1. Christian group plans 100-foot-tall Jesus statue in Muslim-dominated Nazareth

As Christians from across the globe flock to the Holy Land in time for Christmas prayers and ceremonies, some in the community in Nazareth are seeking to reaffirm the historical importance of their town by erecting a statue of Jesus that would tower more than 100 feet above the city.

(Anyone know an actuarial they can cost out the insurance premiums with?)

2. Erdogan threatens to expel foreign envoys

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday threatened to expel foreign ambassadors, blaming them for an investigation implicating people close to his government in a vast corruption and bribery scandal.

“Some ambassadors are engaged in provocative actions,” Erdogan said in televised remarks in the Black Sea city of Samsun. “We don’t have to keep you in our country.”

4. US citizens now free to sue KSA for compensation for 911 attack.

(Given recent revelations about the extent that the government of the KSA was involved in the financing and preparations for the 911 attacks, I think a law suit should be the very very least of their troubles)

5. Europe: Islamic Fundamentalism is Widespread

A discussion paper published by the Germany-based Gustav Stresemann Foundation — a think tank dedicated to the preservation and advancement of liberal democracy in Europe — warns that national and international Islamic organizations are increasingly putting pressure on Western politicians gradually to criminalize any critique of Islam.

In a commentary on the study, the German newspaper Die Welt says the findings cast serious doubt on the unbridled optimism of European multiculturalists, who argue that Muslim citizens will eventually internalize the mindset of Western democracies.

  1. #1 No insurance company in the world would issue a police on the survival of the statue.

    #2 Translation, how dare you inform people of corruption that is make me a fortune. Corruption in Islamic governments is a given the only question is how high the corruption reaches, the more the money the higher the corruption will reach.

    #3 It was my understanding that Lybia paid the terrorist group to bomb the airliner, however as with all actions in the Middle East there is going to be a lot of conflicting evidence.

    #4 The law suits are indeed the least of the KSA’s problems.
