Links and news for July 13 2013 – 1

Just to clear up any confusion I posted a L&N less than an hour ago that had yesterday’s date on it. This is because I compiled it mostly yesterday and finished it today. (This is a very busy weekend for me)

1. Giuliani: War on Terror Hampered by Political Correctness

2. A second speech in the debate on Islam and whether or not its a religion of peace.

3. Corona Virus at the hajj. KSA admits to 38 dead from the virus. Several hundred of course dead from Ramadan killings and bombings in the name of islam. Which of course shows which is the deadlier virus.

4. US teen admired Islam and adopted its peaceful ways. More info here

5. If this mans statistics are correct there is a great deal to be very concerned about in the USA. (Once again I have broken my own rule on posting material about internal US politics. But Obama’s failings seem to eclipse ordinary partizan nonsense it seems)

H/T Richard, EDL Buck, Softy bob and many more over the past 24 hours. Thank you all.

  1. Well spoken, Anne-Marie Waters. According to me, Islam is not a religion at all but an ideology like communism and national socialism. Imagine “religions” today where the words of the prophets Lenin or Hitler must be followed by the book?

  2. Huh? Pentagon Denies U.S. About to ‘Invade’ Egypt

The Pentagon and U.S. Embassy in Cairo issued surprising denials today after reports in the Egyptian press said that a U.S. task force in the Red Sea was about to “invade Egypt.”

Earlier this week, two U.S. ships led by the USS San Antonio, a transport platform, carrying the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the USS Kearsarge, an amphibious assault ship, moved into the northern Red Sea. Last month, along with the USS Carter Hall, which has since left the Red Sea, the 2,200-strong force had been part of Operation Eager Lion, training with Jordanian Forces.

Pentagon Press Secretary George Little took to Twitter today to deny reports that the Navy’s presence meant an imminent U.S. invasion.

Some Egyptian press reports suggest US Navy ships are near Arabian Peninsula/Suez Canal to invade Egypt. Those reports are absolutely wrong.

At the same time, U.S. Embassy in Cairo posted a similar statement, reading: “We deny false claims in Egyptian press that U.S. naval ships are in the vicinity of the Arabian Peninsula and the Suez Canal to militarily invade Egypt. The United States has forces regularly deployed in the vicinity of the Arabian Peninsula, and U.S. vessels regularly pass through the Suez Canal en route to the Indian Ocean or the Mediterranean Sea.”

The Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group has been in the region since May, patrolling the Red Sea, Horn of Africa, the Gulf and the Arabian Sea.

Egypt has been in turmoil since the Egyptian military removed President Mohamed Morsi from office earlier this month. Some of Morsi’s backers have accused the U.S. of secretly backing the military push.

On Thursday, the top Marine Corps general announced the movement saying, “Egypt is (in) a crisis right now.”

Speaking to the Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank in Washington D.C., Marine Corps Commandant General James Amos said, “When that happens, what we owe the senior leadership of our nation are some options,” Amos said. “We don’t know what’s going to happen.”

  3. VIDEO – Istanbul – July 13th 2013

RT; Hundreds of demonstrators were faced with police shooting tear gas and water cannons in Gezi Park on Saturday, as the Turkish authorities again dispersed crowds of angry protesters. The activists had gathered to march on Gezi Park, which has been the scene of fierce clashes over the past several weeks, but were forced to scatter on Istiklal Street, close to the central Taksim Square.

#5 I haven’t heard his entire speech but so far he hasn’t mentioned the way that government regulations (state and federal) are preventing small businesses from opening or surviving when they do open.
