1. ‘US freed top Iranian scientist as part of secret talks ahead of Geneva deal’

Mojtaba Atarodi, arrested in California for attempting to acquire equipment for Iran’s military-nuclear programs, was released in April as part of back channel talks, Times of Israel told. The contacts, mediated in Oman for years by close colleague of the Sultan, have seen a series of US-Iran prisoner releases, and there may be more to come

2. More ‘teens’ ‘randomly’ attacking people, this time in Florida.

3. Charges filed for threats against Yahya Hassan

Police have filed charges against one individual for threatening the poet Yahya Hassan.

Hassan reported 27 different threats made against him on Facebook. The 19-year-old poet with Palestinian roots is known for this criticism of both Islam and Middle-Eastern immigrant communities where, he says, neglect is rife.

(Yahya is the poet we posted a video on the other day)

3b. However it would appear that this brave young poet himself was arrested for ‘racism’ for criticizing islam and his stand on the behavior of immigrant communities. I guess. (Use Chrome and translate to English for the general idea)

4. One black man who entertained himself attacking random white people got shot for his trouble.

5. French court orders jail to serve halal meals

(Two or three more French court orders and jail will be a better life for religious muslims than freedom)

Thank you M, Richard, Fjordman, Taffy in Canada and anyone I missed. More to come. It is a buyers market on news of islamic and leftist horror these days.

  1. Iraq violence: Eighteen killed after being abducted (BBC, Nov 29, 2013)
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-25150707
“The bodies of 18 people have been found near a town to the north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, hours after they were abducted from their homes, police say.

The corpses – with gunshots to the head – were found near the town of Tarmiya. At least one army officer was among those killed.

Execution-style killings have been on the rise in Iraq, correspondents say, alongside a wave of bomb attacks…”

The Iraq violence is very bad. There is no denying it. I am sure people will say if bush had not attacked Sadam everything would be okay.

But under Sadam people were rounded up all the time. So it may be a wash; it is just different people doing it. You would have to compare the 1991 uprising, the Gas attacks on the Kurds and just the normal everyday policed abductions and incarcerations of people

At least under Bush we had a chance, but now nothing.

  3. I would say that Bush made a huge mistake attacking Iraq and ousting Saddam Hussein. Arab people can only function under a cruel, strong, tyrannical ruler, and Saddam was exactly that. Without leaders like Saddam, the Islamists are always waiting in the wings, eager to take over, with the help of their left-wing, useful idiot allies. Life under Saddam Hussein is the best life a Muslim Arab can possibly hope for, and that’s not our fault. They could always choose to convert to Christianity and start leading decent lives if they really wanted their lives to improve, but they are content with pointing their fingers at others and clinging to their evil cult. They deserve Hussein and Quaddafi and Assad and Arafat and all the rest…

  4. Chris

I would say that your argument is valid. I do not like it, but it is a legit argument and well worthy of study.

Let’s assume it is true (cuz it might be; no snark meant). How do you put a dictator like Sadam in his place when he is constantly scheming or at least is trying to make you think he has something going. You obviously have to hit him from time to time to cut him down to size without hurting too much and having him fall prey to enemies like Iran or Al Qaeda.

I am not sure our democracies would understand it. Winston Churchill would but not 20% to 80 % of the electorate. It makes it difficult for politicians (assuming they are any good). They have to explain why we are putting the hurt on time after time without crushing a bad guy

    ***
    Scheming or otherwise causing trouble.
-Shooting at planes in the No fly zone
-Bluffing people about his nuke program having a nuke program
-Paying the families of Palestinian terrorists
    -Headquartering Palestinian terrorists in Iraq
-Having talks with terrorists to see if they could cooperate (Al Qaeda)

  5. If one accepts that the dominant strategy of US foreign policy for the past 100 years or so has been never to allow a hegemony in Eurasia, then Chris is spot-on and Obama is just too stupid to understand the bitter reality of this. Arguably so was W Bush although I think his motives were at least well intentioned. In fact it would explain a great deal including Korea and Vietnam. A decisive win in either conflict would mean a regional hegemon.

  6. Despotism is a legitimate mode of government in dealing with barbarians, provided the end be their improvement, and the means justified by actually effecting that end. Liberty, as a principle, has no application to any state of things anterior to the time when mankind have become capable of being improved by free and equal discussion. Until then, there is nothing for them but implicit obedience to an Akbar or a Charlemagne, if they are so fortunate as to find one.

John Stuart Mill, On Liberty (1859)

Just a wee too much progressive optimism there, applied to Islamic barbarians.

  7. Chris your argument about the strong dictator is right but Saddam was funding terrorist groups that were attacking the US, that is a fact that most of the media including FOX ignores.

  8. UK – Huddersfield – Hundreds of children evacuated from Huddersfield mosque after man claimed he’d put pig’s head inside

[…]earlier that month a pig’s head had been found on a spike on railings outside the Bentley Street mosque. This was removed by mosque secretary Mohammed Imran before anyone else could discover it.

Three weeks later Mr Imran received a call from St Hillaire which he found distressing. The prosecutor said: “He (St Hillaire) said: b>‘I’ve put another pig’s head inside the mosque, you need to get everyone outside.”

Mr Wills said that at the time there were about 200 children inside the mosque. The mosque was evacuated but staff told children they were carrying out a fire drill.

[…]St Hillaire was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail,
