1. And it just gets creepier in the USA where any cop with a suitcase sized device can gather all phone records from all cell phones within range. 4th amendment? We don’t need no stinkin 4th amendment!

2. Gypsies in one British county left a £9,000 clean-up bill after dumping 67 tonnes of rubbish in just 22 days.

Resident Adrian Barnard said he was ‘horrified’ by the debris, which included toilets, fridges and wardrobes.

(This is some serious cultural enrichment)

3. Islamist rebels in Syria proudly document themselves carrying out a new, horrific system of execution.

(This, new methods to determine which direction to point your arse skywards and recipes for camel urine seem to be about the limit of islamic innovation)

  1. Egypt: Clashes rock Cairo’s Al-Azhar University

Pro-Muslim Brotherhood students from Cairo’s al-Azhar University blocked streets in Cairo’s Nasr City district on Sunday during a demonstration calling for oustered president Mohamed Morsi be reinstated. Protests have been ongoing since a pro-Muslim Brotherhood student from the university died during clashes on November 21.

Students pelted stones and bottles at those opposed against them, leaving dozens injured. The protesters also lit a fire at the university’s dormitory gates, reportedly to lessen the effects of tear gas fired at the students earlier in the protest by police.

Court finds woman guilty of attacking a university employee for marrying her husband

A Saudi woman paid a heavy price when she was lashed 80 times inside a university for assaulting an employee after discovering she became the second wife of her husband. But her rash act did pay off eventually as the husband divorced that woman.

The unnamed woman, in her 40s, had stormed the university in the northern Saudi town of Rafha and attacked the woman at the arts and science faculty after learning she had become the second wife of her husband.

At court, the judge sentenced her to one month in prison and ordered her lashed 80 times in one batch inside the university in front of all its staff members.

“The case infuriated the husband who divorced both wives…but he later decided to re-marry his first wife,” said Sharq newspaper, which carried a rare picture of the lashing.
