Hamas and Islamic Jihad say that a visit by Obama to the Temple Mount will be a declaration of war on the Islamic world.

The Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups threatened on Friday that a visit by U.S. President Barack Obama to the Temple Mount during his upcoming visit to Israel will be a declaration of war on the Arab and the Islamic world.
A Hamas representative in the Al-Aqsa mosque, Mushir al-Masri, even called for a third intifada (uprising) and for Egyptian assistance in the “resistance” if Obama chooses to visit the Temple Mount.
According to the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency, the Gaza-based terrorist organizations made the threats during a protest march on Friday over the riots that broke out earlier in the day on the Temple Mount.
According to the report, Khalid al-Batash, a senior Islamic Jihad member, also called to prevent Obama from visiting the compound.
Nothing to see here, the great Commander-In-Cowardice will bow under the threat and go back to kissing his Muslim masters’ feet.

After Friday prayers in Jerusalem clashes broke out between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters just outside the al-Aqsa Mosque. Police fired stun grenades at worshippers who threw rocks and firebombs. Dozens of officers in riot gear entered the politically sensitive area, to break up the protest. Around 35 Palestinians were reported hurt along with a number of police.
There has been a recent surge in violence in the West Bank and in Jerusalem in the weeks leading up to a visit by US President Barack Obama at the end of this month. Although the talks are to focus on the wider Middle East region including concerns about Syria and Iran, Palestinian peace talks could be on the agenda. Worshippers, Israel police clash at Al-Aqsa over koran
Palestinians enraged by reports that an Israeli policeman mishandled a koran battled riot officers at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound with stones and petrol bombs on Friday, police and witnesses said.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that about 100 protesters, many of them masked, attacked police, who fired stun grenades in response.
“Petrol bombs were thrown at police,” he told AFP. “Several police officers were injured by stones that were thrown and were evacuated to hospital.”
An AFP journalist at the scene said the clash was triggered by Palestinian media allegations that a policeman at the compound, on Sunday kicked a holy book and trampled on it.
“That’s completely incorrect,” Rosenfeld said, adding that the koran in question was being held by one of a group of women seeking to block a visit to the compound by Israelis when the book fell by accident.
“They blocked them with a bench and one of the women who was sitting on the bench was reading a koran,” he said.
“When the bench was removed from the area the koran fell on the floor. The koran was picked up and returned to the lady and there was no misconduct by any of the police.”

Another muslim concocted Damned If You Do – Damned If You Don’t situation.
On the one hand if he does it they threaten violence.
On the other he can’t be seen to be pushed around by people his country designates as terrorists. It would make him a figure of contempt and deservedly so.
That’s the quandry they intended to cause. They don’t care about the visit they’re using it to cause tensions.
Hamas WANTS the POTUS to visit the Temple Mount. They want it more than anything.
They won’t start a major terror campagn (i.e. “intifada”) over it and they know we know that.
They are doing this because they are a Muslim Brotherhood group. The Muslim Brotherhood has been at war with the United States since the late 1940’s.
Key to that is the war propoganda that the US is at war against all muslims.
To counter that propoganda both Bush and Obama have tried the charm offensive.
That’s why MB thru Hamas wants to recast this act of outreach as an act of war against all muslims. Hamas/MB are trying to sabotage the charm offensive.
Still more damned if you do damned if you don’t – so go to the temple mount anyway and let them go full on durka durk.
This kind of makes me laugh. Obama is doing everything he can to destroy the U.S. and Israel, yet he is still seen as the enemy by Muslim lunatics. Meanwhile the dumb Leftists still regard Israel as the enemy despite the fact that Hamas are declaring war on them, just because of a visit.
Stupid meets stupid.
From what I heard he doesn’t have plans to visit the Dome, however if it will cause trouble for Israel and the US he will be willing to change his plans.
This is a win/win for the Arabs, if he goes to the Dome they can riot and start a new intifada, if he doesn’t go they can scream that they scared him away from a Moslem holy site.
