First video to come from OCSE conference. Side event on ‘Islamophobia’

Here is the first video of a series of quite a few which will come from this event over the next weeks.

This was only an audio file, so we matched speakers to the voices and named them. Notice the misdirection used to try and let the term ‘Islamophobia’ be used as an actionable term to attack legitimate critics of Islam and its dogma.

Thank you Ned, Henrik and many others who have worked hard and used lots of precious personal resources to make sure that someone countered these attempts to destroy free expression and criticism of irrational religious authority.

A more complete explanation of what this is exactly and what it means is up up at Gates now.. For anyone who wishes to hear the entire side event unabridged please click here for the complete 45 minute session.

  1. Islamophobia is Catch-72;

    You can’t criticize Islam,
    Unless you know Islam,
    And you can’t know Islam,
    Unless you convert to Islam,
And you can’t convert to Islam,
    Unless you fully accept Islam,
Including the tenet to never criticize Islam,
    Under penalty of death.

  2. Just another bloody day in Pakistan.

“At least 40 people were killed and about 100 were wounded after a bomb exploded at a bazaar in Peshawar, officials at a Pakistani hospital said.

A car carrying 220 kilograms (440 pounds) of explosives detonated in the city’s historic Qissa Khawani bazaar, destroying at least 10 shops, several vehicles and leaving a huge crater, said Shafqat Malik, chief of the bomb disposal unit.

The Pakistani Taliban, Tehrik-i-Taliban, condemned the attack and denied any involvement…”

The students were shot dead as they slept in their dormitory at the College of Agriculture in Yobe state.

North-eastern Nigeria is under a state of emergency amid an Islamist insurgency by the Boko Haram group.

Boko Haram is fighting to overthrow Nigeria’s government to create an Islamic state, and has launched a number of attacks on schools…”

  4. Protecting the rest of us from spurious, ruinous charges of “Islamophobia” takes a back seat to beating other delegates to the wine and cheese. No surprise there, I guess.

It’s interesting that Robin Richardson (of Runnymede – Intelligence for a Multi-Ethnic Britain) quotes Marx not once but twice during his run-out-the-clock waffling. The obvious tactic would to throw someone the other side might admire back in their faces – Jefferson, Jesus, John Stuart Mill. But either he can’t be bothered, or he’s unaccustomed to being challenged, or he actually thinks he’s being clever, or he’s never read anyone but Marx, or his first concern is to impress his peers and please his masters.

Robin Richardson from the full transcript at Gates of Vienna:

“Your point that Islam is connected with terrorists and lack of integration and high crime rates, well, I just disagree. I don’t think it is connected and I’m afraid I would use the word Islamophobic to describe the view they’re connected.”

Is this the depth of the knowledge of the commentators like Guronimo on this anti-Islam blog?
He is lying when he says that penalty of death is for criticizing Islam. There is no tenants of Islam, which prescribe death for criticizing Islam.
In the history of Islam, there have been forums of constant discussion as how to interpret Islam according to the context and time. It is called Ijtihad. That is why there are 72 different ways to practice Islam.
Muslims respect Judaism and Christianity as divine religions and people of these two religions are called ;People of the book. Of course, there are idiots and zealots in Islam as there are in other religions.
So please before you rush to malign Islam, go and learn about it. You do not have to convert. I can give you free lessons.
    Kind regards

  6. Bashy:

I could write a novel to refute most of what you say above. Of course the simplest thing is to simply look at Islamic actions today and throughout its history from the time of the pirate Mohamed and read islamic law such as is well and thoroughly detailed in Reliance of the Traveler as well as lots of other books readily available in Islamic bookstores throughout the Western world.

I think the numerous people killed, the attempts on the lives of people like Kurt Westergaard, Lars Hedigaard and countless others, the fatwas on people both famous like Salman Rushdie or Geert Wilders and common folk who criticize islam, this would do to refute your claims in a practical way.

You may want to look up the definition of slander as decreed by Al Azzaar (Sp) and also by Shiia authorities as well. Slander in Islam has nothing to do with truth but about how Islam is made to look to others. Therefore, anyone who criticizes Islam is guilty of slander and the punishment for that is death. Check various Saudi penalties on people who tweeted bad things about Mohamed. True, but more importantly bad seeming.

As for your free lessons, well, I would bet that either you are lying, or quite a few people here could give you lessons on Islam. But to be perfectly blunt. Everything anyone needs to know about Islam they should have learned in 20 minutes on Sept. 11 2001.
