1. #12,765,085,567,496 on the list of things muslims didnt invent

(Of course there likely will be a muslim variant of this which goes 10 feet and explodes)

2. Kim Jong-un awarded economics doctorate by Malaysian university

(By the logic of argumentum ad absurdum he actually deserves it. By showing the worst possible way to run an economy he gives the rest of the world a clear example of what not to do, which, in a way, is quite valuable. I can’t calculate the number of times I have argued with commie idiots and said, ‘you mean like they do in North Korea?’ and won my point for a free market)

3. Iran may be a month away from a nuclear bomb

(I don’t usually post this stuff anymore because its a variant of ‘the boy who cried wolf’. But as I understand the logistics of making nuclear weapons, the idea is to create a sort of assembly line where a nation is always X number of weeks/months away from being able to produce a weapon. Some nations actually do have an arsenal of ready nukes of course but places like Japan and Canada most likely have a system where one can be assembled, if needs be, in X number of days. Iran is almost certainly doing that. Probably setting up to make a dozen or so at a time.)

4. More than half of Brits want full face veil banned

(This seems only just as at least 70% of muslims want British law banned from England)

5. Syrians download new app that sends them a text… when they are about to be hit by a missile

(We all may need a variant of this soon enough)

  1. ISAF members attacked in Afghanistan (CNN, Oct 26, 2013)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2013/10/26/world/asia/afghanistan-attack/index.html
“A man wearing an Afghan military uniform attacked members of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in eastern Afghanistan Saturday, an ISAF spokesman said.

The gunman was killed and there were no ISAF casualties, the spokesman said.

So-called “green on blue” attacks killed dozens of coalition troops in 2012, prompting the U.S. command in Kabul to stop some joint operations with Afghan security forces.”

  2. #3 My understanding is that they not only want to assemble a dozen or so at one time, they want the flow if fissile material to be strong enough they can keep assembling for several weeks to several months.

#7 Eeyore you are right, we may need one of those apps before too long.

  3. ( AP ) Video: Ex-soldier suicide-bombed Egypt official

An ex-Egyptian army officer carried out the suicide bombing last month that unsuccessfully targeted the country’s interior minister, a video posted online Saturday by al-Qaida-inspired militants claims.

The failed car bomb assassination and increasing attacks in the country’s lawless Sinai Peninsula raise fears of an escalating Islamic militant campaign of revenge over the July 3 military coup that ousted Egypt’s first democratically elected president and his Muslim Brotherhood-led government. Those worries saw soldiers escort teachers to class for the first day of school Saturday in the Sinai, as well as Christians cancel a planned festival in southern city of Luxor.

Military officials reached by The Associated Press declined to comment about the video posted in the name of the Ansar Jerusalem militant group, which has carried out other attacks in the Sinai. But it comes as security officials already fired one police officer over alleged ties with Islamists.

The video posted on militant websites shows a man identified as Waleed Badr, who wears a uniform with a rank of a major. He says in the video that the Egyptian army is ‘‘bent on fighting religion’’ and ‘‘loves America’’ more than Egyptians.

The video also shows a car in streets described as being close to the home of Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim in Cairo. It shows the minister’s motorcade and provided a description of his armored SUV. The video does not explain, however, why the Sept. 5 bombing failed to kill Ibrahim. The blast killed one person and injured 22.

  4. What’s that tune? Actually a specific part of the background music.

Every time I hear it I vomit.

Must have something to do with the Boston Marathon bombing. I try not to follow that thread here or elsewhere, can’t just yet. I do mute the sound of clips sometimes, but only if I think it’s one of these …

  5. 1#. Today in the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, I read that Kadir Nurman, the turkish inventor of the “Döner Kebab” had passed away at the age of 80.

Mr. Nurman arrived to Western Germany in 1960 and started his first little stand in 1972.

According to my meaning, the Döner Kebab is absolutely competitive with the meals from McDonalds and Burger King.

    Right should be right.
