting out this word “submit” with extreme contempt) no excuse at all, NO EXCUSE AT ALL!

    //End of ‘Thinking aloud mode’.

@ Eeyore: Please feel free to edit my rant above completely out and just replace it with:

BRAVO to this elected representative of Israel in the video – make him Prime Minister.

  2. Some other Muslims deliberately buried in Hindu temples “6.The tomb should be understood to signify NOT A BUILDING but only the grave or centotaph inside it. This would help people to realize that all dead muslim courtiers and royalty including Humayun, Akbar, Mumtaz [in the Shiva Temple Taj Mahal], Etmad-ud-Daula and Safdarjang have been buried in capture Hindu mansions and temples.” http://www.hindunet.org/hindu_history/modern/taj_oak.html

  3. Suicide bombing in Lebanon; 3 killed (CNN, Feb 22, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/02/22/world/meast/lebanon-suicide-bomb/index.html
“A suicide car bomb in Lebanon killed at least three people and wounded 15 others on Saturday, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported. The bomb exploded at a military checkpoint at Al-Assi Bridge in Hermel, the agency reported. Two of those killed were soldiers and the other was a civilian. At least five of those wounded were soldiers. The location is in northeastern Lebanon near the Syrian border. Prime Minister Tamam Salam called the act a “terrorist attack against a cornerstone of the nation.””

  4. Typical of the triumphalist cultural annihilationism of Islam.

See e.g. the burning of the library of Alexandria: http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/fate-of-library-of-alexandria.html

Sadly typical of the wider world’s historic Jew hating that the Jewish state is prevented from defending itself against this.

See e.g. “Churchill and the Jews”, and how Churchill had to fight not to have to restrict the numbers of Jews escaping to Israel in the 30’s, numbers of Jews putting up new buildings. Nothing changes.

  5. Sometimes I read or hear that Israel plans — or should plan — to take over the site to build a great “Temple”. Usually described/promoted as part of irredentist plot to restore the Kingdom of Solomon with all its majesty.

    Wrong.

According to the Talmud, rebuilding the Temple is part of the glorious package of Redemption: When, at a time of G-d’s choosing, the Messiah comes [or returns, for Christians], we’ll all have a share in that as in everything else.

The State of Israel has no intention of rebuilding the Temple. While most Jews are not sufficiently educated to know the Talmudic injunction, the orthodox bloc in the Knesset would oppose it, backed by all observant Jews in the Diaspora. And that’s that.

  6. The second thing I would do if I were the PM of Israel will be to bulldoze that ugly abomination. The first thing will be to secretly film the inside of that thing and show what passes for a so called religious site: playing soccer!!

During the Muslim uproar the IDF will then take back the Sinai a la Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

The third thing is to plan for the deporting of all Arab Muslims in the area. The fourth thing is to make a public offering of $100,000 to every female single or widowed Arab Muslim between the age of 16 and 36 to leave to Jordan ( the IDF will use every means necessary to ensure a safe passage). Fifth thing, if the fourth thing is not a success, is to carry out the deporting to: Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Deerborn, Quebec, Gibraltar and Venezuela ( they are already there).

  7. “MK Moshe Feiglin States His Reason for Attempting to Enter the Dome of the Rock”

    https://www.templeinstitute.org/archive/04-03-13f.htm :

The following explanation was posted by Moshe Feiglin on his Facebook page. We have translated it into English:

In the introduction to his book “The Temple Mount”, former Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren wrote:

“There is no doubt that WHEN there is a risk of foreigners gaining control over Mount Moriah (Temple Mount), it is permissible for Jews to enter the azara/inner courtyard, which under normal conditions is forbidden by halacha/law, in order to prevent outsiders from gaining sovereignty of the Mount — because the presence of Jews on the Mount in this situation is considered a form of conquest (ie, demonstrating sovereignty) which is greater than a foreign occupation.”

Since I became a member of the Knesset, which means a representative of Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel, I felt that these words of Rabbi Goren require me to enter anywhere in the Mount.

This morning, I did not imagine how right I was. It turns out the the Dome of the Rock (not a mosque) was blocked two years ago for Jews and tourists.

“Only Muslims are allowed,” said a Waqf official nicely.

I explained to the officer (the police had arrived) that by law, an MK cannot be prevented from entering (members of the Israeli Knesset are granted the right to set foot anywhere within sovereign Israel).

The officer’s response was astounding: “this place belongs to the Muslim Waqf.”

Here in the heart of the land of Israel, the Holy of Holies, Muslim sovereignty is actually the rule – simply on account of the fact that due to the sanctity of the location, Jews do not normally enter there.

It is important to emphasize that I am not calling on all Jews to start to ascend to the place where the Temple itself stood – but there is a difference between a member of the Knesset and the general public, but what happened this morning was a clear admission of a loss of Jewish sovereignty on the Temple Mount and we all need to change the situation.

I intend to contact the Attorney General today in order to clarify the status of sovereignty on the Temple Mount and the violation of the law of Israel.

