Did hate speeches spark Dhule violence?

Yesterday I posted a couple of links, thanks to Magic Martin, on massive violence in a town in India where at that point 4 people had been killed and fires had been set due to “tensions between communities”.

Of course it doesn’t take a genius to guess that Muslims are at least one of those communities as is so often the case when there is deadly ‘tension’ between them.

Now it appears this was stimulated by Muslim ‘politicians’ inciting anti-Hindu hatred.

Did hate speeches spark Dhule violence?

After violent clashes between two communities in the Maharashtra town of Dhule caused police firing and ended with five deaths, police have now started investigating the role of hate speeches made by Muslim politicians ahead of Municipal elections in the town.

“We have inputs of a few Muslim politicians inciting a crowd in Dhule and allegedly telling them to attack policemen and officers at the next opportunity. We do not know the reason behind this, but this will be probed,” an Indian Express report quotes Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal as saying.

Abu Azmi, Mumbai unit president of the Samajwadi Party, who is said to have been leading the politicians told Indian Express, “I don’t remember the context of the speech made. I would not use words like these. I said the police are being unfair to Muslims. Innocent men are being put behind bars. The Government should do something. Police should get punished. This is what I say everywhere and I am sure I said the same in Dhule in October 2012.”

Dayal said, “Over 113 policemen were attacked, with 48 seriously injured and admitted. The superintendent has incurred four stitches on his cheek. ASP and deputy SP were attacked by a mob in a narrow alley with stones and all sorts of things.”

  1. India – Pakistan troops breach Line of Control , brutally kill 2 Indian soldiers, chop off heads, carry one away

In a gruesome attack, Pakistani troops today crossed into Indian territory and ambushed an Army patrol party killing two soldiers whose heads were reportedly then chopped off.

The attack took place along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district when Pakistanis came about 100 metres into Indian territory and assaulted the patrol party.

Besides killing two Lance Naiks, Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh, they also injured two other soldiers.

During the brutal assault on the patrol party, the Pakistanis are said to have chopped off their heads, one of which they carried with them, informed sources said.

  2. The left and the Moslems think they can say anything they want and commit any crime they want without being punished because they are special people that the laws don’t apply to.

A war between Pakistan and India could very easily turn nuclear, one of the two nuclear flash points.

  3. Speaking of Muslm politicians inciting a crowd to commit violence.

MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi “If these eunuch [Indian police] be removed for 15 minutes, 25 crore Muslims would wipe off 100 crore Hindus.” ( 250 million Muslims wipe off 1 billion Hindus. )
Also said “we (Muslims) will not let you (India or Hindus) live peacefully.”
Keep in mind this is an Indian politician, not a Pakistani or Bangladeshi politician threatening India.

He also denigrated the Hindu faith, and wants all Muslims to kill cows for the sole reason that they are sacred in Hinduism and assured thugs that they would get his protection if they commit violence.

  4. Owaisi is a coward talking of genocide. When the police came to arrest him he claimed he was unwell. It is not the police are eunuchs but he.

“Police officials point out that though Owaisi was given a chance to explain himself. He was summoned to the police station but the MIM leader refused to make an appearance, claiming that he was unwell.

The Nirmal rural police from Adilabad district on Tuesday morning visited Owaisi’s residence at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad and found him to be fit. He was then taken to Gandhi Hospital where he was subjected to tests. According to sources, Owaisi has already been issued notices to appear before the Nizamabad police on Tuesday and also before the Osmania University Police on January 10 in connection with the cases registered against him. ” http://www.deccanherald.com/content/303816/hate-speech-case-mim-leader.html

  5. More on the Dhule violence

“…The riot was sparked off by a brawl that started over the issue of paying a restaurant bill of Rs. 30. According to the police, two Muslim youths got into a fight with a Hindu restaurant owner over the issue. The owner hit the two, who went out and returned with a mob of over 50 people. The restaurant owner, too, had called people by then.

According to an eye witnesses who did not wish to be named, both the parties went to the Machhi Bazaar police chowk, but the police refused to register a complaint and asked them to resolve the matter by themselves. It was then that both sides started pelting stones at each other. The police arrived on the scene soon after, and was caught in the violence.

However, the account of what happened after this has contradictory versions. According to the police, the Hindus were largely quiet and the Muslim side of the mob was throwing huge stones and acid-filled glass bottles. PSI Bhaskarrao Pagar, who was at the scene when the incident happened, told The Hindu that policemen were getting injured in large numbers and it became difficult to control the mob. “That was the last option left with us at that time. If we had not taken the decision to start firing, the violence would have grown beyond limits. It is the best that we could do.”… http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/dhule-riot-police-arrest-eatery-owner-for-inciting-violence/article4295523.ece

Guess who got arrested – the restaurant owner not the Muslims who fought him over 30 rupees. Worth reading to analyze how these communal tensions are depicted in the news.
