Syrian forces training to storm Israel’s border

No idea if this is true or not but I do know that major forces in the region want it to be true and if it isn’t now, it will be shortly after Obama supplies them all with primo weapons. Fortunately he cannot supply them with know-how. But my money would be on Al-Qaeda + US not Syria and Iran.

Even so, I doubt that Basher has 5000 troops to spare to train to fight Israel in Iran when his own country is under a rather intense attack by Obama and Al-Qaeda

TEL AVIV – Thousands of Syrians are currently training in Iran to serve as a force ready to storm Israel’s northern Golan Heights, according to informed Middle Eastern security officials.

The officials said between 3,000 and 5,000 Syrian men were being trained in the event Syrian President Bashar al-Assad decides to open a front against the Golan Heights, which borders Syria.

The training is being overseen by the Al Quds Force, the elite unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responsible for the country’s extraterritorial operations, the sources said.

  1. Iran is going to hit Israel when it thinks the time is right, they want Assad to be in charge in Syria then so they can use Syria as an invasion force.

  2. The story is ludacris. I don’t doubt syrian military is getting training from Iran but that’s completely understandable. Countries help train each others military all the time. I doubt anyone intends to invade Israel.

I don’t doubt that Iran would want Israel to fear that such a thing could happen but history has shown that when these countries weapons programs are taken out they don’t respond in a meaningful way.

  3. Iran’s Northern flank is secure. That would be Russia, it’s erstwhile ally of convenience.

The northwester flank is troublesome. That is the one with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is allied with Israel because they both hate Iran. If you look at the ethnic make up of Iran you will see not only Kurds and other minorities but a very sizable minority of Azeris. Azerbaijan would like to become greater Azerbaijan with all Azeris within its’ borders. But if the Azeris move against Iran, then Russian moves against Azerbaijan. The Israelis station some covert forces drones, others?) in Azerbaijan with the covert blessing of the government.

the Southwester border is as secure as the Shia majority in Iraq are secure.

The souther border is secure. Unless the Saudis and other gulf state acquire amphibious capability and have the balls to use it. Or if they ad hoc the amphib capabilities. the U.S. could provide the amphib and the air & naval cover, but consider that while Obama might be well hung, he carries an exceedingly small stick (& yet talks loudly). He contrast quite well with Teddy Roosevelt.

The Iranians easter border abuts on Pakistan. If the Saudis and Pakistanis got together, Iran could get in trouble. But Pakistan has its own problems. It lack of a civil society (Baluchistan, extremists & the tribal areas), India and Russia.

Iran has enough problems to do it in. but China & Russia do not see it in their interest. So any meddling by the U.S. will be met with equal or greater meddling by those other powers. We could outdo Russian and china, but that would take standing up to the left and tearing the low information people away from the Khardassian’s reality show.

  4. It won’t be just the 4 to 5,000 Iranians, it will be several tens of thousands of Hezbollah fighters(who stood up to Israel the last them they fought, they only retreated when they ran out of ammo) with the Syrians that the Iranians are training on one flank and probably Hamas hitting them from the other side.

Rule 1 for surviving in a world where everyone hates you, never, never underestimate your enemy and never expect them to hit you and react the same as they did the last time you fought.

  5. They are traing 4,000 now.

    1. It is good for propaganda. Do not underestimate that.
    2. those trained become a cadre, a nucleus providing the officers and NCOs for a larger force.
    3. Plans go thru several iterations. This is just the 1st known one. theU.S. had several plans for a Pacific war in case one broke out with Japan. Japan know doubt had several also. Germany had a plan for defeating France form the 1870s on. It was also updated until WW1. During WW1 there were several plans/offensives. After WW1 there were several pans. The Germans practiced their tactics in Russia during the 1920s and 1930s. Next iteration of the plan might have 20,000 Iranians plus 20,000 Iraqis, etc…

Assad as Richard pointed out the Assad & Iranians would not in alone. He would be supported by Hezbollah that can shell Israel at well and have an extensive bunker system, which held out against the Israelis in 2006. can Israel come out well against Hezbollah, Assad, Iran, Iraqi Shia and possibly Hamas. Iran cut off funds to Hamas. So Hamas is hemorhaging money. Sweden is also thinking of cutting off money since there is no peace process (wait Sweden will go to bed wake up & continue funding the Palestinians because the liberal government is just that stupid!). Hamas might kiss & make up. Egypt and Hamas might stop killing Shia long enough to join in an attack on Israel if they think it would fall. So if 4,0000 hit hard enough, even if they all died they might have an effect of making a temporary Shia-Sunni alliance.

Interesting points, a major sunni shite allance would be fun to watch against the IDF and IDAF, don’t forget that the IDAF now has “bunker buster” ordinace Red

  7. And the Israelis have/had some of the best pilot s on the planet. Trained by the RAF, I thankyou.

  8. This reminds me of a gulf war 1 joke
A yank giving his pilots a berfing says,” What ever you do don’t go below 30k feet, you’ll find our fighters. And please, for the love of god don’t go below 200 feet, cause that’s where you’ll find the RAF. Nuff said.

  9. I think there was something to do with cruise misslies but I forget, any RAF Men can correct me on this one?

  10. Buck the point Red and I are trying to make is don’t underestimate your enemy and don’t 7/it won’t happen just that it may not, remember Hezbollah stood and fought, they held the Israelis until they ran out of ammo. That says that at least one of the forces that are poised to attack Israel are well trained and well led. The Syrian forces are also showing signs of being well trained and led and are receiving a lot of weapons from Russia.

Don’t forget that Obama is limiting the amount of supplies that are sent to Israel, that also has to be figured into the equation since in the past wars we were resupplying the Israelis 24/7 during the combat.

  11. 5000 Syrian super soldiers? I’m sure the Israelis are quaking…………with laughter.

  12. The RAF could not afford specialist jamming gear, so for decades they were trained to attack Soviet targets by flying under the radar. This is what caused the RAF to have far higher casualty rate the USAF, in the first Iraq war.

Of course flying fast and low over enemy targets, requires a lot more skill then flying at 30K and using ECM.

The new fighters though come equipped with ECM.

Bunker buster bombs work. True. Hezobollah has put some bunkers under schools. The Hez want press sympathy and the left is ready to go and protest whatever …

Then again if a general wear breaks out …

The Hez have been known to fire artillery from UN Blue helmet bases. They either escape counterbattery fire or you have headline news of dead UN peacekeepers.

Firing weapons from an UN observation post should be grounds to get a group listed as a terrorist organization sanction or hunted from the face of the earth. But diplomats are notoriously thick headed.
