10 Replies to “Jihad”

  1. Malik’s Muwatta 21.1.2 (generally considered the oldest written collection of hadith/traditions):

“Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu’z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Allah guarantees either the Garden or a safe return to his home with whatever he has obtained of reward or booty, for the one who does jihad in His way, if it is solely jihad and trust in his promise that brings him out of his house.”

Am I blind or is it rather pretty obvious how “jihad” was traditionally understood and explained back then…

P.S. Chapter 21 (in Malik’s Muwatta) is called “Jihad.”

  2. CAIR if nothing more than a propagandist front group specifically used to distort, cleanse, and otherwise modify the truth. Sadly the Sycophants, lackeys, lapdogs, and apologists of Islam in the MSM and the political class use this group on many occasions as their only source of information.

  3. Iraq: Bomb at Baquba political rally kills at least 25

A suicide bomb and grenade attack at a political rally in eastern Iraq has left at least 25 people dead.

At least 25 people were killed and 60 injured Saturday in a bomb blast at an open air rally in central Iraq.

Officials said the attacker struck as Sunni candidate Muthana al-Jourani was meeting supporters in Baquba, 60km (35 miles) north-east of Baghdad, the BBC reported.

No group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

According to NDTV supporters of the Azimun Ala al-Bina party, a small local list, had been gathered at around lunchtime in the city of Baquba when a militant threw a grenade before a suicide bomber then blew himself up.

A police colonel and a medic at Baquba hospital said at least 25 people were killed and 60 others were wounded.

The country has been plagued by attacks in the lead up to the April 20 provincial elections and is braced for more violence.

The polls will be the latest in Iraq since a March 2010 parliamentary election, and the first since the withdrawal of US forces at the end of 2011.
