  1. Video threat emerges amid security concerns over Sochi Winter Olympics (CNN, Jan 19, 2014)

“A video surfaces threatening the Winter Olympics. Russia’s President vows the Games will be safe. Some U.S. lawmakers warn that they won’t be. One thing was clear as debate over the situation surged on Sunday: security is a top concern, less than three weeks away from the competition. “It’s a very serious fear,” Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, told CNN’s State of the Union Sunday. Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that the Games, like any high-profile event, could be a target for terrorists. But, he said, Russia has a “perfect understanding” of the threat and how to stop it. As a transcript of his interview with half a dozen national and international broadcasters was posted on the Kremlin website Sunday, a video that surfaced online again highlighted the security situation. In the video, posted on a well-known Jihadi forum website, two young men believed to have been suicide bombers in last month’s back-to-back bombings in the Russian city of Volgograd speak of those attacks and make an ominous promise.
“We’ve prepared a present for you and all tourists who’ll come over,” the video says. “If you will hold the Olympics, you’ll get a present from us for the Muslim blood that’s been spilled.””

  2. That was a lovely reception, about as good as it gets.

People don’t see this side of Bibi very often. He’s so pleased to welcome the gracious Harpers to his home, he’s glowing like a kid. A state visit to Jerusalem is not business as usual, unfortunately.

The Harpers are doing a “mitzvah” — a good deed. They’re giving Bibi et al. the opportunity to offer hospitality. That’s a big deal to observant Jews. [See Genesis 18:1-8.]

Even the young soldiers are nervous. No one smiles, not even when the national anthem goes off key. Too bad the Harpers’ kids couldn’t come.

  3. I must be getting soppy in my middle-age, that brought a tear or two to my eye. Thanks Stephen Harper for your support ( and I am not Jewish )…and thanks for some sanity.

  4. In other news, Cheradenine Zakalwe from islamversuseurope.blogspot.com is now considering to abandon his/her blog and switch instead to writing a book, fully dedicated to the usual whiny eurotrash conspiracism, anti-intellectual crackpottery and old-school judenhass.

Oh, well, of course it’s easier to ignore the centuries of imbecilic European ethnic quarrels, horrible wars, irrational self-hating masochistic altruistic sacrificial attitudes inherent in Christianity, last few centuries of explicitly nihilistic “democratic” and “progressive” hostility towards ethics and philosophy, popular eurotrash obsession with “egalitarianism” and fanatical faith in tyrannical welfare-statist collectivist socialist utopia. Let’s just blame the jooos for everything.

  5. Oooouu. Rahhhh. Stephen. Proud of your stand on the right side of history. Supporting the peacemakers, Israelies and all modern western democracies.. Regardless of the propaganda and brainwashing from the leftist media lunatic and other supporters of savages and terrorists.

    Mr. Harper just radiates decency.
