Handing over control of a tourist hotspot to a party that loathes tourists is asking for trouble, but that’s exactly what Egypt has just done. On Sunday, President Morsi appointed Adel al-Khayat of the Gamaa al-Islamiyya party as Governor of Luxor, a region home to the ruins of two temples and several monuments, widely known as the “open air museum.”  The party, Gamaa al-Islamiyya, not only holds conservative views against sunbathing, women wearing shorts, and alcohol, but is also responsible for the 1997 attack in Luxor that killed 60 tourists. The New York Times reports:

(What isn’t mentioned in this article is how islam views all things that exist prior to the time of islamic supremacy as leftover from a time of ignorance and religious muslims feel its a worthy thing to destroy all archeological evidence of same. Notice how many Churches and Synagogues there are in Saudi Arabia for example, a country that was entirely Jewish, Christian and Animist before Mohamed started his killing spree.)

  1. 1) This is going to kill the tourist trade in Luxor.

    2) This is an example of what we can expect until the jihad fever is over, I an scared that the priceless artifacts of ancient Egypt will be destroyed.

  2. Let them kill their own tourist trade. It’s less money in the pockets of jihadists, and more chance to say “I told you so” to the Western tourists who go about their business ignorant of the dangers of Islam and who probably cheered on the Arab Spring.
It’s a shame about the Egyptian relics but if the Muzzloids ever do do destroy them, then more people will wake up to just what uncultured Luddites these savages are. If the Ancient temples, pyramids and whatever go, they should finally know who to blame it on this time?

  3. I agree with Softly Bob. Let them destroy it, and show those liberals who cheered on the ‘Arab Spring’ what it has brought. All those precious artifacts defaced and stolen. Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the sickest of them all? The Muslims. It’s gonna be real hard for the MSM to cover it up and defend it, but I am sure they will find a way. It’s Allah will!

  4. I was wondering what Zahi Hawass thought about this.

I knew he was very patriotic or nationalistic. But looking at his wiki wrtiteup and he comes out covered in warts. Which is pretty damning coming from Wiki.

I am glad I already been to Egypt when I could walk around safely by myself. I certainly have not seen enough, but after the MB goes full Taliban there will not being anything left to see.