  8. [I wrote this before reading Silver or cbSash – but I’ll shoot this off fast, get back to you guys, ok?]

    *******
Rita, you bring up big issues. I’ll touch two.

1- The Twin Towers site is consecrated ground. It has yet to be designated officially as such, that’s all. That’ll happen when we elect a President worthy of us.
    — Look for me among the throng of people physically blocking construction of a mosque there.

    2- Dome v. Temple
==> Why Jews were excluded from praying there 3 years ago is beyond me. Allowing the Jordanian Waqf to manage the sight is one thing, permitting them to exceed their mandate is another.

But what to do? Do you want another intifada?
[Do you, Richard? Rita? My opinion, the only people to make that decision are _physically_ there. And not even all of them.]

As it is Israeli soldiers must be stationed there permanently to prevent untoward behavior on the part of the mixed multitude. Especially Jewish trouble-makers, who’d just love to pull that hair-trigger.

==> Jewish demands to worship there are not valid theologically.
For reasons I noted in a comment above, it’s not about rebuilding the Temple. That’s bigger than all of us.

A tiny synagogue maybe? No. Not kosher there for many reasons.
I like this one: No one’s gotten close enough to know exactly what stood where & when. What if they’re walking on the Holy of Holies?!

The best Israel can do now is prevent further degradation of the site. Insist on supervising all repair or construction. And doing a better job of it than they’ve done recently.

  9. Silver G-
Forget about “the PM of Israel” – I’d love “to bulldoze that ugly abomination.” I really hate it, I don’t care how long it’s been there, it’s out of place, and it’s filled with evil jinn.

Think about it. The Muslims haven’t done so well since they built that thing. I mean 1400 years of inbreeding camel-jockeys. The only way they win wars is by blowing up more enemies than themselves.

Maybe they’ve been stepping on the Wrong Stones! Serious bad mojo!
Maybe they should climb on their carpets and grab their broomsticks and go back to the big black rock they call home.

  10. Hi Silver,

    “bulldoze that ugly abomination”.

Whilst that may be the reflex response to such a bellicose and typically Islamic installation, I think the priority is to remove it whilst retaining one’s own self respect and moral authority for future generations.

I think that means analysing the factors that sustain the Dome, the main one being the presence of muslims in Israel, and the proximity of other muslim states. That suggests to me that the underlying priority for Israel, as for Europe, is how to ease muslim populations out of your territory. And how to expand the borders of Jewish sovereignty. And, crucially, how to do this in a way that avoids the cruel and hand-dirtying methods of war of conquest, forced ethnic cleansing, and massacre.

If I am right that state authorities are going to become increasingly dysfunctional, and their authority superceded by private ownership, then there may be a solution here. I think Israel’s settlement building provides a beautiful and peaceful forerunner, whereby one expands and delineates territory through private and consensual means. And it is significant that the only response the muslim authorities can make is to make it a capital crime to sell land to a Jew – a characteristically unsustainable and self-degrading response.

Based on such an approach, Islamic enclaves can gradually be eaten into and dissolved, and Israeli borders expanded, by contractual and orderly means. And once that has been established, that Dome can fall into disuse prior to its dismantling and export to some Islamic wasteland.

Before you dismiss this as a pipedream, you might want to reflect on how this method is what enabled the late 19C and early 20C Israelis to establish the territorial foothold from which superior generalship fought off the combined Arab attack in 1948.

And even if I’m wrong about this particular method, I think you will find that forethought is well worth it because bullets are a big expense, war is a double edged sword, and winning without fighting is still the acme of skill.

  11. Lancelot,

You have raised an excellent point. Perhaps bulldozing it would be too aggressive. But in time I would have the roof dismounted and place any gold therein, in the hands of the treasury.

But I maintain that Israel as well as the non Muslims of Lebanon and Egypt need space between them and the muzzies. The only way is deporting and taking land where the non Muslims should be welcomed to live with some dignity.

There will either be a cosmic battle in the West or the West will cease to exist. The Europeans refuse to protect their females and prefer to investigate, however tacitly, if they do, after.

Sometimes I react with joy another Euro female has been abused, touched or rape by an “Asian” which we know is a Muslim. Maybe this time the tipping point has been reached. But no, then more “finger pointing at the Jew”, be it by Merkel, Baron Ashton or Schwarz or from somebody in the BBC. After all that is happened since 9/11 and even prior to that, we have only seen a rise in Jew hate but no outward expression by the people to deport Muslims apart from EDL or Wilders. Islam is not discussed much. What will it take for the EU and Canada, US, Australia, mostly to take out the garbage? Mundo Latino I doubt has a clue so I will not count on them.

  12. The Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount is the abomination that causes desolation, you bet.

    Daniel 11:31

His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.

    Matthew 24:15

So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—

    Mark 13:14

When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

  13. Clarence- great! I remembered Daniel & Mark, but forgot Matthew. That’s it exactly, “the abomination that causes desolation”.
How much closer to the Truth can you get?

