More than 1,000 Nigerian women pilgrims remained stranded at a Saudi airport for a fifth straight day Thursday after being denied entry into the kingdom because they were not accompanied by men, an airport official confirmed.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said the women have been denied entry because “they are not accompanied by a mahram (the statutory male companion),” adding that talks were continuing between Saudi and Nigerian officials.

The official said that the Nigerian consulate in Jeddah had offered to ensure the women’s return after the annual hajj pilgrimage, but Saudi immigration officials were “sticking to their position.”

The kingdom has yet to release a formal statement regarding the case.

The women had begun arriving at Jeddah airport on Sunday, a report by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, which oversees Nigerian participation in the pilgrimage, said.

  1. Take the words of a pedophile lunatic literally, follow the stupid rules of a twisted ideology without flexibility or questioning, and this is what you get – over a thousand women stranded in a foreign country because no one knows what to do with them.
And to think that we’re letting these retards take over the World. They’re not fit to run a market stall and this is the whole lot of them, every single Muslim government on Earth. I know that a ten-year-old could make better decisions. Why some people think that Islam is a great religion baffles me. It’s beyond stupidity!

  2. This presents a major problem for the Saudi’s, they can’t follow sharia and let them in, but they also can’t let them leave because Sharia forbids women traveling by themselves.

  3. What sorts of thoughts could be going through the minds of these stranded Muslimas? Have they figured out yet that the special status and honour and dignity that Islam supposedly bestows on females equates to treating them as juveniles in need of guardians and keeping them penned like wayward cattle? Where is their self-esteem, their sense of justice, their anger at being denied even a basic equality with males? Have they figured out yet that the religion they’ve gone there to adore and praise is responsible for this abysmal treatment? Since that same religion, Islam, took away their ability to think for themselves, I doubt any of this has occurred to them.

  4. @ Martin, All I can think of while watching the Saudi “live” channel of the black box is BOOM!

  5. @ W P F

The only solution to get rid of this insanity :

1- “Raze the Kaba” 2 – “Grind the blackstone” 3. – “Bomb Mecca”

I’m currently working on the design of a deLuxe Blackstone grinder… 🙂

  6. This is clearly a fantastic situation. If the Saudi royals do not deal with it right there may be Boko Haram come knocking on your door. It is possible that Boko Haram is the craziest of all the muzzie terror groups. The name Books are forbidden (apart from Al Koran of course) suggests a real love for illiteracy which is sunna since Mo was supposedly illiterate. So if you get the BH people mad Saudis then watch out.

  7. They can always leave them there Surely it would be a dream come true for them to live in such a holly and jolly place where they can really realize their potential as human beings.

Such a great place is KSA the culture, the refinement, the art, the literature and particularly the music is of such a quality- one would think it was divinely inspired. No doubt it must be all down to all those freedoms such as that of speech and all that public debate of Socratic proportions! [sarc]

  8. Just been watching the live feed thingy for a few minuets .I heard the words yuda and kaffir several times…they really don’t like us do they!
