TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian on Sunday launched its domestically built destroyer in the Caspian Sea, the nation’s first heavy military presence in the oil-rich sea, state TV reported.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the guided-missile destroyer Jamaran-2 in the port city of Anzali, about 250 kilometers (150 miles) northwest of Tehran.

After final tests, the report said, Jamaran-2 will join Iran’s naval fleet in the sea in coming months.

  1. Why do I get that Soviet Union feeling?
Or that Iraq feeling for that matter?
Or perhaps that Israel will never win against the military might of the Arab nations feeling?
Don’t you just know that all this pumping up the military might of Iran will turn out to be crap.
The destroyer will be like something from the 50s, as willl their super duper jet fighter, or submarine, or what ever. There troops will not fight and their armour will disintegrate.
If we have to deal with them, we have to deal with them, and “in matters of defense it is better to weigh the enemy mightier than he seems”, but please, like Afghanistan, or Iraq it won’t be winning the war, that will be a walkover, it will be winning the peace that’s the difficult bit.

  2. The only time we win the peace is when we fight the wars to win them rather then build nation. Yes the Destroyer is probably a 1960s level weapon just as their super duper jet is, however you have to remember that enough of them can destroy Saudi and the surrounding nations.

Read the Verona intercepts and the Black Book of Communism, the Soviets were out to destroy us and the useful idiots in the west were helping them.