Silver G- That thing is a curse, not only for the Muslims but for the rest of us. As far as dismantling it, Tards will just have to do it themselves.

I’d no sooner take the gold than I’d make love with a leper.

  14. Quote:
The fact that The Dome of the Rock was built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount and over the Holy of Holies, asserts that Islam has replaced Judaism.
    end

ONLY if you believe it has.
What you believe is more important here than anything else. It is on the basis of belief that the “Dome of the Rock” can be destroyed.
Just because Muslims appropriate other holy places doesn’t make their religion, practice, or doctrines holy.
    Salvation is from the Jews.
    Salvation is central to Christianity.
    Islam is profane.
It pretends, it mocks its own parents.

  15. Strange! Seems article and comments practically are taking a route,” Holier than thou.” And “Do as I say and not as I do.”

Everyone seems to be zealot of is his/her belief. That zealot ness however, is somehow seems to be monopolized. Lets get real.

All the traditions/teaching/religions have a common goal to serve humanity and respect the functioning of universe. There is difference in Buddhist monk and a rabbi or a priest or an imam because of his/her environment/education/inclination. Lets respect others.

  16. Krypton:

Your comment expresses a very common sentiment. I have heard it from multiple sources and from widely ‘diverse’ cross sections of society. However not once have I heard anyone who uses your premise or variant of it, namely, “All the traditions/teaching/religions have a common goal to serve humanity and respect the functioning of universe.” show me how this is aplied in Islam.

Typically they quote one or two sections of koran they hastily look up. Sections which are typically abrogated by the paragraphs next to it.

Islam does not seek what other religions seek, even if I bought the premise that other religions have more or less the same goals. They do not, but relative to Islam they may as well.

Buddhism seeks to enlighten the practitioner in his lifetime so that he will not have to be born again into this world, as this world means suffering. (I would add that to Buddhists, Hindu’s, Jews and Christians most of this suffering comes from followers of Islam) Christians believe variations of the idea that belief in, or following the teachings of the avatar Jesus will grant you eternal peace in the afterlife or some variant of that. I could go on. However Islam teaches that the only sure way to paradise, defined by an eternity of sex and booze with eternal magic virgins and young boys, “fresh as pearls”, is to wage violent jihad in order to conquer the earth for the religion of mohamed. One he most certainly made up for his own immediate benefit.

So please. Tell us how Islam respects other religions. Name a single area of the world, and you may use Canada, the UK etc., where Muslims have control of an area and afford another theology equal status to themselves or show any respect whatsoever where not required to by force.

Looking forward to your answer. Even scriptural would be good, from koran, hadiths or suna.

  17. Yucki another intifada is coming, whether it precedes or follows a major war is the question, what is upsetting me is the way the west, including way too many Israelis are ignoring the fact that in the Islamic culture refusing to push them back is considered a sign you are afraid of them.

A sign we are going to h ave a major war is the following:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/24/us/politics/pentagon-plans-to-shrink-army-to-pre-world-war-ii-level.html

Since WWII ever time we disarm a major war erupts.

  18. Richard, I know what you mean, I see the handwriting on the wall too. Struggle to read it in a couple of languages. Including Hebrew. [^LOOK FOR: Bunker-Buster Rockets are in the Mail ^]

We know what should be done, but what are we doing? We’re here, and we’ll pull through somehow, whatever it costs. Even as we listen to the ticking of our own time-bomb. North America – hell, Massachusetts! – is a big country, with somewhere to duck and cover.

Tiny Israel, such a young country? It’s just about the most heterogeneous nation in the world. There’s the archetypical liberal Jewish cosmopolite who reads Haaretz and apes Abba Eban. Here in the west he has an audience vastly disproportionate to its importance in Israel.

There are far more strident voices that don’t translate well. Refugees from the lands of Ishmael don’t need lessons in Arab psych. They ARE Arabs.

Before there was an Iraq, there was a Babylon, and there were Jews who remembered Zion. Though Iraqis for millennia, they were set upon so viciously that 130,000 became Israelis in just two years. So too Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, Ethiopia. And Persia, tragic, such a close cousin.

Now these Jewish Arabs scare the living daylights out of doves like Bibi Netanyahu. Ariel Sharon was a temperate statesman by their reckoning. Sometimes overly temperate.

On and on about these disparate voices – the Russians, the haredi, the settlers, the Hungarians en route – but it comes down to this:

You only die once. Why rush?

  19. Yucki I have been seeing the war coming since Gulf War I, there were many points where decisive action would have prevented the coming war but the left had enough control around the world to prevent the necessary action. I don’t think we have too long to wait before the organic animal byproduct hits the air circulatory system.

Yeah there are a lot of places to run and hide if you are young and agile enough, personally I am happy I live in a small town (13,500) in flyover country, I am already hidden. And I have a lot of hillbillies (some of them relatives) surrounding the town to slow the yahoos down if they do come in this direction.
