3. At least 14 dead, 130 injured in Mansoura’s powerful explosion

Deadly bombings hit the Daqahliya security directorate early on Tuesday in Mansoura, Nile Delta, killing at least 14 and injuring 130 in what seems to be the worst terrorist attack yet since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.

The injury and death tolls, which are expected to further climb with eyewitnesses saying causalities were still inside the damaged building, were announced by Egypt’s health ministry.

Al-Ahram’s Arabic site quoted an anonymous security source as saying that two bombs went off almost at the same time. The first bomb, he says, was planted in a higher floor in the building, the second in a car next to the security directorate.

A third bomb planted in another car was defused, the source added.

  1. It’s hard to see what the trend-setting State Department is ‘troubled’ about. Mohammed and Mohammedanism and are off-limits for satirists, why not Mohammedan states and tyrants as well? The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

  2. #2

Mohammed did not possess a sense of humor and, in fact, had a number of people murdered for the crime of taking him lightly. I imagine what’s happened here is that some Emir got the impression that some Western-leaning kids were making “Jewish-style” fun of his sons and his culture, and had them thrown in prison for it. It’s that simple. They don’t have Canadian Laws in the United Arab Emirates.

  3. #5 Combine this one with the riot in Hamburg, the picture that is emerging is of a reborn Nazi regime in Northern Europe.
