Radical Myanmar Buddhist monk unhurt in bomb blast

When one defends oneself against Islamic manifest destiny, suddenly one is a ‘radical’. Its time to dismantle the press and start over altogether.

Yahoo News:

YANGON (Reuters) – A bomb exploded meters away from a radical Buddhist monk as he delivered a mass sermon in Myanmar, police said on Monday, the latest flare-up in tensions pitting Buddhists against minority Muslims.

Wirathu, the prominent monk who heads a movement accused of stirring violence against Muslims, said he believed the blast on Sunday evening in Myanmar’s second city, Mandalay, was intended to silence him.

The home-made bomb went off inside a parked car, according to police and witnesses. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Tensions have been smoldering between radical elements of Myanmar’s Buddhist majority and Muslims. Bouts of religious violence have killed at least 237 people and displaced 150,000 in the past year, testing the resolve of a two-year-old quasi-civilian government.

  1. “When one defends oneself against Islamic manifest destiny, suddenly one is a ‘radical’. Its time to dismantle the press and start over altogether.”

Been doing that for decades to Hindus of India. Seen even the partition of India be made the Hindus fault, and Jinnah be portrayed as a secularist and Pakistan as a secular state. Kid you not.

  2. A senior monk put it well in one clip: [I paraphrase]
“When a sick dog runs wild, you feel very sorry for it. Surely it’s suffering, foaming at the mouth, doing violence to himself. You can do nothing for him, that’s sad. But you can & must protect others from him. Life is precious; save those whom you can, that’s just common sense.”

He struck the perfect note, his expression serene yet pensive, the tacit lament of one born to lead, not live as a hermit.

But oh, how his eyes twinkled! I laughed out loud.

  3. Tensions have been smoldering between radical elements of Myanmar’s Buddhist majority and Muslims.

The unstated is that there are no radicals in Islam i.e., the ability to distinguish between the violent radicals and non-violent. .

  4. I can’t think of a better present for the Buddhist resistance, this makes a hero of the man, a fact that is driving the Western media mad.

  5. So the monk is a radical for he stands up to the Islamists, this is just more boot licking from the sycophants in the MSM, who have a perverted fascination with Islam. Accurate and truthful reporting, and journalism have been dead for a very long time in the MSM.
